Imagine you're LFC this summer and for whatever reason you're only able to keep one of ; Salah, vvd, Trent.

Who are you picking?

And no bull "I'll sign all three" answer. You can only choose one.

I would say Virgil, Trent, mo in that order. But to be fair there's nothing much between the three, it's just I think Virgil is marginally more important than the other.

Trent is unique and has a skill set that very few in world football can match. Yet he also has some weaknesses to his game, so on the pitch he should theoretically be the smallest loss among the three. Salah is an all time great, and top 5 in the PL era, but he is just a fraction off Van Dijk. VVD is easily the best CB of the PL era, and probably top 3 of all time (though its hard to compare eras) . He has also blossomed into a fantastic captain, and ability wise there's nothing he can't do as a CB. While choosing among these three should be a very hard decision, the fact that its not says a lot about Virgil.
