I hate doing these kind of posts. But I suppose this is what the sites for. A mate of mine is brothers with a top Liverpool 'scout' (or something along those lines) anyway he's he was something to do with the Emre Can deal i seen pictures of him with Can on his phone and knew he'd signed way before it was official. Anyway he's said Nathaniel Clyne is done and we'll hear about it soon

Much appreciated.

This summers biggest news will be that LFC will rename the club to FC Liverhampton. Unfortunately we don´t play a similar system as them, which is affecting the players performances.

2.) 18 Jun 2015 19:13:47
Still a great piece of recruitment! Best right back in the prem last year.

3.) 18 Jun 2015 19:14:52
I think the players would benefit tremendously if we added white stripes to our kit.

It would give the shirts character.

4.) 18 Jun 2015 19:26:16
Might as well buy the whole club instead of expanding Anfield

5.) 18 Jun 2015 19:33:34
#dwarfonaboat

It seems that you rate Clyne, can you please tell me what his qualities are?

6.) 18 Jun 2015 20:10:52
I remember way back we had gold pinstripes does that count?

7.) 18 Jun 2015 20:19:56
Regardless of what his qualities are, I can say with a large degree of certainty that he will be made look distinctly average when he is placed into whichever of Brodges 15 systems/formations the dice decides he will play next season. The man is incapable of making a team defensively sound and the defense, Clyde included, will suffer massively again because of it.

8.) 18 Jun 2015 21:07:26
Am I the only one who slightly wonders if we should, in fact, have gone after Soares. Given Southampton's success in replacing the players we signed last year, it seems logical!

9.) 18 Jun 2015 22:48:12
They know what they're doing. We don't.

10.) 18 Jun 2015 23:35:25
From what I've seen his qualities are he has a good touch is powerful and likes to get forward all qualities that are similar to Wisdom's so in my opinion he's a good addition but one that is not really nesesary.
I like Wisdom and would much prefer he was given a chance but it looks like the poor lad will be either sat watching most weeks or loaned out again. Also what was Roy Hodgson's recent point about Clynes attitude all about? I'm sure I read he was left out of the last england game because of something!

11.) 19 Jun 2015 07:14:44
Im pretty sure Ed002 stated in a different post above this that Liverpool have had their bid rejected. Hardly a done deal as you suggest OP.

21 Jun 2014 11:18:45
I don't normally come on and fire questions at the eds,, but is there any truth in the 'supposed interest' in Raheem Sterling from Real Madrid Ed002?

DBol

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of any specific interest in Raheem Sterling but, obviously, he has been playing well and clubs will be aware of that. Generally, European sides are wary of English players as they tend to struggle to settle in overseas - language, culture, food etc..}

26 May 2014 10:15:39
It's Mario Balloteli this morning. Are these journalists just plucking random names out of a hat?

DBol

{Ed002's Note - We dealt with that yesterday DBol.}

04 Jan 2014 11:28:53
Liverpool want Alberto Monero

DBol

{Ed002's Note - I think it unlikely that Alberto Moreno will be sold in the January transfer window. The full release clause for Spanish clubs is being asked by Sevilla and that has so far put off interest from Chelsea, Cardiff, Spurs and Real Madrid. Manchester United may well be one of the clubs that has also had him looked at.}

02 Jan 2014 20:18:26
Seems to be everywhere now Salah will become a Liverpool player over the next few days. Just want to say hats off to Ed002 who told us about the interest in Salah weeks ago. Shows that this site is still the best for getting the transfer info. Where's Macca though? Still hungover from NYE maybe?

We Must keep Coutinho. He's been the Best player in the league this weekend by a mile.
Destroying the Arsenal midfield on his own at times.

DBol

1.) 14 Aug 2016 22:09:42
It looks like he has decided to stay. Ecstatic about that. I didn't want him here if that was against his will, but it is patently obvious that is not the case and keeping him here will be a massive boost!

Laughable that some people were saying he wouldn't get in PSG's team. He would've been their best player hands down.

2.) 14 Aug 2016 22:42:07
Just really hoping he isn't injured and it was just a bad cramp.

3.) 14 Aug 2016 23:10:52
Laughable that you think he "decided" to stay? was it that Barcelona didn't come calling?

4.) 14 Aug 2016 23:39:19
If he wanted out, he could've forced his way out. That is what agents are for. You honestly think he couldn't spike interest from Barca, Juventus, Bayern, PSG with a bit of leg pulling from an agent? All teams looking for players in his ilk.

He is here because unlike Suarez and Sterling before him, he has opted not to "play the game" so to speak. He could've gone to almost any team on the planet if he wanted to be difficult and force it. So rather than criticise him, and pretend he wouldn't have had options, can't we just praise one of our best players and appreciate he has decided not to kick up a fuss to force a move?

No pleasing some. You just have to take pops at our players. Even those who have done nothing wrong. We know he is good enough for them teams, which is why people get so emotional at the thought of him leaving and start crying about it.

5.) 15 Aug 2016 00:55:14
Forced his way out to where exactly, MK? If there are no offers on the table, there's nothing an agent can do for you. Ed already said that PSG were interested but that he wasn't their first nor second choice which is true as they signed Ben Arfa instead and no bids were ever made for him hence, he stayed and I'm happy he did as he's shown that he's our best player and you don't sell your best players without a fight. Unlike Coutinho, there were firm bids for Suarez and Sterling so we sold them on our own terms. I doubt we would have sold Coutinho anyway even if a bid came for him.

6.) 15 Aug 2016 01:06:59
Couldn't agree more MK.

Excellent post.

7.) 15 Aug 2016 01:36:34
Coutinho would walk into every team on the planet bar Barca. Be grateful he plays for us guys. Stop complaining about anything whenever u feel like it.

8.) 15 Aug 2016 08:17:36
MK you on the lash lad? Who's place would he take at Barca? Don't mistake no one wanting to buy him with loyalty! Sterling an Suarez forced there way out because they was wanted not because there agent convinced city an Barcelona that they needed them. We all want the best players an for them to want us. Today tho someone points out that couts was below par until his goal he wasn't knocking him. You have turned a simple comment into player / poster bashing. When really there was nothing to argue about it was a truthful observation not malicious. Thought lallana was crap didn't see you jump to his defence? Why not defend Moreno?

9.) 15 Aug 2016 08:52:11
@scouseJohn Countiho is a far better player than Andre Gomes in midfield who Barcelona just paid big bucks for.

He is also better than Di Maria and Lucas at PSG.

But please all do continue to moan at our players (even when they're playing well and there is nothing to moan about) after all like Ed002 says, it is becoming the Liverpool way.

10.) 15 Aug 2016 10:17:37
Who moaned at our players puzzle? Original post was couts crap until he scored. Was he wrong? My only problem with couts is I know if Barcelona come calling his cases are already packed. That was my reply. You don't know what type of fan I am so don't judge me! Quoting the eds haha haven't you got your own opinion?

12 Aug 2016 14:14:23
Time to replace Sturridge in my opinion. What's the point in having him? I'm guessing he's on amazing wages, they could be going to someone who actually plays for Liverpool.

DBol

1.) 12 Aug 2016 15:06:41
The fact that when he is fit, he's one of the best strikers in the league might be the reason why we've kept him. He was out for a week and is now back in training, so stop being such a pessimist.

2.) 12 Aug 2016 15:23:16
He scores goals.

That's why.

He would also score more than most strikers in the league even if he played half the season!

3.) 12 Aug 2016 16:05:55
I did a quick search of the major strikers of the premier league era. I didn't check them all but I checked all the major strikers, do you know who has a better scoring rate for their club than Studge has for Liverpool? I'll give you a hint, it's none of these; Henry, Shearer, Fowler, Owen, Torres, Suarez, Kane, Vardy, Van Persie (Utd era or Arsenal era), Rooney, Drogba or Berbatov.

Still can't figure it out? There's three, Aguero, Van Nistolroy and Cole (Newcastle era not Utd era) . Studge scores 5 goals for us every 7 games, he's brilliant, and you know what, if he plays 50% of the games or even less that's fine because we have a squad and we have back up who can fill in till he's ready to play again.

We shouldn't be doubting Studge we should be celebrating every minute we get to see him on the pitch because he's the kind of player who will win us the title, he's that good and that's the point in having him.

4.) 12 Aug 2016 16:26:29
Hallelujah Muscatred.

5.) 12 Aug 2016 17:13:50
p. s. thanks for the edit Eds, apologies for my bad manners.

{Ed041's Note - no problem.

6.) 12 Aug 2016 17:27:17
Sturridges ability has never been in question. It's whether or not we can field him twice a week for an entire season that's cause for concern. That said it's not really all that worrying and we are again putting one of our best players down for working his body too hard. give the guy a break.

7.) 12 Aug 2016 17:38:45
With the options that we now have, I`m no longer bothered if Studge is fit or not. However, he should not expect to unseat Origi and/ or Firmino when he gets back and if these two are fit and firing because Klopp won`t be having any of that. he will have to fight for his place in that case, something he may not be used to.

8.) 12 Aug 2016 19:09:27
The only problem is that if Daniel missed half a season, Balo and Benteke are sold that only leaves Origi which is fine but options then are low. I'm not sold on Ings, he has movement and technique but as for goal scoring, well let's say I don't think he's a 20 goal striker. Origi remains untested really. I'm not sold on using Firmino as I think he's inconsistent in front of goal and playing him too far forward takes something away from his game. Let's just see how fit Daniel stays this season. I sounded a bit unfair about Origi as he has looked superb at times, especially since he's bulked up. I think it's a make it break season for a lot of our players, Lallana, Can, Sturridge and more.

9.) 12 Aug 2016 19:15:16
Origi has a hell of a lot to prove and has to consistently find the form he had the last 8 games or so, a season is 38 games not 7 or 8.

10.) 12 Aug 2016 22:10:28
Yes we have a good stock of strikers, but to sell a player who is plagued with injuries is not the best move when they have the quality Sturridge has. Klopp clearly recognises his quality and the team are trying to get him in good shape, a small hip injury which he is already recovering from and back to light training.

11.) 12 Aug 2016 23:31:36
Bazza, it will come to a point where that decision may have to b made as Studge is of no use to us if he can't play regularly and is always injured. Just a thought.

12.) 13 Aug 2016 00:16:07
Klopp won't have any patience for passengers. Sturridge has to step up his fitness.

13.) 13 Aug 2016 03:56:59
Spot on, Ron. If Studge doesn't shape up in time, he will get shipped out, ASAP. Benteke prolly thought the same thing. Where's he now? That's right, on his way out of the club.

06 Aug 2016 22:32:58
I think I was wrong about Mane :) and I'm so happy about that!
But I was completely right about Klavan and Grujic, we've got a couple of gems on our hands here reds. That header was World Class no doubt about it. He has to start in midfield I'm not bothered who makes way, need the goals from midfield and the boys a class act.

DBol

1.) 07 Aug 2016 04:41:24
he can take can's place and is already better than him.

But all of you will disagree.

Cheers.

2.) 07 Aug 2016 10:05:22
Fair play dbol. Not many have the stones to come on here and own up to that. I wonder if frankly will if GW has a good season.

02 Aug 2016 10:07:23
First pre-season game I've watched live last night.
Even though it bares no difference to the premier league, I'm not excited by the players on display.
I'm going to say I'm looking forward to see Coutinho, Ojo Karius and Grujic, but there's nobody going to smash us into that top 4. Anyone else think we might need more talent in the squad? Very laboured.

DBol

1.) 02 Aug 2016 11:00:49
I was there too DBol. Thought the game was okay in patches, just an overall lack of coordination. Did you see the Q&A with Luis Garcia and Robbie Fowler at the Tavern?

2.) 02 Aug 2016 11:04:44
wow you were impressed with Karius play? Interesting.

3.) 02 Aug 2016 11:16:28
Not sure how you can suggest we need more players when you have just watched one preseason game with most the new guys missing.

4.) 02 Aug 2016 11:22:22
Iconic fail there mate. I'm looking 'forward' to seeing him next season. You should've pointed out Grujic aswel but you didn't realise. Interesting.

5.) 02 Aug 2016 11:26:37
@Dboi you don't think Sturridge is a striker good enough for top 4? Interesting. Nor Firmino?

6.) 02 Aug 2016 11:37:21
I think the point about quality is definitely a good one. But it will just take to get the right players in and weed out those who won't contribute.

7.) 02 Aug 2016 11:47:28
You should have continued to not watch the friendlies Dbol.
Absolutely no point at all, I think the only matches I have watched in years are the charity shields.
Mane is a player that should get you excited, as long as he gets decent cover at left back anyway so he gets free rein to bomb up and down the wing.

8.) 02 Aug 2016 12:24:58
Some people are never happy and always want more! We've had a good window and except for a left back we've covered every angle. Maybe too much in the midfield area. Who could we have bought to improve us again then DBOL and push us into the top 4 as we are obviously going to fail miserably in your eyes? Is there any point in you watching another game as you obviously think we are going to struggle this coming season?! Judge the team in January after a tough Xmas period not after a handful of friendlies with no settled side and key players not featuring.

9.) 02 Aug 2016 13:59:04
We're not a million miles away. I actually think our biggest advantage this season is having no Europe.
All I'm saying is we'll probably fall just short of 4th, not really added anyone who makes you think he'll make a big difference.

10.) 02 Aug 2016 14:25:07
DBol, you always seem to have something negative to say about the team. I don`t mind the banter and your opinions but you say you aren`t happy with the players we got? In your infinite wisdom, who could we have gotten? Please, tell us because all I see in your post is negativity. You watched the Roma game as your first preseason game yet you missed the 5 games before that and you are judging the players of worthless friendlies? Who does that? You do know you get nothing for playing well or winning in these games as they are used as training excercises and nothing more, at the outset, right? At least allow them to play some league games first (you know, the ones that really matter) before judging them. Sheesh!

11.) 02 Aug 2016 18:49:30
I think I'm just honest cincyred. I Said at the start of last season this Liverpool squad was one of the worst, come the end of the season we finished 8th joint worst place we've ever finished in the Prem.
I'm completely honest and I go the majority of the games so I can promise I know my Team.
You were all saying the squad is amazing and there won't be many changes and once again you were all wrong and Klopp is spending over £100 million changing the team completely. I probably was expecting a hand full of German players this window and turning into a proper team if I'm being honest. Maybe that's where the lack of excitement comes from. Seems like we've spent most the money on Low Prem players and Championship players. Karius and Grujic look good though mate.

01 Aug 2016 14:52:32
I can see Origi developing his game this season. Possibly passing the ability of Hendo and Can ect. I really think he'll be a top player for us, come the end of this season I think we'll all be talking of him in our best 5 players.

DBol

1.) 01 Aug 2016 15:21:08
He will make quite a few people feel quite silly by the end of this season in my opinion. We've got the best of the Belgium forwards, he has the attitude to reach the highest plateau. Perhaps Rodgers was right?

2.) 01 Aug 2016 16:34:39
I don't mind eating humble pie.

3.) 01 Aug 2016 16:36:38
Many disagree with me but Origi look like certain young Patrick Kluivert in his heydays.

4.) 01 Aug 2016 17:23:38
I think he has the lot. Skill, physical power, pace, intelligence and a good work ethic.

5.) 01 Aug 2016 17:58:24
He is a very good player indeed. He has all the attributes to be top class in the future.

6.) 01 Aug 2016 18:34:19
IMO, Origi reminds me of a young Lewandowski, a player Klopp signed as a 21 yr old and created into arguably the best CF in the world. Just like a young Lewa, Origi has ALL the tools necessary to be a modern CF and Dennis already mentioned them. When the starter Lucas Barrios left BVB, Klopp didn`t panic because he knew he had a ready made replacement for him hence if Studge were ever to leave, he wouldn`t be bothered either and neither would I. The sad thing for ustho, is that Benteke possesses the same tools BUT he couldn`t even be arsed to do the most basic of things i. e no work ethic.

7.) 01 Aug 2016 20:00:46
and what's a bit scary is that Origi is only 21 yrs old, just think of the season after this one, he will be immense .

8.) 01 Aug 2016 21:49:53
This is a young man who was slated before he actually joined the team .
I think we need to give players more time instead of slating them before they have even kicked a ball in anger . Take Lucas, he was booed at and knocked as a young man moving to a different country, a few seasons ago I think his name was first on the team sheet and I will be gutted if and when he moves on . A Great player for Liverpool imo.

When we signed him I actually thought we'd bought like a slow right midfielder in the making with a good right peg and a work horse, sort of Beckham esc
to me he looks completely out of place playing in the middle and honestly I think Can and Grujic are miles better.
Top lad though I like Hendo but definitely not captain material or guaranteed starter for me.

DBol

{Ed001's Note - I really do not know what on earth you were watching. One thing Hendo has is pace. Just shows how little some people know about him, seems all his knockers are those with not a single solitary clue about him. Sad that they just want to get on the back of a player just because they haven't a clue about his game. If you think Can is better, then I fear for you. If you have decided Grujic is better already, then it can only be because you are a boo boy who wants to get on Hendo's back.}

We should've bought a proper top quality striker with the Suarez money.
All that "goals from midfield" "we have sturridge" nonsense set us back 6/ 7 years.
The only reason Liverpool football club isn't competing at the Top year in year out for the past 20 years is Failings in the transfer market.
The way we spend massive money on crap players is absolutely shocking.

DBol

{Ed023's Note - But yet when a manager like Klopp refuses to enter the market because the right player isn't available; him, the owners and whoever else gets abuse?}
