Thanks Ed. What do you make of the whole Sterling Gomez drama. Should they have just deal with it internally and get on with it? And surely attacking your teammate isn’t commonplace during internationals?

{Ed001's Note - Southgate is a cock and has made it into something it never needed to be. These kind of things happen all the time, people have disputes and they sort them out, but they don't usually make the news and put a target on a player's back. This is Southgate making sure there is an excuse if he fails and if they win he can tell everyone how great he is getting a win despite the drama ahead of the game. If every time someone had attacked Gazza for winding them up was in the papers, there would have been no room for anything else. Southgate loves the attention.}

I don’t care. Sterling is an annoying little mug.

Wow, figured as much. I mean you’d think stuff like this would be properly thought out in all aspects. And it does seem like they’re going to be a target on his back from now on, and at the same time sympathisers who’s got to great lengths to defend him. Unnecessary.

{Ed001's Note - exactly, it could have been kept quiet and easily dealt with, it is a private matter and should have been dealt with privately.}

Nice one mate, hilarious about sterling. I loved sky’s reporting on the matter yesterday. Oh they were loving the drama. You would swear it was keane saipan incident all over again. Now that was (devastatingly) entertaining. Wonder how long they’ll draw this one out? The real story should have been gomez demonstrating why there are different weight classes in boxing. Totally agree though, they should have buried it and if it broke, say it was a non event, end of said story. No way Southgate comes off looking well after this.

{Ed001's Note - it is a nothing story but Sly have nothing else to fill time with.}

Respect to Gomez for not reacting on the pitch. I'm not sure Trent would've been so chill.

Sterling embarrassed himself royally on this one, guys. I mean, really embarrassed himself. First off, why he messed with the wrong dude in Gomez who he tried to show up during the game and then Gomez picked him up the same way I try to pick up my very tall 4 year old and shoved him off like a rag doll. I understand after that why Sterling's feelings and his manhood got hurt.

Now, going to the England camp and starting stuff up? That is bang out of order and like Ed said, Southgate should have just handled it in-house and marched both lads into a room and sorted it out right there and then. Now I understand why Southgate sanctioned Sterling BUT really, he should have just shut that stuff down and moved on even tho, I was for Southgate sending him home for his immature conduct at first.

Didn't catch earlier reviews of the day, was anything mentioned about Ronaldo's dummy spat? Got subbed off, left the pitch and went home. Reminded me of when Portugal only managed a draw against the US and he left the pitch without shaking hands. What a team player.

{Ed001's Note - nothing to mention. He went home early after being hauled off. It really isn't worth talking about. Why feed his ego by making it seem like it is worthy of mentioning because it is him?}

I get it. Southgate's action. England have under performed for years (until Southgate took over) the team with Gerrard, lampard, Terry and ferdinand was a better group of players than the group we have now but this group wins more games. Its because there was always the different cliques. The Liverpool players, utd players, Chelsea etc. For years we watched lampard not passing to Gerrard.

It is that mentality that HAS to change if england are going to go deep in any more tournaments. And sterling has thrown all the hard work they have tried to achieve at St George's out the window by bringing events in the Premier league into the international camp.

The guy is massively over rated. I've heard people say he is one of thd 5 best players in the world! Utter rubbish. Very good player who plays in a very good team but he ain't world class. He's a petulant little p###k. The way he kicked the ball at trent's hand in the second half, blatantly trying to win a penalty. That's not how World class players act in the opposition penalty box.

I agree that it should have been dealt with internally and not all over the media, but with social media, I guess it was always going to get in the news.

We've had ksi v logen Paul. Let's have gomez and robbo vs sterling and walker, tag team in wwf! Walkers another one. If I were Robertson I'd have nutted him I swear. F##k em, they ain't going to win the ucl and they ain't going to win the league. Next season, at anfield, we should definitely turn our backs on them. That'd be so funny.

{Ed001's Note - The England group wins more games now because international football is crap now. Nothing to do with cliques. It is that the level has dropped so badly even a team led by a clueless gimp, who should be still treated like a pariah after selling out his country for a pizza ad (prick!), can reach the semis of the World Cup. If England had actually played like a team, with a head coach with some idea about tactics and coaching, they would have strolled into the final.

As for your diatribe against Sterling and Walker, you just sound bitter. I have seen both Mane and Firmino kick the ball against player's hands and look for a pen. It has become a tactic now in the box due to the stupidity of VAR.}
