The midfield three against Chelsea for me would be, Hendo, Fab and Jones.

Gini in for Jones for me. Chelsea worried me with some great signings over the summer, but watching them this evening they look very light-weight. Fab, hendo and gini should be able to bully their midfield imo and give us the platform to win the game.

For me it's hendo fab gini. Milly later on. I'd actually consider milner if he feels fit.

Chelsea still had to field their back 4 and GK that were their huge weakness last year. They couldn't break down Brighton with their new attackers that everyone seems to think is the answer for them. A penalty and 2 goals from defenders was all they could manage to test Brighton keeper. Havertz won't find it easy playing around the intensity that Robbo gini and mane will offer on our left. Salah will be full of confidence going into it where he'd relish taking on Alonso unless they opt for Azpilicueta on the left. Without thiago and chilwell available next week their defence is still terrible. Pulisic apparently not at full fitness and mount or loftus cheek shouldn't be feared. If firmino stays close to jorginho and we stop him from having any time to play then we could get all over them. They don't have the pace on the wings to play long balls in behind us without willian or pulisic and by taking out jorginhos influence they would struggle I think to play through us as fabinho, gini and hendo would bring so much aggression that can dominate their midfield and keep Werner and havertz isolated. Last year we scored so easily with a wide variation of styles. Crosses for free headers, direct free kicks, corner kick, long range screamer and a counter attack goal also. Out of the 7 goals we got over 2 games kepa didn't even move for 4. Trent and Firmino scored in each game while gini, Keita and OX who don't score regularly had no problem being deadly. We didn't even need salah or mane on form and it's funny that neither scored in those fixtures. Chelsea have the same backline to face our attack which has salah and mane far sharper now. Stamford bridge no longer gives them home advantage too and 3 or 4 players picking up knocks this weekend hurts their preparations while we have Trent and Henderson enjoying a week to improve their fitness. I hope we tear into Chelsea from the start and show them that 30 point gap is going to take a lot more work than a summer of spending big cash.

My team would be Fabinho, Hendo, and Keita. We need that extra attacker to take the pressure out from the front three or Chelsea will mark both salah and Mane and we are done for good. Fab and Hendo are good enough to hold the line. and Keita to play on the left with Mane and Robbo.

Tyrion, I’d pick Keita at left back. As in left back at Melwood. He’s no business being picked in a big game as he doesn’t have the bottle.

I'm looking forward to seeing more of Jones as the season progresses. I'm not quite sure if he is ready to start yet but time will tell.

Brilliant post, Har_red92. Keita should be nowhere near the starting lineup for such a crucial away game. If we can get our defence a good week of full concentration and preparation then we will be okay cos the Chelsea I watched vs BHA were struggling mightily and BHA were by far the better team.

Do you know what 6 times. I think you are spot on there mate. He doesn't have the bottle.

I want to see him score and come running to the fans grabbing the badge and kissing it. When he scores he kinda looks like he just knocked a coconut over at a fun fare.

The thing with bottle. It's not a set bar. It can change. He needs a huge goal in a big game.

I wouldn't start him but I think klopp will. He has apparently been sensational in training. But maybe this is the kind of game to bring our the fight in him. When u see him doing a gerrardesque tackle on their biggest man ill start to get excited.
