Sly sports reporting that Bournemouth are interested in a loan deal for Nico Williams. To me it doesn't make sense, as he is the only back up to TAA.

Jota forehead

1.) 30 Jan 2022 11:34:28
If he goes then I assume the coaching team think Conor Bradley's ready to step up.

2.) 30 Jan 2022 11:47:16
I personally think his level is bottom half Premier League now rather than Championship.

3.) 30 Jan 2022 11:48:27
JG can cover RB 😁.

4.) 30 Jan 2022 11:53:18
If its only as a backup they could use Gomez.

5.) 30 Jan 2022 12:03:50
As much as I rate Gomez at cb he is terrible at rb. Think a loan could work out well for neco.

6.) 30 Jan 2022 13:25:32
I think Neco W has gone up a level at least in the past six months or so, he’s done well for Wales and for us on the odd occasions he’s played.
At this point he does need to play imo, so maybe a loan will be beneficial.

7.) 30 Jan 2022 13:47:36
Fab was a rb.

8.) 30 Jan 2022 14:19:20
RNred, playing Fab at right back would be a huge compromise in midfield as we’ve no one who can adequately fulfil the same role
.

9.) 30 Jan 2022 15:12:36
Milner back up RB for 4 months?

10.) 30 Jan 2022 16:27:10
Konate can also play RB.

I find it strange that we are letting Phillips go out on loan. I thought we needed the money, and that a few clubs were interested in buying him.

Jota forehead

1.) 31 Jan 2022 14:03:23
No one got near our valuation. Thanks.

2.) 31 Jan 2022 14:06:33
Probs down to price tag, clubs haven't matched it and we haven't budged. if he goes on loan Bournemouth will pay a loan fee and probs all his wages. which then frees up a space in maybe the champions league list maybe wrong there ED02 can correct me, if he plays well Bournemouth are in a good spot to potentially get promoted they buy him in the summer or he adds value to him.

3.) 31 Jan 2022 14:25:48
He goes on loan, we get a fee, they pay his wages, If he does well (which there’s no reason to think that he won’t) it’ll attract buyers. All seems ok to me?

4.) 31 Jan 2022 14:43:50
Agreed VVVV.

5.) 31 Jan 2022 14:48:26
I’m surprised no premier league clubs have come in for him if he’s available for a loan.

6.) 31 Jan 2022 15:25:40
Rejected an offer last summer circa £7 mill for Philips. Edwards on the play.

7.) 31 Jan 2022 15:45:37
The kid needs to play, end of. If we cannot sell him (cos we ain't that desperate) at the price we want then, he needs to be loaned out so he can play. Player management also involves managing their careers and we have to do what's best for him as well.

8.) 31 Jan 2022 15:48:09
29 year old Dan Burn who has moved to Newcastle for 12-13m but 24 year old Nat Phillips is only 7m? Aye right.

9.) 31 Jan 2022 15:53:01
He’ll stand out in the championship as he’s a very decent premier league defender. I think it will help him get a move.

10.) 31 Jan 2022 21:00:26
Don't you lot know the rules? Okay I'll explain.
1. When we're interested in a player, no haggling, just pay whatever price they quote.

2. When selling a player, no having a value on them, just sell for the 1st offer that comes in. Doesn't matter if its way less than you think the player is worth.
Not many on here run a business I'd bet.

26 Jan 2022 18:56:04
So Salah scores the winning penalty for Egypt in the shootout. Looks like it was all set up for him to be the hero, as why would you have him taking penalty No 5. Normally your best penalty takers are the first to take them.

Jota forehead

1.) 26 Jan 2022 19:06:48
Well he can only be set up to be the hero if everything goes to plan before him. Just say a couple of Egypt players miss?

2.) 26 Jan 2022 21:58:30
If I recall, Gerrard was No 5 in Istanbul…. just never got to take one.

3.) 27 Jan 2022 07:15:55
I seem to remember Ronaldo was supposed to be the 5th penalty taker in a tournament for Portugal. I forgot which one but it didn't get that far ad Portugal had missed to many pens by that point.

4.) 27 Jan 2022 12:17:50
Salah missed his last one for us, so he might be down the pecking order.

Seriously though, the player might have a say in which penalty they take; especially big heads, I mean names, like Gerrard, Ronaldo and Salah.

05 Jan 2022 09:38:53
This is going from bad to worse. Linders now positive. Surely the game can't go ahead.

Jota forehead

1.) 05 Jan 2022 09:46:28
Trying times. Will be a difficult month; I see it getting worse (in general) before it turns around and gets better.

2.) 05 Jan 2022 10:38:51
Continuing to play this season is stupid imo. It's all about money of course but how can this go on.

3.) 05 Jan 2022 10:58:49
Marty I can’t see them cancelling the season mate. Think of all the Tv money they would have to pay back whilst continuing to pay their squads for the rest of the season.
We’re two years into this C.V. and life has to move on as it’s not going anywhere.
Loads and loads of players are testing positive regardless of if they have had zero or 4 jabs. They go into isolation and then 7 days later are playing 90 mins of elite premier league football in front of 40 thousand plus fans. That’s not me saying it is nothing but it’s not really at a stage where it’s physically stopping the players playing. It’s the isolation rules that are doing that.

4.) 05 Jan 2022 11:06:24
Hi JK. Yeah good point. Just madness isn't it. The way it's set up is making it a bit of an unfair playing field though with teams having to play weakened teams etc.

5.) 05 Jan 2022 11:15:54
Marty it is mate and it’s causing the field to be the most uneven it’s probably ever been in the league.
I’ve seen fans argue that clubs have suspiciously had games called off whilst they’ve had injuries but no doubts rival fans will point to us trying to get our games postponed at the exact same time we’ve lost players to the Afcon. Mane, Salah and Kieta were extremely lucky to get out of Melwood with negative results some might say 🙄.

6.) 05 Jan 2022 11:58:27
No guarantee that Salah and Keita aren't going to pick the C.V. up where they're going. Worst case scenario - they test positive the day they're due to come back to training.
We'll cope though.

7.) 05 Jan 2022 12:02:01
Unfortunately it's something we have to live with not coward away, about time they cut isolating time.

8.) 05 Jan 2022 12:07:08
Hence why i feel so detached from it all at the moment. It’s felt quite disingenuous for a number of weeks now and I am finding it really hard to care about our matches. Between the devastating effects of C.V. and the incompetence of the refs, it doesn’t feel like games are being decided on merit anymore. It has ruined what started off as a really fun and competitive season of football.

9.) 05 Jan 2022 12:23:03
Why would they cancel a season? We shouldn't even have any restrictions on us, especially fit players who have had a vax, i can guarantee 99% of the players will no sickness and could easily train still and play.

10.) 05 Jan 2022 12:39:32
I agree life has to move on, but you don't just head out in the storm with only a raincoat on. people are acting as if we have life under control. What we and the world are doing is "surviving with C.V." not living with it. It is madness and all they're doing is putting everyone at risk for the sake of their contracts.

11.) 05 Jan 2022 13:14:45
We can't be expected to have boosters every 4 months for the rest of eternity. There comes a point where we do indeed start having to live with it. Even now, seems the UK government is just bracing and hoping for a herd immunity of sorts.

12.) 05 Jan 2022 13:20:52
Faith totally respect what you’re saying mate. But do you honestly think the players believe they are at risk. Or the 40k plus fans that attend every game in Britain. The players were quick enough to speak out when the clubs mentioned wage cuts so I’m sure they would be speaking out now rather than playing 90 mins of Footie 7 days after testing positive.

13.) 05 Jan 2022 13:27:42
How many of the players are seriously ill or even slightly Ill so why even test? What other condition would you need a test to confirm you had it?

14.) 05 Jan 2022 14:30:27
Maybe the players can live train and play in a plastic bubble which covers the pitch and we call all turn up and watch … a bit like a goldfish bowl… but no water!

15.) 05 Jan 2022 15:25:10
One that kills you 5 times more than the seasonal flu?

How many are ill with it Pete? Do you know?

16.) 05 Jan 2022 15:32:32
Reading the above posts, it is obvious that none of you have had C.V.. Take it from me, that it is nothing like a bad cold, it completely wipes you out, and it can take weeks, if not months to get back to where you were.

17.) 05 Jan 2022 15:39:03
Name me one actual person, not manipulated statistics which count 30 days before and after of something that can be in tracked in your system for 12 weeks after c.v. using a useless test, which tests positive for citrus hence why everyone pulled a sicky this week.

18.) 05 Jan 2022 16:24:03
JF cheers for clearing up my medical diagnosis. I feel stupid now for isolating the two times I’ve tested positive for it in the last 2 years when if it’s obvious I didn’t have it.

So no Klopp and all the players who tested positive then for a few weeks or months. Guess there will be a few more postponed games.

19.) 05 Jan 2022 16:25:56
Jota, without getting dragged into a C.V. conversation, the whole point of the vaxs is to vastly reduce your chances of suffering a bad reaction to C.V.. Based on government percentages, the majority of positive tests in vaccinated players should be mild you would hope.

20.) 05 Jan 2022 16:48:55
Saw a slight glimmer of hope the other day:-the amount of prem players testing positive has started to fall.
Maybe the small number of experts who expect this wave to climb steeply then drop steeply are right, London is seeing a drop apparently.

21.) 06 Jan 2022 12:59:53
I've had CV but also had 2 vaxs and a booster, the isolation was the worse part and thankfully that is coming down in days.

04 Jan 2022 18:55:28
Liverpool have asked the EPL for a postponement for the first leg of the cup game. Any news Eds if that means more C.V. cases, or more injuries. Also what are the chances of getting the game postponed.

Jota forehead

{Ed002's Note - If the criteria for the game being postponed are met then it will be considered. So far I think only one or two requests have been rejected.}

1.) 04 Jan 2022 19:27:43
Rumour is that all the keepers have it. Allison, Kelleher and Adrian.
Karius couldn't catch it though.

{Ed014's Note - 😂

2.) 04 Jan 2022 19:56:24
Ed002, would there be a case to make the tie one leg? Or will it remain at two?

{Ed002's Note - There has been no president for that in any English trophy that I am aware of, so it seems unlikely.}

3.) 04 Jan 2022 20:25:49
It would probably have to be played at a neutral venue if they went down that route.
It's not beyond the realms of possibility if the congestion gets out of hand though.

4.) 04 Jan 2022 20:27:58
That was beautiful brommers.

5.) 04 Jan 2022 22:25:32
Nice one, Brommers.

Can't we just play some retired teachers?

6.) 04 Jan 2022 22:45:45
There's also no president for playing through a global C.V. either Ed02, madness these games were kept at two legged semi finals with such a congested season.

{Ed002's Note - Sorry, provisions are in place and clubs have been playing through it.}

7.) 04 Jan 2022 23:06:54
Love your work Brommers - had me choking on my coffee mate 😀😀👍.

8.) 05 Jan 2022 01:06:27
Is there a precedent to have a President?

9.) 05 Jan 2022 10:25:15
Brommers, that's low, man. Lol.

03 Jan 2022 22:14:36
Interesting to see the front 3 for the Arsenal game, if Origi and Mino are out injured. Jota, obviously, but what 2 others if Firmino still has C.V.

Jota forehead

1.) 03 Jan 2022 22:33:35
I can see Arsenal going full strength for these Semi’s. Interesting to see what Klopp goes for in both games.

2.) 03 Jan 2022 22:40:55
If Bobby's not back, I assume it'll be Jota, Ox and Neco Williams.

3.) 03 Jan 2022 23:38:51
I doubt we will play a front 3. Makes sense to play a different system.

4.) 04 Jan 2022 00:57:52
Hasn't our players knowing and playing the system been one of our strengths, the past few seasons?
And Neco in the front three? There's more chance of Nico from The Velvet Underground playing in the front three.

5.) 04 Jan 2022 03:07:20
Neco played in the front 4 last time out Rigsby. And yeah I agree, the system / identity doesn't change, but maybe some little tweaks.

6.) 04 Jan 2022 05:54:58
Jones to play further up the pitch surely, Klopp will go as full strength as possible its a semi for God sake, and we need trophies.

7.) 04 Jan 2022 06:57:40
I belive Jota, Jones, Ox to play, as well we may see Gordon. I am sure we will go full strength, both legs, we have an, on paper, easy game for FA in between and then 3 days / we play on anfield our second leg and the epl game after that/ until our next game and we won't have any traveling. So I assume, and hope, we play full strength as this is a semi final as well.

8.) 04 Jan 2022 07:45:21
Yeah Klopp has used Jones as left forward before, so it would make sense if he played him further forward. Fingers crossed though that both taki and Bobby are available. Any ideas when origi is back, typical that when we enter a period he is bang on to start more regularly he gets injured. I know it is bottom of priorities but I really hope we win the league cup this year. It is coming up to 10 years since our last one, and over 15 years since our last fa cup, that’s way too long! …. anyone who says it is the Mickey Mouse cup is a moron, football is about trophies and there are fans of many big clubs who would be delighted to go to Wembley for a league cup final.

9.) 04 Jan 2022 08:46:58
I for one would be interested to see more of Jones in the front 3. If all fit this month then we have Bobby, Jota, Mino and Origi. l
For me Ox has never looked comfortable when playing in the front 3 for us.

10.) 04 Jan 2022 09:57:43
I would hope Curtis Jones get to be the Mane deputy on the left side of attack.

11.) 04 Jan 2022 11:20:15
I was joking, Something Red.
We are struggling for numbers and with Co-vid no one knows who is available. I think Klopp would have taken the semi more seriously but he might not have too many options to do that.
Get behind the players on the pitch, even if it is Nico from The Velvet Underground!

12.) 04 Jan 2022 18:10:54
Whoever we put out, I’ll hope they do as well as they can but if they lose, it’s only a cup game which won’t affect the rest of our season.

13.) 04 Jan 2022 18:51:25
People defending FSG will have to come to an end if Neco Williams starts in attack at any point for this club.

14.) 05 Jan 2022 10:28:14
Frode Kippers, are you blaming the CV C.V. ravaging the squad on FSG now?

Babbity Rabbity, yes we have those players, who have all played there sometimes, but in my opinion Neco is the player who plays in the same style as TAA. That would mean, that we don't have to alter our system.

If the only way to get him, is to loan him back to Fulham for the rest of the season, I would be OK with that.
