With Fabinho looking likely to leave, would Amrabat be looked at again to replace him?

ATred

{Ed002's Note - No - that option has long gone.}

1.) 13 Jul 2023 19:00:20
Thank goodness.

2.) 13 Jul 2023 19:10:23
Alright, thanks for the reply.

3.) 13 Jul 2023 20:05:53
Thank god.

4.) 14 Jul 2023 12:40:50
So does anyone else rate Albert Glifnard for LCB? Just asking for a friend.

31 Aug 2017 13:09:18
Ed's any news on any players leaving? Sahko, markovic, Kent, origi.

ATred

{Ed001's Note - nothing new, Origi has to have a medical if I remember correctly and should be announced tonight. The rest we are still awaiting offers.}

1.) 31 Aug 2017 13:18:39
Thanks Ed. We done well getting 6mil for origi on loan if true. I'll be glad when sahko and markovic are finally gone, waste of wages. Kent could do with a loan, get some regular playing time.

2.) 31 Aug 2017 13:31:37
Sahko must be a great coffee maker, maybe that's why we are waiting for £30 million.

3.) 31 Aug 2017 13:33:46
How we turned money for sahko is beggars belief what happens if no more bids come in?

It’s john Henry isn’t it?

2.) 03 Jun 2019 16:09:25
Yep, wearing an Adidas jacket with a liverbird on it.

3.) 03 Jun 2019 16:21:46
Think he's referring to the Adidas logo on his jacket.

4.) 03 Jun 2019 16:49:36
Hi gang,
Fantastic day in Madrid,
Done the BERNABÉU tour, well impressed,
Can’t be having MICHAEL OWENS BALLON D’OR in there trophy cabinet,
pretty sure he won it with us,
The fan park was extra special, a privilege to be there,
LETS TALK ABOUT SIX BABY,
LETS TALK ABOUT ORIGI,
LETS TALK ABOUT RAFA, FAGAN, JURGEN KLOPP, AND BOB PAISLEY,
LETS TALK ABOUT SIX

FANTASTIC.

5.) 03 Jun 2019 19:29:51
Maybe just an old one?

6.) 03 Jun 2019 19:31:54
Adidas made us when he first took over. Could just be one of his old jackets.

7.) 04 Jun 2019 02:39:12
Nice Wembley - let’s hope we hear that one next season from the Kop.

04 May 2019 15:36:23
I know klopp would not do it, but what are people's thoughts of having Gomez at RB and Trent as a right mid, this way we don't leave holes behind Trent and we get the attacking threat he offers with his crosses?

ATred

1.) 04 May 2019 15:45:38
To clarify, I mean against Barcelona, if firmino isn't fit to start.

2.) 04 May 2019 15:58:22
What about the defensive duties Klopp expects his mids to carry out? Assuming he would be a CM, would TAA be as defensively as good as a Milner, Henderson, Wijnaldum, Keita or even Ox, for that matter? Whose place would he take?

3.) 04 May 2019 16:12:12
I personally feel like Gomez should play as centre back, or not at all. We need goals, and Trent's excellent distribution could go a long way to finding said goals. If Trent play's in midfield, and Gomez at the back, then we'll still lose Trent's excellent crossing and, at the same time, have Trent playing in a very unfamiliar role against Barcelona - I wouldn't feel comfortable with that.

4.) 04 May 2019 16:19:17
I mean have Salah playing more as a striker with mane on the left and Trent on the right, more as a traditional right midfielder and keep midfield 3 as they are.

5.) 04 May 2019 16:25:31
It's a tricky one because I don't think the midfield as a 3 can provide width Do you mean in the Salah role? The right wing of the front 3 ATred? He definitely doesn't belong in the front 3 though!

Otherwise it means a change of formation which I don't see happening. We don't play with a right midfielder. I see what you mean though.

Regardless, I wouldn't be conservative against Barcelona any longer. We're 3-0 down. Start with TAA as right back.

6.) 04 May 2019 16:41:36
I would prefer Gomez at CB and Trent at RB as someone already suggested as well. The front three should be left alone as they are esp. if Bobbie is fit to start and even if he is, Trent is better bringing hell from RB cos he hast the whole right side of the field in front of him hence, he will be able to pick his spots.

7.) 04 May 2019 16:49:16
My thinking is if firmino can not start, then move Salah to play more as a striker, move Trent forward abit and keep him fixed on that right side to whip those crosses in and he would keep alba back as Trent would always be on that right side and not vacate the position like Salah does, thus nullifying the attacking threat of alba, Gomez at right back can sit there and keep coutinho quiet.
This is only if firmino can not start.

8.) 04 May 2019 17:09:17
I know that Trent's future is seen as a midfielder, but trying him in midfield for the first time against Barcelona is just suicide.

9.) 04 May 2019 18:11:44
For that we've sacrificed our creativity for 3 midfielders whose job is to track runners or fill the gaps and most if not all our creativity comes from our full-backs.

10.) 05 May 2019 01:51:29
I'd actually consider going 352 and having Trent and Andy as the wide men. Joe, Virgil and matip as CB.

Have fab and Gini play holding with someone more creative in front and Salah (if fit) and mane up front. In the event Salah is not fit I'd play origi and mane up front and have origi create space for mane and hold the ball up.

It looks defensive on paper but considering how high up Andy and Trent play and how much they attack it's not really.

11.) 05 May 2019 12:14:09
Too many changes to tactics will destroy us and are not necessary.
Play the same formation as we have all season just play the first 10 minutes like it’s the last 10.

13 Sep 2017 23:54:49
Great attacking. Terrible in defence.
Gomez played well
Moreno is playing well
We need to sort the centre backs out. Both of them aren't up to the level to be first choice.
We also need a midfielder who's first thought isn't to attack. Some one like matic who can just sit in front of the back four and give protection. Far to many times the midfielders tries to nip in to get the ball, misses and leaves a open pitch behind them.

1.) 14 Sep 2017 05:56:42
Lol you need a DM now? This is getting funny now. You had 2 months to buy one half decent Center midfielder and all you could afford was AOX! I have repeatedly said if your midfield is poor then your defense will always struggle against quality!

2.) 14 Sep 2017 07:05:44
You or we harry, which one is it? You red or blue?

3.) 14 Sep 2017 08:04:59
SG, Harry calls himself a "football fan" so he has no allegiance to anyone (so WTH is he doing here, you would ask) as he only posts on LFC websites "allegedlly". This are what he told me when I asked him if he was an LFC fan. He is not so he should be treated as such, IMO.

4.) 14 Sep 2017 08:23:16
Harry is a Kovacic fan primarily.
The fact that Kova plays football makes 'football' Harry's second love 😉

Tbf to Harry, pre-Kovacic he was always banging on (and on) about LFC needing to play with a CDM, DLP, OMG etc. These days I happen to agree with the need for a midfielder to protect the back 4 🤝.

5.) 14 Sep 2017 12:28:55
Ron, those were the days I thought he was actually an LFC fan BUT he revealed that he is not. He is not hence, will be treated as such.

6.) 14 Sep 2017 16:51:42
Harry even if we had a class midfield our defence would still be a shambles.
The GK is dodgy which makes the defenders bad.
The midfield is dodgy which makes the defenders bad.
Which one is it? i’m going to meet in the middle (as well as every other person who watches LFC) and say don’t blame the midfielders or the goalkeepers for how crap our defence is. We all know the defenders are crap.

And SG he is a "football fan" so i’m going to now take the plunge and say he could be a glory hunter until he admits who! XD.

I'm pleased with our signings this summer. Robertson has played well and will be a good for us when fully fit.
Solanke has impressed klopp that much that origi has had to go out on loan to get first team opportunities.
Salah is playing like he has been here for years. His pace is lethal.
Chamberlain is a raw talent and klopp can improve him like he has with other players.

Yes we could of improved the centre back area but VVD wasn't obtainable. No point buying someone of klopp doesn't want them and he is happy with the players he got at the moment. Also no point buying Lemar if coutinho is staying, let's just hope he doesn't go tomorrow and he can play for us at a level like he did last year. Barcelona have not signed any one that would mean they wouldn't come back in for him next year yet.

Trent and Gomez are playing well. Hopefully went clyne comes back it will mean Gomez will get a chance at centre back then maybe not need VVD at all. Moreno has played well so far this season. Mane is playing better on the left. Firming has upped his game. Sturridge is looking fit. Can is looking amazing at the moment ( let's hope we can sort his contract out) .

Also we got keita for £55mil ready for next season. Less than we bid for this summer, and before other clubs can jump in for him next summer.

So all in all it's not been perfect but it's been a good summer. Better than arsenals, spurs and Chelsea's.

Here here, a positive post. Harrumph.

2.) 01 Sep 2017 03:36:13
Agree with your positive post although the fact that Barcelona have signed anyone and their transfer window is still open, is ominous.

3.) 01 Sep 2017 08:26:57
OP, I agree with your post bar the Origi tip. ed 01 has said that Origi was to be kept IF Studge left and since he did not go, Origi would get less chances. Solanke arriving has nothing to do with Origi's departure (he needs to be playing and is more proven than Solanke with 22 goals in two seasons and Solanke is yet to start a senior game) . Origi is competing with Studge, not Solanke as Solanke is behind Studge and Origi in that order. Apart from this clarification, your post is awesome.

{Ed001's Note - actually Solanke had moved himself ahead of Origi in preseason, which is what convinced Origi he needed to go out on loan.}

Reading twitter about Lemar and kieta, already feel sorry for the ed's over the next few days. Nothing on VVD yet, god help you when/ if that news breaks.
Prays for the ed's.

I wouldn't mind keeping the 9 on the beach and 5 able to come on. However what if the 2 extra subs had to be youngsters to promote youth development, probably never going to happen but just thought I'd throw that idea out there and see what over people think.

What I'm trying to get at is that I think we need a player who is just as comfortable playing LW as well as RW/ striker.

I worded that wrong, but yes he played both RW and LW, were as Salah and Pepe just play RW.

{Ed001's Note - both have also played up front.}

As a gay man my self it is positive to hear other fans accepting of it. Frankly I don't care about football players coming out or not, however I feel the media are desperate for it to happen.
I think that the reaction of opposition fans and the close nature of dressing rooms being Hugh pressured situations and with the different cultures in there (some more accepting than others) are the reasons we have no openly gay footballers.

I don't think they should be stripped of the titles, however of they are found guilty they do need to be punished.
What about point deductions for future seasons or them be relegated. Are they viable options?

ATred

{Ed002's Note - The PL will need to be very careful about what the decide to do and how far they are prepared to go. They will discuss the potential can of worms and don’t forget they could end up with all clubs voting. They have no evidence to look at and what evidence there is relates to UEFA and not the PL. If they were to extrapolate the findings of UEFA (which could go on for a long time before confirmed post appeal and could have a crippling impact on UEFA and hasten a breakaway - even if it ends up being FIFA run, then they are open to major issues going forward.}

Ed001, unless you are Matip who covers plenty of ground with his forward runs ;P.

Think it also depends on who is sold and signed in the summer, wether players like Wilson get a chance.
