See the echo have a article the LFC kits ain’t selling that well and arsenal and chelski have over took us!
My reasons been:
. Poxy looking kits (home one not as bad) .
. Extortion prices (Everyone getting knockoffs)
. And the obvious funds are tight due to C.V.

The bottom excuse would be the same for the Gunners and Chelsea.

No big money signing either as the article also says. not really a lot we can do about that in fairness, short of selling the superstars we already have.

Also arsenal and Chelsea had a fair few new signings. Not so many going to get another salah shirt if they have last seasons the one the first title in 30 years was won.

It is inconsequential. In the same article they list that the entire country spent £23.9m on Premier League football shirts. In another piece I read, on average, less than 8% of shirt sales revenue actually goes to the clubs. If these numbers being reported are anywhere close to correct, basically between the 20 premier league clubs they've made a whopping combined total of about £2m on shirt sales. Ed002 has been trying to explain for years that shirt sale profits are minuscule. If you buy it from the official club store they get the retailers cut and that's about it unless they have an alternate agreement in the contract with the kit manufacturer.

The prices charged are a joke, £40 for a pair of shorts, embarrassing, £ 75 if you want a personalized top, was ok when shirts were going to be used for 2 seasons now there's a new strip for everyday of the week nearly, would of thought this C.V. would of shown clubs to start looking after fans, not charging them stupid money for kits, tickets etc and maybe cap what people in the game are taking out of it, especially agents, as we are seeing, the game without fans is terrible.

I was going to buy my kids a top each but the price has tipped into taking the absolute pi&& bracket now.
Times are hard for everyone and then they come out with the most ridiculously priced kits ever, I mean I can afford them but it’s the principle, they should have recognised everyone is feeling the pinch this year and released them at a lower price or done some kind of deal for those of us on furlough for example, much better to sell 100 kits at £40 than 10 at £70.

The only kids that will be wearing the kits this year are the ones that work in the factory that make them.

If fools stopped buying the shirts every year they'd stop changing them. Fools and their money and all that.

Liverpool and Blue don’t mix.

It's not a balanced comparison. Or sales are down 12% to last year but that's because our sales had also doubled last season so that jump was always going to drop. We didn't release our kit until August too and the lack of matchdays and pre season tours meant that the fans who visit as tourists or ones that follow them touring in America or Asia would normally add to the sale of merchandise. Our away jersey is actually selling better than last season's while Chelsea away kit is way down on sales. Chelsea signing so many star names adds to the desire of fans when last season they had no one to get excited about. I wouldn't read too much into how that report has been worded as it misleads to an extent.
