Leeds are asking for a hiding here. Liverpool should be giving it to them.

Gregred

1.) 20 Apr 2021 07:46:04
Nly hiding being done is by fsg. klopp and the players got stick for what these guys should.

2.) 20 Apr 2021 07:52:14
Klopp and the players haven't received stick from anyone. Nothing like a bit of melodrama.

{Ed001's Note - yes they did. The protests last night, for starters, it was Klopp and the players getting it because the owners weren't there. Then there was Leeds leaving T-shirts in the dressing room reading the "Champions League: Earn It" on the front and "Football is for the fans" on the back. That is stick, nothing to do with melodrama. Clearly you have had your head under a rock and not realised what is actually happening out there.}

3.) 20 Apr 2021 13:46:25
Didn't realise that Leeds had done that in the changing rooms. That's idiotic in the highest order as Klopp and the players are hardly involved in these discussions. You only have to listen to Klopp and Milners comments to realise that. I genuinely thought the OP meant from media circles they'd gotten stick. Apologies I should have been clearer.

Chelsea are west brom in disguise.

Gregred

1.) 29 May 2021 22:15:17
I don’t remember West Brom winning the champions league in fairness.

2.) 29 May 2021 22:p29:08
Stopped city tho!

Relieved for the win and on the balance of it probably deserved it. Liverpool weren't good but villa were worse. What was really frustrating was the amount of times villa gave away the ball in poor positions and we couldn't even punish them. Last couple of years we would've been 5 up at half time.
I honestly never thought we'd get that 2 goal especially when firmino was taken off.
But anyway still great to see trent bust the back of the net for a win. Yo get in.

Gregred

{Ed0666's Note - let’s just finish this crazy season rebuild and go again in August

1.) 10 Apr 2021 17:42:39
Closing down, energy, attitude and movement were fine for the first 60 minutes. Just poor finishing let us down.

As I said in Live Chat though, what worried me is that after we equalised the intensity disappeared. Should've kept it up.

2.) 10 Apr 2021 17:46:03
I’ve never seen us over hit so many passes or even pass the ball into touch in a single game before. And that’s not just a few players. All of them were doing it. Villa constantly gave the ball away and we just returned the ball. Another shocking decision by Var and I feared the worst from them again when they said they were checking the 2nd half challenge in the box from Trent. We had luck on our side for once when the ball came off the post and their lad then dive headed it wide. 3 points were a must and we got them. If we play like that against Real on wed we will lose the 2nd leg let alone the tie. To top it all off Shaq was more creative in 4 mins than some of the other players were in the whole time they were on the pitch.

3.) 10 Apr 2021 17:50:58
Ed0666 mate not that much Rebuilding is needed when u consider the amount of time we've lost Becker, VVD, Gomez, Hendo, Fab (from midfield) etc that's our spine which is crazy. Hence from being comfortably sitting on top at Christmas now fighting for just being in CL. It's strange and crazy season.

{Ed0666's Note - I respectfully disagree mate I think we need more than a slight rebuild. We are stale and the injection of hendo and VVD won’t make us world beaters again. A CB is needed or two as I would sell Matip. I would bring in a couple of midfielders at least (also selling a few namely Ox, Keita, Grujic) also I would get rid of Mane, Shaq and Origi and bring in two forwards. So I feel at least 5 players are needed that could fight for a first team place. 5 players in my opinion is quite a lot. Have a good weekend mate.

4.) 10 Apr 2021 18:22:10
I felt we played well today overall even tho, things were not perfect. I thought we created decent chances esp on the first half but poor finishing and responsibility-shifting amongst the forwards killed us there. I also like the fight we showed after going down a goal, something we have not shown at Anfield in months.

We got lucky on the Trezeguet chance for sure but our heads never really dropped and kept going, got the result and happy days. Clearly, MUST do MUCH better vs Real Madrid to have any chance of progressing, tho.

5.) 10 Apr 2021 18:37:52
I get that mate but Ox, Keita, Grujic Shaq, Origi have never been that important to us mate maybe Origi abit that's it. Think we need a Kevin De Bruyne type of a player in our midfield that can help our attack. Sometimes it's difficult for our trio who are expected to create and score at the same time. Thought bringing jota was to solve our attacking options. Agree we badly need 1 or 2 defender's.

6.) 10 Apr 2021 18:49:47
A win as today should boost our confidence. So, I donot understand the negativity!

7.) 10 Apr 2021 18:25:49
Ed666. Again, it’s like you’re reading my mind. We need a rebuild as things have gone stale as you said. Gini, Ox, Keita, Matip, Grujic, Wilson, Shaq, Origi and others I’m sure but can’t think of them right now. Every club has to rebuild at some point and nothing last forever. Love Mane but he would be the first off the front three to depart to bring in funds. We have Jota as a ready made replacement.

Bring in Konate, Bissouma and Gravenberch (Highly Unlikely) I would love Lautaro Martínez just to throw another name out there as he scores and links the play which would allow him to take over Firmino’s spot. Although, chances of getting him are slim to none. Bring through Elliot and Jones into the squad/ team and we go again.

{Ed0666's Note - I think Elliot will move into a number 10 role eventually as I don’t see him as a right winger. That’s just my opinion I could be wrong. If we sold Mane and another one of the front three I’d be ok with it because sentiment is for romance novels and losers.

Konate sounds as if it’s done, Bidsouma could happen and Gravenberch won’t happen with the fee their asking and especially if ox and keita are still at the club come next season. You can forget about Martinez it’s a non starter mate.

8.) 10 Apr 2021 18:48:23
Mane has lost form Ed. But do we really need to replace him? Supporters at times do not want to see beyond goals and results! Mane despite not playing well is still trying and working hard whereas someone like Jota presses half heartedly but he is getting the goals so people are ok with it. Though his press was better today but still it is no where close to the pressure that Mane Bobby Mo apply. Last year, people were ok to let Salah go and Mane was called the main man! This is the reality of our times and expect loyalty from players!

{Ed0666's Note - my reasons for selling mane are I feel his head has been turned so his appetite has gone also he’s 29 and we can still get a reasonable fee as we are a sell to buy club/self sustainable or whatever you wanna call it. We need to revamp the team.

9.) 10 Apr 2021 19:16:45
Agreed kopforever and now we are seeing the disadvantage of not having that quality through the squad to fall back on. I’m in agreement that more than just a bit of an overhaul is needed. We’re not suddenly going to be world class again next season.

10.) 10 Apr 2021 19:31:47
I echo what Ed said above 👍🏼.

{Ed0666's Note - I second that 😂

11.) 10 Apr 2021 19:47:13
One thing that is certain. Is there are quite a few players in the squad that Klopp has little to no trust in.

12.) 10 Apr 2021 19:49:05
I totally agree with you eds666 on the players that need to go also the Greek lad will need replacing clearly he’s not up to covering for robo as we’ve never seen him.

13.) 10 Apr 2021 20:04:37
Bledd mate think defenders, midfield will be enough coz can't see a huge problem with our attacking options when you've got fermino, mane, jota, Salah, Elliott if he comebacks all can play striker positions if needed except Elliott maybe. Getting defenders and "Creative" midfield is must for me.

14.) 10 Apr 2021 20:47:08
Agree with Ed above a bit of a rebuild is needed. (Beware this might be a long post, with very little insight)

Although selling some of these players may be difficult they need to go
Get rid of:
Adrian (Not good enough/ contact expires)
Karius (Not good enough)
Matip (Too injury prone)
Phillips (Klopp doesn’t seem to like him and a season of not playing is not going to do his value any good)
Davies (Again seems like Klopp is not a fan, never seen him play so no idea if he’s good enough)
Tsimikas (Same as above)
Grujic (Same as above)
Ox (too injury prone/ hasn’t hit heights of pre-injury - although may stay due to home grown issues)
Keita (too injury prone)
Wijnaldum (Contract expiring
Mane ( Huge fan but seems not interested, form is terrible, aging, cash in while he’s worth a significant amount)
Origi (Not good enough)
Shaqiri (Not good enough
Wilson (Not good enough)
Awoniyi (Not good enough)

Also get rid of some youngsters who are not good enough e. g. Ojo etc.

Also reevaluate minamino at the end of the season as I believe there is some promise for a squad player there but possibly let go if trouble settling in continues.

No idea whether Grabara is good enough for a back up but I doubt it.

Then loan out youngsters e. g Williams, Koumetio etc.

I would then look to bring in:
Back up GK - no idea who - cheap but better than Adrian please
Back up LB (youth prospect) - not sure who, possibly larouci or another academy prospect can step up? )
Konate (concerns over injury history but hopefully worst behind him)
Kabak (good value for money young 4th choice)
Bissouma (provide options in midfield + cover for Fabinho) or possibly Berge (cheaper)
Bellingham (Never going to happen I know but looks quality whenever I see him and home grown and incredibly young)
Neto (good young prem proven winger who can play on either side) or possibly Raphina
Striker (Dream would be Mbappe/ Haaland/ Martinez - more realistic is Daka or someone along those lines)

This would leave a squad of

Alisson
New GK
Kelleher

Trent
Neco Williams
Van Dijk
Konate
Gomez
Kabak
Robertson
New young back up left back

Fabinho
Bissouma
Henderson
Thiago
Jones
Bellingham
Milner
(Ox? )

Jota
Neto
Salah
Elliott
Firmino
Daka
(Minamino? )

I believe this would revitalise the squad, keeping the key experienced players but supplementing them with high potential youth who can develop into their replacements.
Would require a fairly significant outlay which we are unlikely to see. 5 players pushing for first team football and 2 young backups.

15.) 10 Apr 2021 21:33:43
Totally agree JK23 re miss placed passing of the ball- we attempted the Hollywood pass far too much today, even when there was no space to run in behind the defence!

16.) 10 Apr 2021 22:05:50
Liverpool fan1, if this was our team next season is be so happy! Daka/ Neto/ Jota would last us for a good few years. Neto is the player is want the most tbh, looks quality.

17.) 10 Apr 2021 22:06:26
I felt we needed to revamp a bit earlier, but we really need to sort things out early summer. I was brought up on Shankly and Paisley, they would always look to improve and if someone was dropping off they would be gone. Its hard, but has to be done.

18.) 11 Apr 2021 07:11:16
Someone has been playing too much Championship Manager.

19.) 11 Apr 2021 08:09:37
Thunderbird 2, a bit too much, really with the names being flung out there, some of which LFC prolly have no interest in.

Great bit of play from firmino. Glad to see it end in a goal. Some of the sh! tty comments about bobby on this page are embarrassing for so called Liverpool supporters.

1.) 28 Feb 2021 23:34:18
Agree with you completely. The genius of the man is mindboggling. For example look at the goal he scored today. He was surrounded by 4-5 players as he was dribbling, he calculated the amount of space needed, the arrival of the opposing foot against the ball, and then hit the ball wide of the goal, enough to make sure the deflection sent it into the net. All under one second. He's simply under appreciated; it's a tragic shame.

Aray 🤣🤣 brilliant 👏.

So i had a shower just before the game, was getting dressed and was going to put on my blue jumper and it just hit me, wtf am i doing wearing a blue jumper on a match day. Blue the opposite of red. That blue jumper that smothers my support and won't let my cosmic encouragement reach the team. So into the corner with the jumper and on with my 'lets talk about six baby' t shirt. What a difference it made, brilliant result, fantastic performance and superb goals. Im trying to think, was I wearing that feckin jumper these last few games.

Gregred

1.) 16 Feb 2021 22:41:42
Bin the jumper mate.

2.) 16 Feb 2021 23:36:20
Hopefully that's not your 1st shower since Xmas mate. 👀.

Watching the arsenal v man utd game is a good reminder of how lucky we are to have a team like Liverpool to support.

Really? ‘Pray for the squad’? let me know how that works out for you. How about letting the team management figure it out, after all they’ve plenty of experience in this field and a good track record.

How’s he being bitter? Sterling dived and got a penalty that never was. If that was any other nationality the English pundits would be all over them. Its like that forever.
And as for var, yet another bullsh! t decision.

Yes it was real emotional interview by alisson and the group celebration after the goal was fantastic to see.
Not sure how you know they all hold ‘god’ in their hearts though, whatever that means?

Id like to see how he would fare in a better league but from the signs he looks like he could have something. Nowhere near being able for Liverpool but 5+ years who knows.
On a personal note i find it hard to have anything good to say about rangers and will admit i was disappointed when steve went there to manage. But that's only my opinion, others will no doubt think it was a great move.
