Salah won us the title last season with his goals. I’m glad he did the interview. We now know why the team has been underperforming. Edwards needs to get rid of Hughes who is clearly out of his depth at Liverpool and Slot needs to go.

Imo, Slot is an arrogant person and probably has no people skills. The longer this continues the worse it will get. The cat is out if the bag now and something has to happen and if it doesn’t we have big problems ahead.

Alonsos Madrid beat convincingly 2 0 tonight to another very average side and at home.
He's not a Liverpool manager. You should have atleast a recent good 5 year period success in management before getting touted for the top jobs. I don't just mean trophies, the football that's played, the type of club as to where you consistently finish etc.

Ex players having 1 good season somewhere and suddenly they're hot property.
Enrique is the dream I'm sure for the club in the summer or naggelsman.

I personally think Carra is probably right with what’s going on. I feel Salah is going in January regardless. He has burnt his bridges and letting the fans know effectively he’s being forced out, at the same time I think Slot is going, it won’t look good if a director chooses player power over manager power. Salah will be sold, slot will then be replaced based on all the journos claiming “results will decide how long slot stays” we all know results are not improving and won’t, Salah has brought attention onto himself, he’s taken the heat off Slot and let the execs look strong by how they back the manager etc.

I do think both are going though, all this ITK BS will soon prove who actually is ITK, crazy to think there was Macca / Carra ED1 and ED2, poor ED2 passes and 2500 ITK accounts appear 99% of which ED2 would of called out the BS on.

Well if you want to know how the club feels I would suggest reading the article earlier today from Paul Joyce. It's as clinical a hit piece as any finish Mo has done before.

. "what he hopes to achieve from a remarkable act of betrayal. "

. "consider that in light of Salah's latest brattish behaviour and, really, who is the problem here? "

Mo may well have been speaking the truth, in part, but this has turned into a spectacular own goal for him. I would say it's almost certain he won't come back from the AFCON and we may well have seen him play his last game in a Liverpool shirt - especially if the club make an example out of him. That is a desperately sad way for one of club legends to bow out.

What is doubly disappointing is that this appears to have given Slot more support when actually he should be under more pressure than ever before given his continued shortcomings.

Xabi Alonso just lost at home to Celta Vigo.

Fans are furious and booing the team off at full time.

Hello all, been reading site since way back in the macca/ Ken Aguero days but first time poster mainly due to time difference. Salahs done a number on us here as I actually thought I could see slight inprovements in the team the last few games and was hopeful we could limp thru till xmas then get sone additions for the defense.

Now Im not so sure what could happen but we need a result at Inter. Just remember guys we are still only 3 points off too 4.

Top 4 wasn’t the target tho, it’s a sad indictment of how bad we’ve been that top 4 is our goal in December.

The best way to deal with this messey situation is to sack Slot and move Salah on in January.

I think Salah's comments have made it a sure thing Slot is in till Salah leaves. Doesn't look good to have a player moan about playing time and then sack the manager, as much as it's needed.

I think I’ve read nearly every post on these forums since about 9.00 this morning and just about exhausted my Mrs’s patience with me!

I thought we were in a right mess last night but right now tonight I actually think we’re close to
Pressing the self destruct button on a scale not even the mad days of Chelsea can compete with .

Given The rights or wrongs of Mo’s outbursts aside ( yes he was wrong to air in public) people are forgetting that there isn’t and hasn’t been any clear leadership within this club for a long time and I don’t necessarily mean on the playing side - the main execs and directors thinking it was ok for Arne to go off clubbing it around Europe when the title was won to letting players go right of the boil when 90+ points should of been our objective and keep winning momentum and mentality is a dereliction of their jobs / roles!

I get the pre season impetus was affected by Dioga’s tragic passing but I would of liked the players to have used that as a massive spur to go on and create another trophy season and a tribute to his legacy - He was the sort of pro who wouldn’t of put up with these rubbishy antics that’s for bloody sure!

And now after the utter fiascos of embarrassing defeats to Forrest and PSV, played off the park by Sunderland ( who City toyed with yesterday ) and the capitulation last night by seasoned pros against a knackerd Leeds team because Slott &
His staff haven’t instilled anything like the mental and physical toughness needed to compete at this level all we hear from the big Chiefs is that they are still giving Slott their backing!

What then within the next 3 games - Inter, Brighton and Spurs will make the board think perhaps they won’t give Arne their full backing because I’ve a fear this is going to drag on a bit longer than we think and if a couple of other “big” names become collateral damage then I reckon the board and Arne are ready to risk it to
Implement Slotts preferred playing style

Just my take lads - goodnight!

Just watched the Fulham v Palace game and thought, what a man Marc Guehi must be.
Salah and some of the others should take a good look at this man, his performances and attitude.
I for one would love to have him at our club!

 11

07 Dec 2025 19:51:22
I watched the game too Molby and I thought he had a poor game to be honest. Was diving in when he didn’t need to and caught out of position a fair few times.

The thing is with Palace they have so many men back he gets bailed out.

07 Dec 2025 19:52:05
He's a great player and a fantastic person aswell. Shame we didn't get him in the summer but must do in January.

 2

07 Dec 2025 20:25:25
I was talking more about his professionalism and character to be honest but would take him over our centre backs straight away. They are regressing by the game.

 4

07 Dec 2025 22:11:20
Big difference between Salah n Guehi, one is a international superstar who has won, champs leagues, premierships and countless other trophies, he also played at a much higher level, plus to question his professionism n attitude is way off the mark . he gave a dodgy interview so now he's classed as undeserving of us.

Ed1 what’s the reason g for Salah being muscled out? He just signed a new contract and has been our best player for a number of years seems odd.

 2

https://liverpool-rumours.co.uk/uploads/thumb_Ed001.png avatar{Ed001's Note - Slot doesn't want him, he doesn't fit the new set up or with the new signings and his sale would raise funds.}

Thanks ed1 still seems weird if Slot is moving on that we sell our POTY and golden boot winner who still has plenty to offer!

Slots going nowhere for now.

07 Dec 2025 20:19:02
Would Van Dijk also be in danger given his performances, age and wages being paid to him?

 1

07 Dec 2025 20:26:31
Slot was brought in to oversee a transition / overhaul the squad. It’s a massive job that will need to see legends like Salah, VVD, Ali, Robbo all move on eventually. There’s going to be bumps in the road.

 1

07 Dec 2025 20:30:01
We will see.

07 Dec 2025 19:35:36
You think Van Dijk is next on the line Ed? He is our second highest earner after all and his performance hasn't been that good either.

 1

https://liverpool-rumours.co.uk/uploads/thumb_Ed001.png avatar{Ed001's Note - it would make sense, but the issues within the squad are partly about Slot favouring Dutch players, so he will probably stay a bit longer.}

 2

07 Dec 2025 20:02:27
Not a dig Ed,
Just because you mentioned it.
Do you know what the new set up is? Or what slot wants it to be?
Right now I see no sort of system and a team of individuals.
Interested to hear your opinion and inside info.

 1

https://liverpool-rumours.co.uk/uploads/thumb_Ed001.png avatar{Ed001's Note - Slot envisaged a season where we mostly faced low blocks, so he wanted the team set up to smother them and keep them hemmed in with players all over them. A creative player, which turned out to be Wirtz, was to provide the guile to break through, while Isak was to be the fox in the box, so to speak. The idea was to hold onto possession, as the opposition can't score when they don't have the ball. Except they can, as they can force errors or press and win the ball in dangerous areas when your team is focused so heavily on holding onto the ball.}

Carra is right. Slot is dead man walking. I don’t know what sources you have to make that statement, Florian, or whether it’s your go at wish fulfilment, but what Carra is saying about a meeting and a change at the top is backed up by my contacts whom I worked with, including two former Liverpool captains.

Carra is the only person on here, aside from Ed 001, worth listening to.

Eds and fellow Reds. I’m struggling to understand most of this season and for a while but last night’s outburst from Salah has compounded it. Salah was bang out of order whatever the circumstances. Always deal with it in house. The Liverpool way and it should be the way whatever you do and wherever you work. Everyone is hearing things and many different things and everyone has an opinion. Ed001, you posted that the club want him out. I hope I got that right. I don’t know how it works business-wise but if this is the case it’s looking like it’s being badly done. Again, the club comes first. Not any particular employee although orders always come from above.

I can’t get my head the drop off since winning the title. A fair few players had to be replaced and for different reasons but we bought some brilliant players. It takes time to settle in and I thought at the time it may be too many but managed right it should be ok. Last season we didn’t need a DM because Grav was so good. Now there’s talk that we can’t compete because we don’t have one. Last season Slot was rightly lauded for in game tactical and player changes. Now he gets it all wrong. The change in coaches will doubtless change things. Whatever is going on it’s a mess and no doubt a tangled web.
Let’s hope whatever is going on is sorted and soon. I never saw this coming.

Had a little more time to sit and think about what happened yesterday, from performance, result and Salah's comments, and honestly, time has made me even more furious with Salah. He knows exactly what it is he is doing, and what the end goal is, and it is not with the view of what is best for the club, it is about what is best for him. I never expected this of Salah, I never even suspected he was like this, but I guess I was wrong.

Salah has only ever spoken to the media when he wants something from the club. Before, it was to get the big bumper contract. Now, he wants to play games, and is willing to oust Slot to do so. Van Dijk, for as poor as he has been, has at least faced the media, time and time again as a senior professional. He's faced the music and the hard questions, voicing his support for the team at every occasion, protecting his teammates in the process. Salah, has never once done this in his career, not even when Trent was facing negativity from Liverpool fans. But, when it comes to him, Salah suddenly finds his voice and speaks out.

Let's be real, Salah has done nothing this season to warrant his game time. Opposition players are literally talking about the space he leaves behind, and exploiting it. If Salah can't provide the goals and assists, then an alternative solution has to be found. Plus, Salah had many opportunities this season, and has been woeful. His first touch, passing and influence has been appalling. If he was just poor in front of goal, that would be one thing, but even his technical attributes have regressed. The physical deterioration was to be expected, at his age and having played Klopp's high press style in his prime, but he can't even beat a man 1 vs 1, whether that be against a title challenging full back, or a relegation expected full back.

This is not the way I thought Salah would depart the club. I thought, at the end of this season, Salah would get a celebration, plaque, etc, and leave Liverpool a legend with a spotless record. Instead, the majority of Liverpool recognise what he is doing, and their opinion of him will sour, not significantly because his effort, performances and success warrant his legendary status, but it is still a bitter pill to swallow for us.

Amazing to think that in 8 years, all of Salah's interviews have been concerning himself. Not the club, not even standing up for a teammate (as would be expected of a senior player) but to further his own agenda. I think he had 5 interviews in that 8 year span, 3 of which were last season concerning his contract. That is both disheartening and disappointing.

Bang on mate. It’s such a sad ending to a player that is up there with Liverpool’s best. Even sadder that I believe he genuinely loves the club but unfortunately his statement yesterday will tarnish his reputation forever, such a shame 😔.

Salah never defended his teammates before? You’ve got to be kidding, right? Let me tell you something. There was a big Liverpool fan page on Twitter that posted pictures of both Diaz and Nunez with their jersey numbers alongside pictures of Wirtz and Isak, with the caption: “Name a bigger upgrade in footballing history. ”
What did Salah do? He reposted it and said, “How about we celebrate the great signings without disrespecting the PL champions? ” But sure, tell me again how he never speaks up for anyone. I’ll pretend that didn’t happen.

Talking about a new contract? What’s wrong with that? When Trent stayed quiet and didn't say anything about his contract situation, most people were bashing him, saying he should’ve said something instead of staying silent. That he owns fans some clarity. But when Salah says something about his own contract situation, suddenly it’s wrong? Pick a side and stick with it.

Let’s be honest, some people have been waiting ages for the chance to bash him, and now they’re sprinting out of the shadows like it’s Black Friday at Costco.

That is one hell of a rant against our most influential player of the last 5-6 years who is getting shafted by the manager.
Out of form? maybe still not may in the team have scored more than him.

Deserve to be benched probably, but you don't get back to form by sitting on the bench game after game.
I can fully understand why he is fuming.

 4

07 Dec 2025 19:56:01
Slot had the balls to do the right thing even though he knew Mo would do something like this as he has previous. Everyone was shouting for him to be benched but now Slot does it everyone backtracks. Sooner or later VVD will also go. That’s what happens in football and always has. Everyone was calling for a new left back to replace Robbo.

It was done and the kid needs time to fit into the team. Salah has had 20 games to show he deserves a place in the first 11. He couldn’t do it so he’s on the bench. Right decision. He’s also off to AFCON on 15 December so we need to play without him anyway.

 3

07 Dec 2025 19:59:57
Self preservation is what this is. You are spot on this is about what's best for himself. I am not backing Slot but Salah is wrong for doing this. He has been at the club for so long, hopefully understands what LFC is all about and still does this. The thing that annoys me most is when he said “i have so much for the club over the years”.

There are far greater people that have served this club that have done a lot for the club, its fans and community too. For all that he has done for the club the fans have adored him as our own, so why go and say things like this.

 1

07 Dec 2025 20:20:08
Amazing how a drop in form totally disunites everyone. Personally speaking I’d be getting rid of Slot and Salah.

 1

07 Dec 2025 20:28:35
I'm with you Mango. The more I think about it the more pi**ed off I'm getting at Mo.

This has CR7 vs Ten Hag vibes, Lukaku vs Chelsea vibes, Vini vs Alonso vibes.

superstar vs coach / manager / club vibes

The club has to come out on top of this, so I see no way back for Mo

FFS - "I'm not bigger than than anyone, but I have earned my position" so, what does that mean? you can just chill on $400k/ week and just expect to start every game? nah, not for me.

Imagine if this was Trent.

I'm the guy who didn't want to extend Mo. so this is easy for me. Congrats Mo, you're arrogance and entitlement has more than likely forced yourself out of the club.
