Eds,
Any chances of getting Ismaila Sarr as replacement for Divock Origi?
The guy looks strong and can drive the ball forward.
thanks.

Sarr wanted to play every week hence, why he moved to Watford.

I don't get why people want rid of Origi, I think he's a good backup and CAN do the job, he just isn't given enough gametime to show it. He's stepped up for us many times and deserves our support. Keep at all costs for me.

Origi has come up with big goals there's no disputing that. But every time he's had the chance to start games or play frequently when others out he has failed to perform far too often. At this stage it's fair that we need to consider the idea of upgrading to a player that may give us added consistency for the future as divock has not shown over last 3 or 4 years an actual step up in overall standard of performance.

Yes I admire his contribution of crucial goals but looking ahead that is not a trait that can be used as reasoning to think he will continue to give us in spite of his many weaknesses. Players like Luis Garcia, Ryan Babel, benayoun would be capable of coming up with many big moments at the right time yet they could also spend too many games as passengers or weakest player in the 11 to feel that they have showed their maximum capabilities over enough time and that it's possible to upgrade and get more influence from a player coming in fresh. Emre can was similar, few seasons of not flopping but also not reaching next gear, many of us were wanting him to sign a new contract in the hope he would suddenly turn into the class that he could show on brief occasions. I struggle to think how many games has origi played so well that he was the best performer or even up there as the best 2 or 3 players for a full game. His big moments e. g., Barca, Everton, Newcastle, spurs were not relative to his standard of play.

We can do better if we look for an alternative player to contribute more than origi gives for the amount of minutes he gets. I'd want the consistent input that mahrez, Jesus can give city, giroud offers Chelsea, Greenwood for United, Lucas moura aiding spurs as examples of players who spent periods of time not considered first choice but relied on to come in as best available back up and then consistently add top returns in seizing their chance. Origi when he starts far too often plays as the worst rated performer to warrant his role.

I think the problem is most players need a run of games to get going, origi too. Considering the low number of starts he has, I think it’s really hard to judge him. First game of season he starts, same freshness as everyone else - goal and assist. Everton two goals.

He’s not on the level of the front three but I don’t think you’re going to get too much better for that role and he has the positive of being settled and somewhat of a hero. We have an amazing front three and 99% of players will show a ‘considerable drop in quality’ when they replace them. I’d say keep him and give him the chance to play more regularly - I firmly believe we need to win games just starting two of the regular front three (for rest) and not just play them three week in week out, then rest all three for cups/ Everton.
