Firstly, thank you to Ed002 for all the effort you've put into the sharkopods, it's greatly appreciated!

I don't know about everyone else but I am getting a little tired of Salah pining for a move to Real. I know he's still doing his thing on the pitch but after the whole Suarez and Coutinho sagas I can't help but be somewhat concerned.

I'd like us to go for Suso. I know we aren't interested but he's available, he can play the CAM role as well as right wing and he's already said he'd like to play for Liverpool again.

Cotsi

1.) 02 Jan 2019 23:03:54
Suso is a completely different type of player. His lack of speed isn't a drawback in his current league. I reckon that ship has sailed.

2.) 03 Jan 2019 01:06:50
It could be him, it could be his agent looking for a massive payday, or maybe he’s perfectly happy at Liverpool after all? . as long as he focusses 100% on Liverpool this season and is a positive influence in the dressing room and for the club (which he is) there is no point in worrying about anything else but the league.

3.) 03 Jan 2019 05:01:09
Who cares honestly. let's enjoy the now. If he leaves, he leaves.

4.) 03 Jan 2019 10:30:40
Exactly TjRed if he is banging in the goals the worst that can happen is that is price goes up - now if he suddenly gets a bad back I would be suspicious. I love Salah and hope he gives us everything and we can give him everything.

5.) 03 Jan 2019 12:18:47
Do you really think that Salah wants to be Sergio Ramos's teammate?

6.) 03 Jan 2019 12:39:46
According to Ed002, Ramos will be off in the summer so I doubt that will be an issue for Salah. The question is whether Real will want Salah. They seem fixated on one of Mbappe or Neymar, and with PSG's FFP issues, i think they will get one of the two. Salah will still be at LFC next season.

7.) 03 Jan 2019 12:45:53
Madrid will always be in a beautiful warm weather location, competing for trophies, and paying lots of money. Almost every single player fancies a crack at real if they get the chance.

8.) 03 Jan 2019 14:19:08
I think Madrid will go for Mbappe and Hazard, Salah will still be here next year thankfully.

9.) 03 Jan 2019 17:04:15
Madrid’s pretty chilly in the winter.

10.) 04 Jan 2019 00:33:23
Fully agree cotsi sort a replacement out now though and let him go in the summer once new signing beds in.

11.) 04 Jan 2019 00:31:14
I don’t think he is completely happy. I’m not sure he will leave this season, but he seems to have something on his mind!

12.) 04 Jan 2019 10:52:22
This will not be a popular opinion but it is mine. I love Salah and want him to stay at our club for the foreseeable. Real will be looking to replace Ronaldo who is a big game player like Messi. Cometh the hour cometh the man. For me Salah has yet to prove that he can turn up for all the big games and Win it when it counts. The same can be said about Hazard and Neymar. For me I can only see Real putting all their eggs in 1 basket and going for Mbappe who turned up for a World Cup final looking like it was any other game. Like I said I know it’s not going to be a popular opinion but the 4 players named would cost 150 mill plus each and for that money real would want a match winner for all occasions and Coutinho has proven you don’t always get what you pay for.

01 Nov 2018 20:20:46
One of the lads on the live chat earlier mentioned Fabinho possibly moving to PSG, this is just a journalist having a quiet day at the office right eds?

Also, top thanks to Benny, Ed001, Ed002 and the rest of the lads for making this happen. Round 2 here we go!

Cotsi

{Ed002's Note - It is probably based on PSG having a long term interest in Fabinho, it not being an easy start for him in England and PSG needing a defensive midfield player (they pretty much only have an aging Lass Diarra).}

1.) 01 Nov 2018 23:03:20
Oh dear, that would be a real shame if this came to fruition. Can't say I would be devastated but it wouldn't be ideal.

Are you likely to be there for next years game Ed? Would be great to meet you!

{Ed002's Note - I would like to be there and will try but my life is going to be hectic for a couple of years due to some commitments.}

2.) 02 Nov 2018 08:09:39
Is it putting two and two together or would they still want him?

{Ed002's Note - They have a list of five DM players I know they have been looking at - I suspect if offered on loan they would be open to the idea.}

31 Aug 2017 10:42:50
I rarely post and that's only to give my opinion, I've never posted a rumour before. However, a guy I work with said his brother spoke to Lallana today who's adamant Coutinho is staying.

I am skeptical and if I read this I would hit the unbelievable button, just passing on what I've heard.

We live in Bournemouth so it's not infeasible he does know lallana but I still doubt this is true myself.

Cotsi

1.) 31 Aug 2017 10:56:10
Not sure I'd believe it if i heard Lallana say it myself mate.

2.) 31 Aug 2017 10:59:15
I love rumours like this.

3.) 31 Aug 2017 11:10:08
Always a "guy who I work with" post lol.

4.) 31 Aug 2017 11:11:41
Was Lallana at that strip club he went to with Hendo?

5.) 31 Aug 2017 11:13:59
Has your mate ever talked to Lallana before?

6.) 31 Aug 2017 11:41:11
My mate hasn't but his brother has been friends with him for years (school) . I don't doubt he's spoken to him, I doubt the info lallana handed over.

7.) 31 Aug 2017 12:41:28
I'm with MK I don't actually doubt AL would say that, my question would be whether he would say that anyway regardless and to be clear that isn't having a dig, if anything I would expect a player to be cagey in that situation.

Please tell me there isn't any truth in the rumour that Real Madrid want Gomez. Would be such a mistake letting him go, in my opinion.

Cotsi

1.) 22 Dec 2021 13:58:02
Do we need him that badly or better to sacrifice him for a top top midfielder?

2.) 22 Dec 2021 14:00:39
The lad wants to play football.

3.) 22 Dec 2021 14:14:40
Never going to happen mate.

4.) 22 Dec 2021 14:45:01
It would come as no surprise if he was looking to move for first team football. At the moment his club and international career is on hold. Preferably I would rather a loan but as we don’t have a pot to p##s in I wouldn’t be surprised to see the money men cash in.

5.) 22 Dec 2021 15:44:04
OP, I wouldn't hold my breathe on that one, man.

6.) 22 Dec 2021 15:49:10
He has struggled with fitness all season long and clearly has not recovered from his season ending injury with the same grace that van Dijk and Matip have. Make no mistake though places are up for grabs still and i see no need to be talking about Gomez being shipped out as of yet. He’s one of the best centre backs in the world for his age group and will get better as time goes on. He is the future and they must be patient with him.

7.) 22 Dec 2021 17:06:32
I love Gomez but may be our medical team knows something we don't? I trust Klopp and the wider team to get this decision right.

8.) 22 Dec 2021 17:17:06
AW, i don't think it is his knee that has kept hi out this season, but a calf issue I believe. Personally, I still think Gomez and VVD is the best CB pairing we have.

9.) 22 Dec 2021 18:46:42
If everyone is fit and well, I think that the manager’s starting CB pairing next season will be VVD and Konate and I think Matip will be first choice back-up.

Joe is far too good to be a 4th choice and I would hate to see him become a general ‘Jack of all trades’ rather than a top notch CB which he has the potential to be.

Whilst it might be a case of ‘the one that got away’ for us I think it might - like Nat Phillips - be best for the player’s career to find a better opportunity elsewhere, especially as neither of the players mentioned seem to have Klopp’s eye.

19 Sep 2020 08:08:25
The "why Jota over Werner" question is fairly simple in my mind.

- Werner would have wanted to be a starter
- Werner's wages would have been astronomical in comparison to Jota's
- RBL would have likely required us to put a significant amount up front, whilst it seems we have managed to negotiate a rather favourable set of payment terms with Wolves. Remember, a lot of the issue is cash flow, not FFP

I am not in the know, obviously, just trying to put some sensible reasoning behind why we went with Jota, which I am elated by. With Klopp guiding him, I see him being an excellent addition to the squad.

Cotsi

1.) 19 Sep 2020 09:36:11
Spot on, Cotsi. RBL wanted ALL the money upfront, reportedly. Also, Werner wanted 270k in wages, allegedly. If any of this is true then yeah, Chelsea are welcome to him cos they can do that cos they really needed him to upgrade their attack. Our highest earner is Mo Salah is on 220k a week and is one of the best forwards on the planet so 270k for Werner is a non-starter, IMO.

Werner does not upgrade our attack. He would have complimented it for sure and would not have been a consistent starter. At 270k a week, Werner should be starting every week and scoring every other week. That would not have happened here so it is only normal we pulled out.

2.) 19 Sep 2020 09:55:02
Just seen this online. If true tremendous business and well done to the owners and money men at the club. For me the signing of Thiago and Jota were pushed from Klopp and it shows what a great working relationship FSG have with him as I don’t believe another manager would have been backed like this in these times.

If we signed Timo Werner, Lewis and Sarr this summer we would have had to pay £120m upfront.

Instead and to the boo's of the FSG OUT boys Tsimikas, Thiago and Jota were signed paying £20m upfront.

The club’s patience and sound business practice saved us £100m this summer. We're not in debt or had to borrow at high interest rates to buy for the sake. This is how our owners have run the club.

3.) 19 Sep 2020 09:56:43
Rm how do you know Werner wouldn’t have been a consistent starter. Did Klopp tell you that 😉.

4.) 19 Sep 2020 10:11:58
Both bench players. To be honest I think we’ve overpaid a bit for jota, but I do like him a lot. Loves a goal vs man utd too.

5.) 19 Sep 2020 10:17:00
Jk
Can I ask how you know that Werner, Sarr and Lewis would have to be paid up front? I am guessing you are taking a punt there. Also, money has to be paid. Only paying a small amount now (if true), is just kicking the can down the road. It still needs to be paid.

6.) 19 Sep 2020 10:24:01
Yes Irish, but the issue is right now. We don’t have the money so this was the only way to buy quality players for the squad. If it keeps us at the top, it’s worth it. I personally think, one, or both of Mané and Salah are gone next summer. That will pay for these transfers plus replacements for them. That’s just my opinion though, I could be talking complete waffle.

7.) 19 Sep 2020 10:24:03
I think Ed002 has already said that Jota would want to be a starter, or words to that effect.

8.) 19 Sep 2020 10:33:29
Wasn’t a starter at wolves so I highly doubt he will expect, or have been promised, to be one now.

9.) 19 Sep 2020 10:36:18
Touche, JK. Seriously tho, I said Werner would not have been a consistent starter due to the fee and wages considered. Anyone on those wages should be starting every game consistently. That would not have happened with the front 3 we have. Anyone can see that. And YES, Klopp did tell me that, lol.

10.) 19 Sep 2020 10:46:33
Diogo Jota, 34 games in the PL, 7 as sub, Europa League 14 games last season. Seems like a starter to me Costi 👍.

11.) 19 Sep 2020 11:39:05
Irish I don’t mate. It was copied from online.

Rm only messing mate I knew you would take it well.

12.) 19 Sep 2020 11:45:34
Irish Rover, RBL apparently made it clear they wanted a massive chunk of the fee up front, they weren’t interested instalments, as for Sarr, I heard we were quoted £50m by Watford (they want at least as much as they got for Richarlison and they don’t need to sell) and given the Pozzi’s are still peeved at us about Zielinski, they probably would have also asked for a large up front payment too.

13.) 19 Sep 2020 13:10:17
Makes sense, 6Times.

14 Jul 2020 23:07:54
Sad to see Klopp and Mourinho publicly disagreeing with the decision to exonerate Man City of their ban from the UCL. I will always choose to listen to Ed001/ 2 over the media, they have proven that right over many years. I thought better of our beloved manager than to stoop to levels of disregarding a proper investigation behind what can only be described as a witch-hunt. As Ed002 has said all along, the original charge was based off nothing concrete. Don't get me wrong, Klopp is a Liverpool legend and I love that we have the best manager in the world right now. He just didn't need to get involved in this particular subject.

Cotsi

{Ed002's Note - Don't forget that Liverpool went after Manchester City during the lock down as well - with their extremely embarrassing letter to CAS.}

1.) 15 Jul 2020 01:23:52
Agreed with comments Cotsi, I would rather Klopp had just shut his mouth about the whole subject, for me its got nothing to do with LFC.

2.) 15 Jul 2020 02:00:36
I don’t have any problem with what Klopp or Mourinho has said.

3.) 15 Jul 2020 03:54:58
And the incedent regarding that scouting list.

4.) 15 Jul 2020 07:12:47
Chelsea among others also sent a letter to CAS so it i seems a lot of clubs are not happy with Man City conduct
I not sure but it must something serious for all those teams to sent a letter.

5.) 15 Jul 2020 07:44:42
Clickbait headlines, They were not attacking City, they were both criticizing how FFP is run and the lack of clarity.

Thats a big problem with media, pose a question then spin it out of context. Big part of what's wrong with the world.

6.) 15 Jul 2020 08:55:56
It’s strange how 8 clubs wrote a letter to the CAS. Poor judgement by them all. FSG and the higher management of these clubs need to get a grip as much as klopp and Mourinho do.

If they don’t think FFP rules are working fair enough but to comment on the city situation is stupid.

7.) 15 Jul 2020 09:37:36
All they said was why fine them if innocent u did it or u didn’t!

8.) 15 Jul 2020 11:45:48
LFC should have stayed well away from this mess but the arrogance of the upper management is deafening at this point.

9.) 15 Jul 2020 14:11:23
Seems to me some posters haven’t read the whole of the comments, just the click bait headlines (and the whataboutery thrown in for good measure) . Jurgen and Moo are both quite right. Citeh’s non-cooperation was a clear pointer as to their innocence or not. Justice is always for the richest; just the way of the world sadly.

29 Dec 2019 16:55:42
Hey Ed02, merry Christmas! Quick question hopefully, I'm having a debate with someone about release clauses etc and I've essentially quoted what you posted recently but he's a sceltic. He's saying we paid £7.5m release clause for Minamino, have the actual details been made available yet? If so, do you know what the actual transfer fee was for the deal? Not looking for in depth finances as I know you don't like to discuss them. Thanks in advance.

Cotsi

{Ed002's Note - The transfer will be completed when the transfer window open and the figures are submitted to the TMS.}

03 Aug 2018 17:14:46
Ladies and gentlemen I have a question for you:

A guy I used to work with runs a fantasy Premier League auction every year before the season kicks off. I haven't been for a few years but the general gist is:

- Up to twenty, more like fifteen, managers turn up
- We have £50m to spend on a squad of 16 players
- You have to play 4-4-2
- I believe you can only have 3 players from one team but that may be wrong, for the purposes of this, let's assume I am right
- Starting with GKs, in order of team, the auctioneer reads down the full list of players and the managers auction for each
- Points are earned for both Premier League games and the FA cup

The few times I have done it I have seen different tactics, some go and blow the vast majority of their budget on one super player and pad the squad with sub-par players after that. Some spread their budget across, which is my preferred tactic.

What players do you think are underrated that could do a solid job this year?

I will post the list I have so far in a minute.

Cheers all.

Christos, obviously haven’t frequented the page much recently. Ed002 has repeatedly explained that we had pre spent much of our tournament winnings. I am a little concerned with where this money is coming from but I am also not Liverpool’s accountant, wish I was. Any recruiters lurking I’m fully qualified, come get me ;) . Either way, I trust the club to be doing the right thing and I imagine we are confident in sales of out of favour players rather than Mane.

Don’t think Thiago was done in time. Klopp said he couldn’t be part of the squad in his interview. Although I guess Klopp could be mistaken. Either way, I doubt he will be included until he gets some training with the team. Hope I’m wrong though.

And some people sooner than they should be because of this regime that are coming in to own Newcastle. You’re a piece of work if you think that’s behaviour that can be ignored. I loved lost prophets when I was younger, when I heard what Ian Watkins did, I vouched never to listen to them again.
