Matip was Motm and once again played awesome. Still some will judge him based on past plays and still say he is a liability rather than give him credit. I see him as one of the best in the league right now based on form from last year. Ywna great win today and hard fought. REDS.

I think motm was robbo. That 94th minute lung busting run to relieve all the pressure and get a free kick. Just tells you all about him. and also ofcourse the assist for bobby.

Akrubbish - Robbo was great in the first half but wasted possession so many times in the 2nd! I wanted to throw something at the TV as a result of the number of his sloppy passes going straight to Chelsea players!

I agree you’ve got to give matip credit. He’s playing really well and to keep joe out the side says everything. It can only be good for our team. Fighting for places.

{Ed001's Note - am I missing something? Matip was terrible yesterday. He has been excellent this season, but not yesterday. He was caught ball watching numerous times, I thought van Dijk was going to burst a blood vessel screaming at him to wake up in the second half. There was one particular header Abraham got in to get and it was simply because Matip was sleepwalking and ended up giving away a simple chance because he was caught wrong side simply through not being aware that Abraham was there. All because he was ball watching. When Matip plays on the front foot and is attacking everything, he has been excellent, but we sat off yesterday and he reverted to the Matip that he was before. It does not suit him. If we are going to play that way we need to use Gomez, he does make similar mistakes but has more pace to rescue situations. If we are going to go at a team, with Matip attacking everything and trying to keep domination of the ball, then he has shown he is excellent.}

Fair play then eds. you see so much more than most of us. So I’ll go with you on this one. I was taking more in general he’s been playing well.
Hopefully joe can get so game time in this week.
