Hello Ed02, if you are around mate, have we looked at any attacking players lately? Laxlat was mentioned but any new names?

Cheers.

Just another name

{Ed002's Note - Laxalt remains available but is very much a LM player. Klopp remains keen on Lorenzo Insigne - but he would be a Salah or Mane replacement but very, very expensive €150M asking price. Brewster and Wilson will have to consider their futures if Liverpool were looking to drop interested in tightening up defence and spend the money on forwards.}

1.) 04 Mar 2019 05:56:35
Thanks mate! Insigne is utter class like you said Napoli are hard nut to crack and he plays on the left. No ways anyone could afford that price but I like the player. Could you advice the club to look for Brandt? 😁.

2.) 04 Mar 2019 06:50:02
Also Brandt has a realease clausle for this summer of 35mio € if i remember correctly. Under Bosz he turned into a more central player which could fit nicley.

3.) 04 Mar 2019 10:50:32
An attacking LM could be possible if Mane sits up top, Salah on the Right and Firmino in the number 10 role.

4.) 04 Mar 2019 11:13:45
Would love to see that setup with Brandt on the left KC!

5.) 04 Mar 2019 13:12:19
Hello Ed002! Maybe Klopp want to play a 4-2-3-1
Salah up top and Insigne, Firmino, Mane behind him we need a top forward or a top CM to complete our first xi.

Ali, A. A, Gom, Van, Rob, Fab, Kei, Insigne, Fir, Man, Sal.

{Ed002's Note - It would not be a surprise to see Liverpool to look at a Coutinho (who is available) or Fekir type player then that is reasonable.}

6.) 04 Mar 2019 13:42:06
Ed with Insigne price rage at that figure then surely he is out of reach for nearly al clubs mate? Isn’t he late 20’s also?

{Ed002's Note -VAlue for money given his age and price is far beyond what clubs would look to agree to. The asking price is huge, Napoli are difficult to deal with and he would be a Salah or Mane replacement if anything were to happen.}

7.) 04 Mar 2019 13:47:58
Ok mate thank you. I bet some on here would happily swap Salah for him based on the fume after yesterday’s result.

8.) 04 Mar 2019 13:51:57
And he is quite well settled at Napoli I believe.

9.) 04 Mar 2019 18:31:56
if we want to use a 4-2-3-1/ 4-5-1 dynamic formation effectively for an entire campaign, then the team certainly needs another high-end talent to rotate among the attacking players. i'm not sure insigne makes a lot of sense considering the cost and lack of experience as a striker though. if we're going to invest, i'd look elsewhere for a player that can play the 9 effectively, but also give you something on the wings. ideally werner.

10.) 04 Mar 2019 19:02:06
I would like Insigne.

But

My dream would be Dybala, I know it would never happen but he is my dream signing.

11.) 04 Mar 2019 21:19:05
Werners off to bayern.

12.) 04 Mar 2019 23:21:54
Thanks Ed002! I understand!

13.) 05 Mar 2019 11:41:38
if we can free up space by selling Sturridge, Origi, Lallana and Mignolet i cannot see why we can't have Fekir/ Insigne and still keep the front 3. with playing over 70 games in 1 season, surely everybody will play.

we cannot have expectations to compete with City/ Bayern/ Real/ Barca with our current squad.

14.) 05 Mar 2019 12:16:26
Eds would Klopp take couthino back? He didn't seem too bothered by his exit.

15.) 09 Mar 2019 02:59:27
Dear Ed002

Did I misunderstand your words? Liverpool has an interest on Countinho.?

{Ed002's Note - Clearly you did.}

28 Feb 2019 05:24:29
Hello Ed02
If you are around, checked the sharkoppd and your latest input. I want to ask if the club are looking at any full backs lately?
There were not much on that front in your sharkopod. We definitely need full backs in the summer imo.
I know Fabinho could play there but we simply cannot move him from the midfield or our midfield would collapse. Do not rate Milner at full back which means we don’t have anyone bar TAA and Robbo.
Thanks for your input.

Just another name

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of any declared interest in full backs but Ed001 has suggested that TAA will move to midfield and that would require a RB to be added - I doubt Clyne is in the picture as a starter. Adam Lewis is certainly well thought of and should provide LB cover. Gomez will also be able to provide cover if required.}

1.) 28 Feb 2019 12:21:03
Thanks for the input Ed02. I guess we would still need a dedicated RB. Gomez should be plying at CB and while Lewis is well thought at LB. The kid has not played any competitive game for us. We lack a dedicated RB apart from TAA. With Clyne off in the summer we don’t have any.

2.) 28 Feb 2019 19:27:08
Wan-B. or can Chilwell play on the right also?

3.) 28 Feb 2019 20:09:35
I can't really work out entirely how to phrase he question, but purely for example, if the club wanted Wan Bissaka but knew he wasnt available this summer and knew they needed a right back would they typically wait til he was available and hope kids work out in the meantime or just sign a replacement instead? I know hypotheticals are difficult, but it must be a typical problem for clubs to deal with.

4.) 28 Feb 2019 22:00:31
We waited for van dike before klopp seems to dig his heels in sometimes.

5.) 01 Mar 2019 02:54:27
Harry doesn’t rate them therefore we don’t have anyone me to play in that position lol. Sound logic.

6.) 01 Mar 2019 00:43:52
One of the things i like about Klopp is he identifies which players will suit what he needs and then if he can't get them won't waste money on someone else who isn't suitable. Rodgers at times seemed like a kid with money burning a hole in his pocket. Which isn't to say Im a fan of the way klopp has gone about trying to get some of his targets - he certainly isn't perfect.

7.) 01 Mar 2019 00:56:59
I personally don’t see any need to move Trent into midfield when he’s clearly a fantastic RB, and it’s such a crucial position with limited alternatives out there. We have an overload of midfielders.

I’d be very happy to have Trent and Robbo play as our main fullbacks next season with Milner, Adam Lewis as cover and Fabinho/ Gomez also capable of playing there in the event that’s really necessary.

In terms of investment I’d go for one top forward over everything else - we need a challenger to our front three and as much as I like him, I’m just not sure Origi is it. Sturridge definitely isn’t.

8.) 01 Mar 2019 07:36:33
Fantastic going forward sg but suspect defensively hence why klopp drops him for the big games, usually for gomez with lovren coming in at cb. The lads played cm throughout his youth and was our best u23 player when i was watching down prenton park a few years ago.

If you think his deliveries are good from wide wait until you see him pinging balls from cm, excellent short passing and through balls too, plus he has a good long shot, something we have been crying out for from midfield.

I know i say this a lot but i really want to see what him and wilson can do at cm next season because in the u23s they were unplayable except against utds youth whoo also had some amazing talents, rashford being one, wilson was more of a winger/ striker back then but has been playing deeper under lampard. Kent was also excellent back then and is doing well at rangers.

Id rather us by wan bissaka than another cm as we can develop two of our brightest prospects and trent can still cover rb if needed.

9.) 01 Mar 2019 08:18:11
Good points, but I’m not sure he’s suspect defensively by nature Lerchy, I reckons it’s more his inexperience IMO and he’s getting better all the time.

I think in time he’ll be an excellent CM but not next season, we have Fab, Gini, Keita and others there which would crimp his game time. I see him moving there as a natural successor to Hendo/ Gini when that role as box to box player becomes a requirement to be filled.

There’s plenty of time for the lad yet, and I would like to see him swinging those crosses in from the right for another season or two at least!

I watched quite a few of those games on LFCTV and agree with your assessments, although Kent’s end product has always concerned me. he creates chances but Wilson is the clinical one.

10.) 01 Mar 2019 08:38:15
Fair points there sg, I can't argue with that. Im sure klopp has a plan.

11.) 03 Mar 2019 00:06:02
Got to agree with SG, Trent is good for another couple of seasons at RB, he is improving all the time, I can see him being really highly rated, he has so much potential .

Slightly off from the game and result. Lorenzo insigne is utter class. I am a massive fan of the lad. He is a gem at Napoli. Their most creative outliet.
His touch is brilliant, excellent vision to pick a pass. Can dance through defenders and has an eye for goal. A proper Coutinho plus real hard work ( under Sarri he learned that trade )
The only question is where would he play?

He generally plays on the left and if klopp is keen then it means Salah is off as Klopp is a huge fan of Mane and Mane could easily play on the right.

Insigne could also play in the midfield on the left hand side but that is not what I could think for.

He would cost an absolute bomb but he is real quality.

Cheers and thanks for the transfer update Ed02 ( Need more names 😁)

1.) 04 Mar 2019 16:34:13
He's just another name.

2.) 04 Mar 2019 16:40:00
Insigne could play left salah right mane the number 10 Bobby up top. With Fabinho and keita the 2. With trent robbo Gomez VVD and Alisson you'd be hard pushed to find a better 11 but I don't think we'll go for him tbh.

3.) 04 Mar 2019 16:44:02
Harry, isn.

4.) 04 Mar 2019 16:46:15
Oh goody, another non LFC player no one cares about but you, Harry. He is so good that no one has even bothered to check on him. Yeah, there are better players out there we can get BUT I'm sure you'll be moaning at Klopp for not signing who you want cos well, that's how it works with you, isn't it?

5.) 04 Mar 2019 17:17:19
Redwolf

I wish you had checked the rumour page. Your man crush klopp is keen on the player as per Ed02. Go and read his input.

26 Feb 2019 10:41:13
Ed01, if you are around. What's your view on Jan Molby and Terry McDermott?
Molby I have read everywhere as the best ever passer the club has had. Not much heard about Terry. Was Molby signed to replace Terry?

Cheers.

Just another name

{Ed001's Note - they were nothing like the same player and Molby was not signed for 2 years after Terry Mac left.}

1.) 26 Feb 2019 11:33:05
Thanks Ed01. What’s your views on both of them? Was it before your time?

{Ed001's Note - I only really vaguely remember McDermott, for scoring important goals. Molby I just remember spraying passes around with pinpoint precision. I have never seen anyone pass like him, only Alonso came close.}

2.) 26 Feb 2019 12:16:31
Thanks mate.

3.) 26 Feb 2019 13:06:07
Molby rarely strayed too far from the centre circle and im sure any video footage of him breaking into a sprint would be a rare collectors item. But what a passer of the ball.

{Ed025's Note - one of my all time favourite,s there virgil, not the fittest guy on the planet (like myself) but when you have skill and you can read a game like jan you dont need to be mate..

4.) 26 Feb 2019 13:17:40
Someone said below I don’t rate midfielders Ed025, Here is someone I would even play today. Jon Molby could pass the ball through a needle. What a player! Him and Souness. Best ever!

{Ed025's Note - any team would have them 2 j a n..

5.) 26 Feb 2019 13:18:50
Paul McGrath is another one of those players Ed025. Couldn't train because of his bad knees but come match day was always in the right place because his reading of the game was second to none.
I genuinely believe you can not teach that, you either have it or you haven't.

{Ed025's Note - ledley king was the same verdo, naturally fit guys who never needed to run around much because they had a brain mate..

6.) 26 Feb 2019 13:22:45
Molby scored one of the best ever goals against manutd. Worth looking on you tube if it's in there. I only ever saw it on an old VHS copy of the game. He could take an awesome few kick too. One in the Cup against I think Ipswich and also he scored an absolute beauty kop end against Norwich I think. Superb technique but coming from ajax I guess it was expected. He did have his negative side, like a spell inside for drink driving I believe but what a player.

{Ed025's Note - all genius,s have flaws OYB....just look at einstein, and me with my southern comfort addiction.. :)

7.) 26 Feb 2019 13:33:01
As i read this two goals for each player spring to mind.

Mcdermott against spurs not sure of the year) and molby against united. (the rare footage game that wasnt televised) .

Molby's passing was out of this world.

8.) 26 Feb 2019 14:41:02
Molby took a decent penalty too. Hardly any run up, passed it in the net every time 😄.

9.) 26 Feb 2019 16:04:27
If you can imagine James Corden’s big brother with the passing range of Xabi Alonso and the shooting power of Steven Gerrard, that was Jan Molby. If you can imagine Gini Wijnaldum with the goal scoring prowess of Frank Lampard and Ed025’s refuelling habits, that was Terry McDermott.

{Ed025's Note - terry did like the odd sherbet WW, i tried to grow a moustache like him one time....but i ended up looking like the detective bluey.. :)

10.) 26 Feb 2019 16:23:12
At the suggestion of my then girlfriend, I tried the full Scouse curly perm and moustache that was de riguer for the Liverpool team of the early 1980s. I looked like a poodle that had been mistreated then booted out in the rain. Took ages for the perm to grow out, too. The things we do for love, eh, Ed025. She gave me the boot soon after as well.

{Ed025's Note - love it mate..

11.) 26 Feb 2019 16:41:26
On a more serious note, Terry McDermott scored the greatest goal I have seen at Anfield. It was the seventh goal in a 7-0 drubbing of Spurs in September 1978. It came from a Spurs corner at the Kop end and 6 touches later Terry was heading Stevie Heighway’s cross into the top corner of the Anfield Road end goal. Check it out on YouTube. Pure magic.

{Ed025's Note - i remember it well mate..

12.) 26 Feb 2019 17:50:16
Molby replaced Souness and struggled early on; but he was young. I remember a slow start to the season for the team and Molby after Souness left.
He was still popular though and I remember fans getting excited when he did start which wasn't every game in that first season.

{Ed025's Note - he ended up with a scouse accent as well rigsby, which endeared him to the supporters..

13.) 26 Feb 2019 17:57:45
Just as I was getting into footy born to the red side Jan Mo was spraying it around the field with no effort at all. Absolutely class player, how we could do with his passing range now. Starting to feel a little on the old side.

{Ed025's Note - he would cost about £200m nowadays janmo..

14.) 26 Feb 2019 18:02:38
They would get that back over the bar in the players lounge in 2 years. Win win🍻.

{Ed025's Note - your right janmo, and it would only take 1 year if they get a cut from mcdonalds mate..

15.) 26 Feb 2019 21:49:47
I remember a quote from Jan Molby about Liverpool in the '80's. He liked a drink, as we know, and he said it was great in the city at that time. He reckoned you go for a few on a 'quiet' Tuesday night and the pubs would still be packed because no one was working the day after!

Chelsea need a top 4 finish or Sarri is getting the boots and they are very capable to hold us at Anfield.
Spurs are a very able side. No idea which spurs would turn up at Anfield. This is not a guaranteed 6 pointer.
And we have to win every games form now on!

Both would face us with CL place hanging on their head! We haven’t been convincing against either of them earlier and that’s my reason to believe we will drop points.

Doesn’t matter now! We got to beat Spurs and Chelsea at home which seems unlikely!
