Been watching Wilson play for years. There's a real player in there and if he works hard he is a real asset especially when breaking down stubborn defences with long distance screamers.

Sometimes people need to be told the truth ie klopp saying prove it to me or you'll play for a team lower in the league than Liverpool are currently at such as Villa or Bournemouth.

I suspect that has happened and even though we may have considered selling him this summer that now he will stay for another season to show us what he can do.

I for one am fully behind this If happens and hope he fulfils the promise he has show. since breaking through as a young un.

From what I saw of him last year he will have to drastically improve most facets of his game to become a fixture at Liverpool. I would sell if a decent offer comes in for him.

I agree that there’s a real player in there, would love to see him flourish. I don’t think there’s much quality out there beyond Bruno Fernandes, and there’s certainly no value to be had at this stage.

We’re not blessed with options to cover Salah and Manè and it’s hardly like there are lots of alternatives on market and it’s obvious that the purse is shut tight. Give the lad a chance I say.

From what I saw in the play offs, he’s fine given space, but when the defender gets tight, he’s struggles to get on the ball. Okay, if he’s playing with mane and firmino, I’m sure the defenders would be more worried about them, but it’s almost like he needs an invitation to cause trouble.

Firmane, do you not think that playing with better players, having more of the ball and getting space because you’re playing with those better players might help him make that next jump? I’m willing to give it a punt as I think we should put some faith in our youngsters who have demonstrated that they can do it out on loan. And being the top scorer for a team that got to the play offs in the championship Is a very good showing,

{Ed025's Note - but there are levels in all sports 6times, for example in cricket the jump in class from a county side to a test team is massive and the same in football mate, potential is one thing...but realizing it is another..

The thing with Wilson is he's a talented footballer in his own way. But Liverpool right now just doesn't seem suited to his play. He can't replicate what salah or mane offer with pace in behind or direct running with the ball, he couldn't fit into our 3 man midfield either.

A player more similar to salah or manes strengths would make more sense. If Wilson were to play instead of salah our whole attacking plan would need to change.

The attacking plan might not need to change that much. If he's playing with mane or salah, defenders will probably double up on them, it's up to him to then find the space available, and with the shot he's got, he should pick up some goals. Not seen much of him, but not going to write him off before he's played in competitive games.

Personally I'd like to see Wilson given a chance as an impact sub this season.

I know people say his game was lacking in areas last season on loan but he wasn't being coached by klopp and his team. A season with our first team coaches and klopps tutelage could iron out those weaker areas.

With the ball at his feet he seems useful. It's mostly off the ball he needs work and playing with better players and getting better coaching could help that.

If it doesn't work out there will be plenty of opportunities to sell him.

Wilson is just the new Tom Ince, decent at Championship level, and has loads of fans clamouring for him to be played.

Why do people keep saying he doesn’t suit our style of play. That’s the point. In games where our style isn’t working you need to change things up. Kompany you could argue helped win City the league because he stopped playing tippy tappy city football and strode forward and whacked a 30 yard screamer in to the top corner!

Definition of madness is doing same thing and expecting different results. Unless Klopp is forced to sell at £20m+ or has a signing up his sleeve my money is on him staying this season to give us that something different when needed.

Problem is damned if you do and damned if you non stick with what we have and win a major trophy klopp a genius if we just miss the cut what was he thinking sticking with the young lads they aren't good enough which is not what they need at this stage of their development.

Ed025, the only way that we’ll find that out if he can make that next step is by giving him the chance, so far he’s at least met every challenge presented to him and been fairly prolific in scoring goals, which to my mind is the fundamental point of a forward. I’m happy to give him the chance to establish himself rather than waste money on what are quite frankly uninspiring alternatives,

{Ed025's Note - uninspiring is the exact word for harry 6times, i just dont see what he would bring to the table to be honest mate..

Spot on, Ed25. Wilson is not anywhere close to the ability both players even tho, they are decent/ solid at best, nothing more.

{Ed025's Note - im not saying they are world beaters redwolf, but they are premiership quality mate..
