I'm kind of surprised how shocked some people are that Trent is leaving. If that performance against Utd didn't set alarm bells ringing then I don't know what would. I don't think we will miss him that much. Don't get me wrong he can do things with the ball and unlock defences better than almost anyone. But in the last few seasons he's become a real defensive liability. He's never been great but the last couple of years it feels like he either can't run or doesn't want to. Robertson is a players who has struggled this season but I would never question his effort or application. If he makes an error he's the first to sprint back and make amends. For too long Trent has done the opposite, giving the ball away and then lagging 20 yards behind the rest of the defence in getting back. I actually think we are in need of a fresh face and whilst it hurts to lose an academy graduate and potential club legend for nothing, I don't actually think we will miss him that much.

All teams attack Trents side including the goal kicks, there is a reason for that, his head has been somewhere else this last few months. now I don't want to slate trent as he has given LFC 20 years of his football life . but as they say when it's gone its gone, I support Liverpool, all my life, not any single player, Bradley plus one more and right back is sorted, I won't be checking on trent or anyone else who has left, but let's give Trent some respect . would I play him again at the end of the season, no, Bradley is our No 1 now.

Bradley isn't even fit.
Trent is the #1 RB at the club when fit.
not playing him cos your feelings are butt-hurt is lame.

One thing that the club have been quite secretive over this season is injuries and Jota, Gomez, Gakpo and Elliot etc were all out for considerable longer than what the club were initially saying.
So with that in mind do we think it’s a possibility that this is being leaked now as Trent’s injury is a season ending one and perhaps we have seen the last of him in an LFC shirt.
Even if it’s not and he’s back with a couple of games to go and leave is sewn up. Are club under any pressure to even play him morning forward.
I’d like to think we will see Trent again this season in a LFC shirt but on the other hand I wouldn’t be totally shocked to not see him again.

Thomo121 - You obviously have not seen the stats, or noticed how poor Salah can be when Trent is not playing.
MOST of our creativity comes from him, statistically speaking. Look it up if you are not sure.
Having said that, whilst he looks to suit Real, I don't believe he will have the same kind of impact as Bellingham.

Where did I slag him off? I criticised his unwillingness to run and track back like the rest of the team, its been a problem for a few years now. Not saying we'll definitely be better without him but he is clearly a more flawed player than VVD or Salah therefore more replaceable. As for the creativity its a fair point, my counter would be a lot of the time this season its been Quansah filling in at RB when Trent hasn't been there so of course we've struggled down that side but it's true he is special on and with the ball. I can't get over the Man Utd game, when that happened I felt it was over.
{Ed001's Note - a lot of the time? Quansah has played one full game at right-back and then 7 sub appearances, most of which have been extremely late sub appearances. You are reaching badly, the creativity suffered when Bradley played there too and Gomez. As for unwillingness to run and track back, he is asked to press the opposition full-back to allow Salah to shift inside on to one of the centre-backs. That is why he stays high. Klopp has even done interviews explaining the defensive system and people still trot out the moronic crap they hear from idiot pundits without a clue about tactics.}

It's fair, I've felt at times he's an area to attack though. It's obviously a hard job he's been given with very little support given by Salah on that side. I guess I'm more concerned with losing VVD and Salah than Trent. I think I may just be overreacting from that UTD game, that was hard to forget. Maybe I'm just hoping we won't miss him too much.
