This Salah interview after reading about how many hundreds of times he’s turned down post match interviews for me shows just how upset he is about the situation. The guy is human at then end of the day cares about the club and by all accounts is humble and passionate. The mood behind scenes I guess only the players and staff really know but seems poisonous. For me the sooner Slot is gone the better and give another manager the time to try and repair damage done and build for next season.

While no player is bigger than the club and our history shows that from keegan to Torres there isn’t many players today of Salahs quality. His form dip I’m sure is temporary and he needs our support. For me the whole squad needs a balance of back to basics but also the obvious affection Klopp had for them. The Jota tragedy has shook them and they are still overcoming grief but I just don’t get the family feel that Klopp had with the players with Slot. There is no passion.

Does anyone think that it’s possible Salah has fallen on his sword - for the benefit of the fans and club?

By going public it shows the world there’s turmoil inside our club, it shows Slot has lost the players, as probably the most senior pro with a name that has awesome stats has outed this.

I like to think this is the case, Mo has possibly sped up the process to resolution.

Truth be told if slot pulls Mo to the side and says look Mo here’s my thinking then Mo doesn’t need to make the statement . Something must be amiss behind the scenes tho if the talk of player meetings are true too.

If slot does infact leave for whatever reason what's the chances of stevie G as assistant to Zinedine Zidane with Gary Mac as part of the coaching staff?

07 Dec 2025 11:39:35
I think it might be best for all parties if both Slot and Salah depart.

07 Dec 2025 11:48:00
mo made the statement because he is one of us, all the players and most fans want slot gone now! only the blind superfans will tell you otherwise. Like we played well yesterday ignoring the fact Leeds gifted us 2 goals and we still f***** it up.

07 Dec 2025 11:49:05
There’s no need to make the statement full stop, like there was no need to spend the first half of last season talking like he was “out the door” to then sign a contract and do one of those ridiculous social media posts at the most important part of the season, I know that those things aren't necessarily down to the player but the fact his form has dropped off a cliff since then tells its own story.

So sick of footballers and their whining.

I said a few weeks back i think Slot would be gone by xmas. Not because i'm in the know, but because its the logical thing to happen. It's also clear that Salah will be off as well in January based upon what he said in his interview. He's basically said he's off without actually saying it. Maybe he's chosen to be outspoken now because he's privy to that fact.

I wonder who the new interim would be? My moneys on Stevie G. Not saying that's what i want, but what other options are there? Dodgy Sam anyone? I just hope our next new full time manager is a proven winner at the highest level, and gets us playing how we should be. There's some real enviable talent in that squad but it's not being used in the right way. Hopefully the new man can fix it.
Out of the names mentioned, I don't know who i would prefer. What is people's preference and why?

There lies the problem, TIB. I've no idea who I would want to replace Slot, if/ when he goes. I keep flip flopping over whether he should stay or go, basically because there is no realistic, outstanding, available candidate.

As I've previously said, there is no Klopp/ Ancelotti as there was 10 years ago. And before that, when we appointed Rodgers, we were fishing in different waters. We are champions of England, we should be looking at appointing the very best.

Like I say, I flip/ flop. This morning I'm leaning towards him going. Where I do have a clear opinion is Salah was bang out of order. Me, me me. The Egyptian Sulk.

Hi All,

The situation for me is very simple.

The style of football and tactics has changed radically and is failing. It is slow, boring and easy for the opposition to deal with.

The ability to change games positively, with or without the lead in the game, is failing. Slots seems out of ideas on how to positively change the game and best utilise his squad.

Player relationships are failing.

Player performances as a result of the above are falling.

All of this sits with the Manager/ Coach.

All competitions: 11 wins in 25 games (44% win percentage) has significantly reduced compared to previous years and is no where near the required performance level for success.

The football is dull, boring, easy for the opposition and leaves the team constantly exposed.

It is time for Slot to go and for the Management Group to move the club forward as this is not working.

 2

07 Dec 2025 10:13:36
Hi All,

Just to add to the above, the win percentage for 24/ 25 season all competitions was 68%.

So, there is a clear and significant reduction in performance and results following Slot changing personal and playing style/ tactics.

I reckon this all ties in with Heitinga's departure. Maybe Slot relied on him heavily and is struggling without his influence?

Captain hindsight here but I didn’t actually enjoy a lot of the football we played last season under Slot but we were flying high and won the league and football is a results business so it would have been crazy to moan about it.

Watching games at the ground under Klopp was a totally different experience to watching them under Slot. It’s hard to get excited when it feels like we have the handbrake on and are playing safety first and anxious energy throughout the stadium everytime a ball comes into our box.

Slot brought us the title last season and that will never be forgotten but he currently looks like a man that doesn’t have any answers to the questions being asked on and off the pitch.

How many times already this season have Liverpool let a two goal lead slip?
I agree something is very clearly wrong but they are all to blame, Slot and the players.
If you, as a team are incapable of protecting a lead, repeatedly then you’re not doing your job properly.

As a United fan, I’ve seen this exact scenario play out multiple times since Fergie left.

My younger brother is a LFC supporter, so you can understand the banter.
Of late, like many Liverpool supporters, he has lost faith in Slot, and I keep teasing him, “But he won you the league! ” 😉

We watch games together and let me tell you guys, you are a shadow of the team you were under Klopp.

Last season you won the league, and that would not have been possible without Salah. His drop-off coincided with your drop-off since the turn of the year. That is not a coincidence.

Salah has spoken out today, maybe because he feels like he is getting the brunt of it.
Why is he being dropped while Gakpo, Konate and Mac Allister, who have been even worse, keep playing every match?
And I am sure he is not the only one feeling that way in the dressing room. Chiesa, for example.

Things are not always black and white. When CR7 gave his interview, everyone was battering him and calling him out, but in the end a lot of what he said turned out to be true. Salah might be doing the same here.

This is not a Salah problem. This is a club problem, because Slot’s man management has been dreadful.

I honestly believe this might be Salah’s latest assist for your club.

Not looking good for Slot and Liverpool.

Let’s hope the problem does not plummet to Man Utd levels. Has sacking multiple managers made Utd any closer to being title contenders? No, it most certainly hasn’t, if anything, it has made Utd even worse.

The way I see it, Salah’s broadside has made removing Slot less likely than it was, the owners will not want to encourage a player-power led dismissals played out through the media. Did Utd get more respect when dismissing Mourinho after the public utterings of their star player Pogba? No.

This is a crap time for LFC, as Martin Samuels says today in the times, Salah was wrong to say what he did, it is self serving and his belief that he no longer needs to prove himself to be picked in the team makes everything else in that statement laughable, of course he needs to play well to be picked, for F sake, there were plenty of posters here calling for him to be dropped because he was playing to poorly. But LFC were right to give him a contract, if for no other reason than he will bring in a transfer fee when he goes and he did play so well last season.

Watching yesterday’s game, the ending was a shambles but up to the time that clown Konate gave away the penalty, the team were doing well. I can’t believe he also turned his back for the second goal, for a big guy, he is a coward. Fact is, Konate, yet again cost us. Gomez was as poor when he came on, it is hard to reconcile the fact that he was Virg’s partner when Klopp won the league.

No one is blameless, Slot certainly has made mistakes, but the senior players, world renowned all, and Hughes/ Edwards must share responsibility. Failing to get a CB after spending so much on attackers and knowing that the right side would be exposed due to Salah not tracking back has been shown to be negligent. Removing the manager might please Ed001 and the bandwagoners, but some of the first team (Virg, Salah, Mac, Gakpo, Jones) should also pay the price for their decline, I would jettison Hughes as well.

Good post that RBK. Slight problem we’ve had is if you drop all the off form players we’d be down into the u23’s each week for most of the team. you’re right this is a club problem.

 0

07 Dec 2025 10:43:16
A manager/ coach always takes the brunt, it has been like this since football began. Sure some players might be shipped out the door eventually and even Hughes etc might get the bullet at some stage but one thing to remember is that this team won the PL last season and came close enough the season before and it’s not as if the whole team is over the hill all at once.

Of course it needs a bit of help in Midfield and Defence but the team should still be doing infinitely better than it is at this moment and that can only be down to Slot, be it coaching, setup etc.

D-Day WTAF 🤷‍♂️.

 1

07 Dec 2025 10:49:46
D-day. so you think we will end up like united because they've sacked a few managers , so with that logic we should stick with Slot . We all know the problem isn't just the manager but he picks the team n the tactics every game, he the one who also plays Konate ( the one you're slagging off) is that down to Hughes or Edwards, no that's down to this manager, we've gone from champions n expected champions again to this horrendous style of football with hardly any wins n we look beatable in every single game .

who's fault is that .

 1

07 Dec 2025 10:55:14
Out of order having a pop at Ed01.

 1

07 Dec 2025 11:19:43
Penalty only happens because of the gaping hole in midfield. They had acres of space to play in. Konate’s challenge was brain dead, but the lack of organisation and defensive awareness in midfield is shocking. As for the second, Jones is the closest player to Stach, he stands off him, gives him room to pick his spot and score.

Our weakness and lack of organisation in midfield is a huge factor in all this. Same old rubbish week in week out.

 1

07 Dec 2025 11:22:32
D-day, what a divvy you are for having a dig for no reason and nothing to go on, what was the point?

RBK, good post.

07 Dec 2025 11:23:33
I bet 98% of posters on here respect ed1 for the insight he gives
I know I certainly do but show some respect.

 1

07 Dec 2025 11:24:44
@Stromsgodset, how on earth did you take that from my post?

My point was, sacking managers ala Utd does not assure improvement.

I can only assume he is picking Konate because there is no better alternative. Gomez again showed yesterday that he is limited, and has unfortunately been shown to be injury prone.

Whose fault? I think it is a collective effort, poor management both on and off the pitch, desperately poor performances by highly regarded senior players, and a failure in recruitment, notably not getting at least one quality CB along with the young Italian prospect.

 0

07 Dec 2025 11:35:34
Getting rid of Slot would please a lot of people 😂.
On Gomez, we should remember that he played alongside a younger van Dijk, TAA and Robbo with Fabinho, Henderson, Wijnaldum and Milner in front of them with Salah, Mane and Firmino all tracking back, as well.
I reckon I could have played centre half that season and we'd still have won the League.

 0

07 Dec 2025 11:52:28
D-day because you used the United having changed their managers a lot for their demise . but then go and say changing the manager might make ED001 n a few of rhe bandwahoners happy. and the end of the day the managers takes the fall. yea there could've been better recruitment, but we got a good young CB who got injured on his first game . we got 2 good FBs n 3 excellent forward players. i thought we could do with a defensive midfielder. but its up the the manager n his team to get the best of the players n he has failed miserably, Salah can't go from a top goalscorer to nothing in the space of a cpl of months, he plays gravenberch in not the same way like last season n hasn't realised its definitely not working .

its nobody but the managers fault, how we play this boring slow unexciting football . As for Konate do you think its not worth putting Gomez in even for a few games but continually play an error prone Konate every single week.

Anyone else completely fed-up of our club being a laughing stock?
While I was waiting for yesterdays game to start, I watched the "Match of The Day" from when we beat Spurs last season to win the league. That seems a lifetime ago now.

 3

07 Dec 2025 11:37:58
We're not a laughing stock.
We're going through a torrid time but we are PL champions and have some very good players.
We just need a few grafters to complement them.

[Chris Williams] Salah’s words are particularly striking, comes after a number of senior players were unhappy when Heitinga left, the relationship between the players and Heitinga is said to have been stronger than that between Slot and the players.

Reddy - "This is such an exceptionally sad, depressing turn in Mohamed Salah’s Liverpool story. Feeling like the club have thrown him under the bus, admitting he no longer has a relationship with Arne Slot, that it “seems like someone does not want me” at Anfield, and is strongly hinting at being forced out in the January window is not the treatment, legacy, nor conclusion his history-making contributions deserve.

It just wasn’t meant to be like this.

His hurt is evident, and he’s clearly succumbed to his emotions by revealing all of this publicly, but Liverpool do not need more harm right now. And this is damaging. It will also understandably impede how many will view him. Crisis feels a soft description.

Salah seems particularly vexed by being framed as Liverpool‘s problem when that is counter to the truth and players in worse form keep their places in a system and approaching that is heavily flawed.

He also seems annoyed that his talks in private with the manager and club haven’t answered why his situation has changed so drastically. “I asked but I didn't see an explanation. I knew I wasn't going to play. ”

Reading between the lines, there‘s a sense he’s being scapegoated and sacrificed to remedy some recruitment errors that have led to an unrecognisable Liverpool on the pitch.

However much Salah is hurting and whatever he is feeling, this doesn’t tally with ‘The Liverpool Way. ’

And goodness, he deserves infinitely more than this mess. "

Hughes trying to save his own bacon now.

Literally no one thought Mo was THE problem until he opened his mouth.

 7

07 Dec 2025 09:55:36
Ah come on. Plenty wanted Salah benched, saying he shouldn’t have been given a new contract etc. He might not have been the only problem but plenty on this forum thought he was definitely part of the problem.

 1

07 Dec 2025 09:56:14
Mo didn’t play last night. He can hardly take the credit for that p. poor performance and result.

 5

07 Dec 2025 10:17:04
Agreed Faith. And where is the players' leadership group in all this? If Slot has "lost the dressing room" - as is being suggested - then this can't happen without factions, which is in itself a failure in leadership.

 0

https://liverpool-rumours.co.uk/uploads/thumb_Ed001.png avatar{Ed001's Note - the players' leadership group spoke to Slot about the tactics, if you remember there was a well reported clear the air meeting? As a result we got a change in tactics for the Villa and Madrid games, then the players were told it was not sustainable and we reverted back to this crap. Klopp used to constantly override the fitness and conditioning coaches, the training was harder despite their concerns and advice and as a result the players were fitter, stronger, faster. Slot listens to them and we are seeing the results of their input.}

 3

07 Dec 2025 10:30:34
Yes I do remember that, Ed01.
Interesting about Slot. still think there's a leadership failure within the player's group, but. very interesting nonetheless, and probably very relevant.
At some point he surely must add one and one together. Right?

Ed001

Agreed. 100%

I have made no secret of my long term dislike for Slot. I have now extended it to Hughes and Edwards.

Little men at a big club, especially Slot. I understand he is well liked in the Netherlands.
The next flight leaves in.

 1

https://liverpool-rumours.co.uk/uploads/thumb_Ed001.png avatar{Ed001's Note - I do think Slot is a difficult man to like as a person. I can see why the players struggle to take to him, he doesn't have that charisma, for example Klopp had.}

 1

07 Dec 2025 10:55:44
Jokes aside, I find this line of analysis really troubling. It almost intimates that Slot had little idea why things went so well last year. I would hate to think that that was true. I mean he couldn't have just woken up recently and decided to self-sabotage.

 0

https://liverpool-rumours.co.uk/uploads/thumb_Ed001.png avatar{Ed001's Note - he seems to think he knows better, really. Everyone says to him that the lack of physicality is getting us bullied in midfield, but he won't accept it and continues to go more technical instead wanting a player to open up defences, which was Wirtz. Clearly we miss a destroyer, but he doesn't agree.}

 1

07 Dec 2025 11:24:24
That's strange, ed, he does strike me as a pretty likeable and affable character, or at least he did last year when we were winning.

What does everyone think about the set up around Arne?

Given our summer transfer business I have serious doubts as to whether Hughes, in particular, has what I takes to keep us successful.

We desperately needed an experienced CB, a proper DM and some reinforcements up top (all across the front line, in addition to a LB and a RB.

Last season we could see that start of teams being able to play through us, and an over-reliance on Konate and Virgil.

We have not brought in direction competition for either - we got a young CB who is unfortunately out, and seemed to put all our eggs in one CB basket.

We bought two pacey FBs, who are both clearly, and were clearly, based on overlapping runs and providing width - Slot wants them playing inverted and neither seem suited .

DM - no replacement or back up bought. Simply put, a significant error that is having dire consequences ion our results

Up front. In essence we’ve bought two centre forwards. After Jota’s sad passing we needed to bring one in, but we brought in two. We haven’t really bought a Diaz replacement or someone to apply pressure to Salah.
Slot clearly doesn’t fancy Chiesa so we are players light up top.

Don’t get me wrong. I think the coaching staff should be getting far more out of the players we have, but I don’t think all the scrutiny should be just Slot’s.

I don’t worry that Edwards (who arguably Klopp made look better than he was, and Hughes have too much power on the football side, and that changing the manager won’t necessarily solve all the problems we currently have.

 2

https://liverpool-rumours.co.uk/uploads/thumb_Ed001.png avatar{Ed001's Note - we needed two centre forwards - we lost all three players who played the role for us last season, Nunez, Jota and Diaz.}

 4

07 Dec 2025 09:32:40
All of those 3 CF's knew how to press, whilst Eki and Isak are not particularly strong in that area.

Leoni woulod be furst choice by now had he not gotten injured.

Hughes backed the wrong man, who anyway, was second choice to Alonso, and now he's floundering.

Talk of the players not having a great relationship with Slot, i imagine because his interpersonal skills, man management and aura lack big time,

This side needs 3/ 4 prem ready players, battlers, and a manager who knows the lague and who has more than one trick up his sleeve.

This could get a whole lot worse before it gets better.

 1

07 Dec 2025 09:38:22
That was a transfer window from heaven this form has nothing to do with it.
The form started like this from February last season we was lucky last season because the league was weak because if there was any challenge at the end of the season we would not have stood up to it.

Slot need replacing this week or we will struggle to finish in the top half of the season.

 3

07 Dec 2025 09:38:33
I get what you're saying on the two strikers Ed but in my opinion it's too much money on players where it seems to be either-or. Ekitike and Isak are both 9s who want to, and you would expect to given their transfer fees, start most games. In my opinion, we should have gone for Ekitike and a more versatile option or someone who is more of a young talent this summer. Perhaps we could have tried for Alvarez again next year? Breaking the British transfer record for a player who isn't even the best 9 at the club right now is a mess.

I think Hughes has erred with Frimpong and Mamardashvili as well. Completely the wrong profile of players for our style.

 2

https://liverpool-rumours.co.uk/uploads/thumb_Ed001.png avatar{Ed001's Note - Ekitike is versatile, he can play on the left or deeper, there is no reason Slot couldn't make it work other than ineptitude. I agree on Frimpong and Mamadarshvili too. Frimpong isn't even a right-back and we were all concerned about that one at the time, though everyone likes his personality. As for the Georgian keeper, I am not convinced he is even a particularly good keeper, let alone the right profile. It was a stupid signing, as I said at the time and nothing I have seen since has changed my opinion.}

 4

07 Dec 2025 09:44:15
I agree Ed but did we need to spend that much on two strikers when other areas of the pitch needed addressing?

As an aside- do you know why Edwards left the club when Klopp was manager?

 0

https://liverpool-rumours.co.uk/uploads/thumb_Ed001.png avatar{Ed001's Note - we had plenty more money to spend, the issue was that we failed to get other targets, such as the two Bournemouth centre-backs, that we tried for. So buying those two strikers did not make a difference to the failings elsewhere.

Edwards left because he lost a power battle with Klopp. Klopp got full control of transfers and Edwards was unhappy about it. I actually agree with him that the head coach shouldn't have been given all the powers he had - we saw that the summer that we ended up with a complete breakdown in midfield signings. There had been a number of midfielders lined up ready to sign, but Klopp vetoed them all. Then panicked at the end of the window and signed an always injured midfielder from Roma, whose name I have completely forgotten right now. His name has just gone from my mind, probably to shield me from the trauma!}

07 Dec 2025 09:47:41
The Kerkez one is the biggest illustration of the problem we seem to have. He is a marauding left back who rarely crosses a ball in our team, or goes beyond the opposing fullback. That may mean that Hughes and Arne didn’t discuss the way he was going to be used before they bought him, it would have been crazy to buy him as a sitting or inverted player. The only excuse I can think of is he will play that role next season after we buy a replacement for Diaz.

Frimpong less so because he’s not really a fullback. Which raises other questions. I think he was a Mo rotation option, he’s just not been fit.

The word is that Slot wanted to keep Diaz, Hughes didn’t see the value in renewing at the salary level being requested. It was leaked out that Diaz wouldn’t stay under any circumstances, but there’s another school of thought he was quite happy to stay if the contract was right. Who knows.

You could go through it one by one with the benefit of hindsight, but the Leoni, Kerkez and Frimpong buys were questioned before we bought them. Leoni in the sense no one really knew him, he certainly wasn’t a starter.

In terms of the sales Nunez was supported by most, as was the buy of Isak.

The Wirtz one really puzzles me. I’m not sure how we thought we’d get him into our structure without a more defensive centre mid in the team, and without compromising the role of Szob who’s often been our best player. Whilst he was a Hollywood exciting buy it didn’t make a lot of sense, especially for that sort of money when we knew other parts of the team needed a refresh.

 1

07 Dec 2025 09:57:09
We bought two number 9s who would want to be the main man (I think)

I agree Ed that Slot could make it work but surely that isn’t my point
The point is the person responsible for putting the side out should be going to Edwards and Hughes and saying “get me this, this, and this”

Hugo could play 10 but Wirtz could play there. As could Dom

It just looks to me as if Hughes has had money burning a while in his pocket and gone out and splurged it

And my posts on this in no way detract from what I think about Slot

I got pelters on here last season and over the summer for continually stating the coaching set up was making us worse, not better.

https://liverpool-rumours.co.uk/uploads/thumb_Ed001.png avatar{Ed001's Note - oh god yes that's him. That was the beginning of the end with Edwards. Though personally, as I have said from the start, I just think he is way above his pay grade and should still be recommending signings, which he was brilliant at, he is no director. He is not strong enough or decisive enough.}

I like Bradley and think he’s got a lot of potential but last night he looked like he didn’t know how to cross the ball or was allowed to in the first half. We all know he can do it so it’s clearly the team instructions.

I’m also a big fan of Gakpo but he needs to be taken out of the team. He is more of a problem than a solution at the moment.

Also not sure why Endo is trying to waste time on the corner flag when there is 9 mins of play still to go.

I thought the same with Connor JK. I’m less of a fan of Cody as a starter but his numbers can be decent off the bench, or when he was filling in when Diaz or Nunez weren’t fit. He seems like a decent guy, and a good squad player.

It was Bradley's cross that led to our second goal though. And that was the frustrating thing about last night. Most of the play came down the left where we were extremely ineffective. Gakpo, Jones, and Kerkez were just passing the ball between them before passing it back to Vvd and repeating the process all over again. The few times we went right we looked incisive.

And endo was brought on to waste time. Even Slot said so during his post-match comments. I don't agree with it at all but the players were instructed to sit back and not attack.

In the words of the greatest man. shanks. if a player is getting well paid and he's not doing his job for the fans or public then if I could if put him in jail. imagine Salah coming out with the interview in them days. what if give to have a bill shanks in the dugout 💪.

The woke section would probably get him sacked.

Shanks would have him training with the kids until the January transfer window came around.

If shanks had been in the dugout, I doubt Salah would have made the comments he did in the first place.

Tbh I'm beginning to wonder if Salah being benched for the past three games have anything to do with footballing reasons in the first place or not. I think there was a falling out between the two prior to the West Ham game that caused the outburst.

I dug out the full interview with Salah and whilst there will be a few bites taken for the media, I. e. the relationship with slot. It’s basically a player that’s sick of the media noise around him.

Some other quotes below

How frustrated are you? "With respect, I love everyone. I love (Erling) Haaland, I will talk about him. I am the current top goalscorer in the Premier League. He is not yet. He is going to win it hopefully and that is fine for him. I love him and he knows that.

"I am top goalscorer, best player, winning the league in such a style, but I am the one who has to defend himself in front of the media and fans. "

Does this hurt you more? "Absolutely. After what I have done for the club it really hurts. You can imagine, really. After going from home to the club and you don't know if you are starting. I know the club too well, I have been here many years. Tomorrow (Jamie) Carragher is going to go for me again and again and that's fine. "

Some talk in the interview about his Saudi interest. Then continues with the below.

"I remember a while go, Harry Kane was not scoring for 10 games, everyone in the media was like 'oh, Harry will score for sure'. When it comes to Mo everyone is like 'he needs to be on the bench'. I am sorry Harry! "

It shows a slightly different angle to the comments. One of a player that clearly cares how he is perceived and talked about.

Mo is a legend for this club, no two ways about it, and I do get his frustration. But when you are a figurehead for the club, you have to be aware of the repercussions this will cause both the fans and his team mates. Right now, I don't think it was the best time to speak.

Wow. Just wow.

This is a disaster of epic proportions!

The likely outcome after this.

Mo leaves in Jan.
We buy Semenyo and Guei in Jan
Slot stays till the end of the season
We finish outside of the top 4
No FA Cup run
No CL run

That's my predictions anyway.

Slot does not seem to want to change his style
Players are not happy behind the scenes. for whatever reason
Board are stuck between dammed if we do and dammed if we don't.

JLC, slot won’t be here until the summer, the fans will get to breaking point with it. I stick by my prediction that Inter will be his last game (based on nothing more than a hunch) .

I do think Salah is gone in Jan though and I am ok with that. He hasn’t played well for the majority of the season (none of them have tbf) but he isn’t the future. We need to build for life without Mo and we may as well rip the band aid off and move forward.

Top four is still very achievable but we have to act quick before it’s too late.

Mo is not the future but he is the present. last summer fans wanted both tsimi AND robbo gone look how that turned out. Semenyo isn’t all that, under klopp yes but under slot and this playing style he will be a waste of money.

This "disaster", JLC, is at least 3.5 years in the making - let's not be selective with our memory. Actually, I see it more as a long term "transition" period within which we "accidently" (and wonderfully) won the league. And by the way, we're not entitled.

One good thing with this type of situation if you grasp it can be a clear the decks opportunity, a fresh start.

That’s better than a slow festering decline like at Man Utd which is really difficult to turnaround.
Tbh we were like Man Utd pre Jurgen so this isn’t new ground for us and we should be able to move up from here.

If you look at Klopps first team we had a few players who’d get in this team, Skrtel, Lucas or Milner and Coutinho but that’s it.

Maybe losing Mo will be this generations Coutinho moment, and we a use that to kick start something better. Shame we won’t be getting £100m though.

First half we were extremely poor and seemed to overplay everything on the right hand side and then Gakpo had zero product on the left.

Defensively we are all over the shop. Everytime a ball comes into the box we look petrified. Konate no words for that penalty, jones was like a revolving door for the second and the third we just let the ball come into the box with no aggression to even attack it.

Our first goal came from a Leeds error and apart from Jones shot we looked toothless in attack up until then.

How anyone is taking any positives out of that game or our recent form is anyone’s guess.
