Ed1 my point is Liverpool was desperate to add a CB before Lovren left, I know the financial picture as changed but adding another is something the club is feel needed, why would that change know? we have two Centre backs who stay fit, and Matip who is always injured, then its Fabinho as fourth choice but to keep playing a midfielder at CB is a recipe for disaster, especially when he is the best player in the premier league in that position, City not replacing a CB last season as proven the wrong choice, I know we have youngsters in that position but Klopp obviously doesn't feel they are ready. My opinion could be wrong but that is obviously a position the club feels is needed to fill.

{Ed001's Note - when were they ever desperate to add a CB? It is clear you have no idea what you are talking about.}

Javi Martinez, Jerome Boateng, Vincent Kompany, Jamie Carragher, Javier Mascherano etc.

Just a small list of a few holding midfielders you might have heard of, who became better centre backs than they ever were midfielders.

Even if Klopp wants to convert Fabinho to a centre back full time, then i'm behind it 100%. He's only 26 and he's played right back, centre back and defensive midfield so he clearly is an adaptable player.

Fernandinho was Man City's best centre back last season by a country mile. Their problem last season was that they lost their captain of nearly a decade. Kompany was struggling to make the team at times in his last 18 months, but what he brought to the dressing room was what they didn't replace. His reliability when it came to the crunch. Nothing to do with Fernandinho not being good enough ability wise. If anything, Stones and Otamendi were the problem!

So Ed1 Klopp didn't want Diego Carlos?

{Ed001's Note - what has that to do with being desperate for a centre-back? If he was that desperate then we would have signed him.}
