Hope everyone is well. Was watching a interview with John terry and mentioned that Liverpool and Chelsea were drawn together in the CL group stages. I never knew this a couldn’t find any videos or results of the game, can anyone remember what the results were?

Both 0-0 I think but Liverpool won the group.

Season was 05/ 06. We entered the competition in a very unusual way at the time (i. e. Champions of Europe, finishing 5th in the Premier League) . I can't remember exactly how we were drawn with Chelsea, perhaps Ed001/ 2 will remember more clearly but I think it was possibly because we had to play qualifiers?

The matches didn't live up to their billing. 0-0 at Anfield and Stamford Bridge. We went through as group winners by a point.

Two dull 0-0 draws as I recall. The only this I remember is Michael Essien almost breaking Didi Hamann’s leg and only getting a yellow card.

Happened 05/ 06 season both games 0-0 Liverpool winning the group.

05/ 06 btw. We could be drawn with them at group stage because we weren't part of the 4 'regular' CL qualifiers from England and were given special dispensation to enter the comp as CL holders. So we had no protection from being drawn against another English side.

We played Chelsea in the group and in the knock out stages a couple of times. Highlights were Garcia’s ghost goal and when we won on penalties after Danny Agger scored from outside the box.

Yeah I remember those games 0-0 in both. We won the group because Chelsea lost a match I think to Betis if memory serves correctly. We got knocked out in the round of 16. Barcelona won the Champions League after beating Arsenal in the final.
