How on earth is Trent not getting into the England starting 1. Also I know Gomez isn't playing regularly and didn't have his best game for us recently but does Southgate honestly think Keane is a better defender. Roll on next week and we can get back to the proper football with the premiership.

It’s pointless fretting over England, Southgate is awful and picks out of form players repeatedly. Pickford, Keane, rice, Maguire, rose even Kane isn’t playing well right now. And what is his insistence with Barkley?!

Probably one of the best midfielders England have at the moment (Maddison) doesn’t even have a single cap.

I couldn’t understand Ox either, plays him last time when he hadn’t played a match for over a year, now he’s back fit and playing he’s out of the squad. Bizarre

Unfortunately it’s not likely to change anytime soon.

I posted on the Everton page asking why Keane is getting picked as he's been poor when I've seen him, and they agreed.

I do agree that Trent needs to play ahead of Trippier though. Especially when Kane is playing up front.

Up the pool.

Redan I'm exactly the same mate, I can't stand it, I haven't watched a full England game in years because it bores me too much. I'd rather watch cricket and that's saying something.

England, as a nation, has always been a very parochial place and this feeling still is especially apparent in football.
To turn this around, it has been suggested that the German FA may look to recruit Klopp in 2022 when both his, and Low’s, current contracts expire.
It did strike me as worrying (as a Liverpool fan) when I first read this but Klopp has been very disparaging about Bayern Munich in the past and the German national team draws many of its players from there.
I’m not sure that Klopp as Germany manager would work.
We should send him and his family off on an extended gap year and then put him in a Bob Paisley boardroom advisory role perhaps?

When you think about it, Trent is the only English player who'd get in the world 11 (im not having Ramos at RB 😂)
He's probably England's best player in his own position. Kane, Sterling, Maguire etc. They ain't even close to world 11.

{Ed025's Note - i like trent and think he has a big future in the game L8, but hes not getting in any world 11 as a fullback mate because defensively hes weak, very good going forward but you need your defenders to be able to defend first and unfortunately thats not his strong suit..

Im happy he didn't play! no injuries ain't it? personally they cab not play internationally and im fine.

Defensively not the best but from that position the creativity is through the roof an level of assists any forward ir winger would be proud of, integral too wat we do an how we do it, b interesting too see if stats would be effected moving position.

12 Oct 2019 15:09:27
Not as bad defensively as people make out either! come to think of it which top right fulls are actually as good defensively as they are going 4ward? i can't think of any, its just the way the position has evolved.

11.) 12 Oct 2019
12 Oct 2019 16:56:14
He's the best for our 11 and that's all that matters fob England duty off we would be complaining if he got injured during an england game/ training so be happy the less any of our players are away from our club the better imo.

Ed025, nonsense. Trent’s defending has come on leaps and bounds in the last year. It is becoming a common myth that Trent can’t defend and the quicker it is quashed, the better.
The only two players to have given Trent real trouble are have been Hazard and Sane within the past year - excellent players who destroy most other full-backs. Trent also often nullifies Sane well.
Added to the above, Trent’s quality on the ball is unique in modern football. His technique is simply elite level - he’d easily get in a World XI.

{Ed025's Note - as i say lowel i like the guy, but you need to take those red tinted glasses off mate his defending at times is awful..

13.) 12 Oct 2019
12 Oct 2019 13:43:52
Ed025 your argument doesn’t really work there mate Marcelo and Dani alves for years got into the world XI and neither can defend either.

{Ed025's Note - im glad you said either kloppers, trent is a good kid but he still has a lot to learn on his defensive game mate..

14.) 12 Oct 2019
12 Oct 2019 13:57:08
Ed 25 you said you need your defenders to defend but we won the champions league with Trent and we had the best defensive record last season and top of the league winning all games. So maybe you don't need them to be great defenders? Creating hatfull of chances every game is enough?

{Ed025's Note - that has worked for liverpool willis and as a wide man i think he has been great, but there is no getting away from his defensive frailties mate..

15.) 12 Oct 2019
12 Oct 2019 18:33:05
Name a better rightfull then Ed.

{Ed025's Note - i cant off hand jadon as i dont watch many european games these days mate, all im saying is that his game defensively could improve..

16.) 12 Oct 2019
12 Oct 2019 18:59:49
Benjamin Pavard. Solid defensively, and good going forward. Not as good as Trent going forward but still decent. Saying that though, if I was to choose between the two, I'd still pick Trent. The quality of his passing and crosses are next level stuff.

Epic IMO, TAA is the best modern day RB in the world. Why? He is miles ahead of any other RB out there in terms of his attacking play cos well, modern day FB's are really no longer required to be good defenders anymore. That is the football of today. As they say, "Don't hate the player. Hate the game".

Pavard is a quality RB (a CB by trade) but he won't fit the way most big teams play now cos FB's are required to offer a lot more, offensively, be great on the ball and offer assists as well, things Pavard is not really good at yet or is not asked to do at Bayern or Les Bleus.

Also, Trippier who plays ahead of TAA for example, is weaker defensively and offensively than TAA is cos he is the one we targeted during the CL final and almost anytime we played Spurs YET he plays ahead of TAA. Go figure. For me, TAA will make a world 11 cos of his attacking ability and his improving defensive nous esp. in today's football. And to those saying they don't see him in a world 11 at RB YET cannot say who they would pick in a world 11 ahead of him, you should know that those two statements CANNOT be correct at the same time.

{Ed025's Note - its not like you to big up a liverpool player redwolf, go easy mate or people will think you are biased..

19.) 12 Oct 2019

I still think the best is to come from Trent. I agree with the Ed that he probably is just not quite World Class yet, as occasionally he gets done defensively but he's right up there and I can see him developing in a similar manner to Joshua Kimmich of Bayern and could very easily do a great job in Midfield as well with his passing range and shot accuracy. Anyway if England don't want to utilise him then I'm not overly fussed as all I care about is he comes back fresh for Liverpool.

{Ed025's Note - yeah i think he will end up in midfield jg, someone will finally work out that hendo is pants and he will move straight in there.. :)

20.) 12 Oct 2019
12 Oct 2019 20:22:01
Jadon/ RedWolf. I was suggesting a player to fit in with Ed025's mould of how a full back should be. I even said in my post that I'd pick Trent over him.

My suggestion was for Ed025, who said he couldn't think of anyone, but I think Pavard is the type of full back that he's thinking of. i. e. more of a balance between attacking and defending qualities.

For me, TAA would also make a world XI, but you can't look at everything on with a Liverpool slant and bias on it. I was just looking at the question from a non-biased standpoint then adding in my biased view afterwards (if that makes sense) .

21.) 13 Oct 2019
13 Oct 2019 05:26:13
Trent works so well at Liverpool because we have VVD and Matip in defence, and also three midfielders designed to break down play if Trent and Robbo push forward and lose possession. England has a far shakier midfield and defence.

I’d personally go for Rose, Stones, Macguire and Gomez across the back 4, protected by Hendo and Winks, allowing Sterling, Maddison and Ox to push forward behind Kane with confidence.

Trippier, Barkley make no sense to me.

22.) 13 Oct 2019
13 Oct 2019 12:53:17
Epic, my post was not a criticism of your post cos you mentioned Pavard who actually, did not occur to me so props to you on that. Pavard as I said in my post, Pavard is quality BUT lacks the attributes that modern FB's have now in the modern game and I proposed the reasons for my opinion.

Ed25, I see my last drew you out. You're so hopelessly predictable. It is not bias. It is an opinion. You say you don't think TAA would make the World 11 YET don't know/ can't think of who you would pick in place of him. That argument makes no sense cos you seem to want to have it both ways YET I'm the one who is biased.

So here's an idea. Why don't you go think (I know, it's tough) of who you would pick over TAA at RB in a world 11 and then get back to the rest of us on planet earth so we can debate your choice. That's fair enough, right? Until then, Peace.

{Ed025's Note - my point was that defensively he is not all that and unlike you i am not a know all who professes to know about every player in the world, you on the other hand think every liverpool player is world class because not only are you the most biased person (yes person) that i have ever known but you are one of them self righteous gits who really irk me, my assessment is that you are probably a 14 yr old schoolboy who is probably a vegan and a born again christian but thats just a guess on my part..peace..

Classic retort, Ed025. Im in agreement with you regarding TAA. He is a superb passer and crosser of the ball and an athlete but has plenty of room to improve defensively. Fortunately, he's young and full of potential and could become a world class player in a few years but not the best right back in the game right now. Who is? Im not sure either but its unlikely that any non-LFC supporter would be calling Trent the worlds best right back just yet.

{Ed025's Note - he certainly has the potential virgil but he is still very young and that will improve with experience, i would still have him in my england side though because he is the best around from an english perspective mate..

Ed025 me ole mucka👍.

{Ed025's Note - hi barry how are you doing my old mate?, its great to talk to someone who is level headed and a poster who i respect mate, i hope you and your family are doing well as you and a few others are the reason i visit these pages so often mate..

Trent defends better than tripper though ed025 dude. I'm glad Trent is getting a rest. He's got a strong wiry frame that enables him to keep defenders at arms length. I don't watch much football other than Premier league so I can't say who the best rb in the world is. He's got to be the best in the prem so he must be up close to the world squad.

What about lbs? Andy has to be up there too. I thought he would be good for us and I thought it was a shrewd signing but I never thought he'd be this good. With our defensive midfield set up, our fbs aren't required to defend as much. Its a balance that won us the European Cup!

And actually, ci think Trent has put in some good and the odd brilliant defensive displays this season.

{Ed025's Note - i cant argue with any of that robbie, trent and andy are great as part of a defensive unit mate, i especially like trent and think he will become an england regular..

Wow Ed25, really got under your skin there. I thought it was all banter and all that BUT now I see that my posts get you really wound up to the point of calling me all kinds of childish names. You seem to be projecting all your shortcomings on to me. You called me a 14 year old school boy YET you are the one leveling 14 yr old schoolboy insults. You think and act like you know me YET I'm the Know-It-All? Again, projection much?

I also see that you actually did not (not that you ever do) address the substance in my comments. You think TAA is not in a world 11 at RB. I think he is cos I don't see who is better based on what he offers defensively/ offensively cos FB's are no longer required to defend that much YET you are unable to provide someone who is better. So to deflect, you attack me personally with mindless insults. We have a saying for people who do this, "When you can't argue your point, you bang on the table and hurl insults". Keep the insults coming, bro. I can take it. Can't say the same for you, tho. Peace and Love, man.

{Ed025's Note - please dont take my comments as insults redwolf i am trying to educate you and bring you into the real world my friend, you are not everyone,s cup of tea and your condescending manner and know all attitude does not sit well with a lot of posters mate, i say this in a positive manner as i really dont think you intentionally mean to offend people but you cant see the wood for the trees, you can be very good at times and i have agreed with your points on many occasions but my god you can be a pain in the arse at times, if you could only reign yourself back now and again and think of others and become the poster i know you could become you would be a great asset to the site....peace and love man..
