Ed I want to ask a question about the Spanish press story that we are about to offer Salah new terms on £400K a week. I'm not asking about the validity of it as it is so outlandish it can't be and it would put us in a tight spot with regards to our other high end players. The question is why report it and what is the angle, could they be trying to unsettle him? It litteraly makes no sense since he signed new terms on mega money last year.

Nah Ed025, when another team approaches us for Salah on a lucritve contract, and let's face it he is a top player then we will be in the driving seat when it comes to negotiations. We do not need to sell Salah, just remember that.

If he came to me and asked for £400k per week I'd tell him where to shove it and go find a club who will pay it, plus the £150m transfer fee required. Thank you very much. He's good but that's an outlandish figure and will have an impact on every other good player at the club plus it will mean any quality player we want to sign will have that in mind as their starting salary. I'm also aware that this story is 99.9% likely to be untrue.

If Salah wanted to go he would have been throwing his toys like Coutinho Ed025.

That is the difference. We know Salah wants to play for Real but at this point he has limited options so he will not be forcing a move unless another club to his prefernce puts up or shuts up.

I’d rather sell Salah for 50 million than pay him anyway near 400,000 a week wages. He will be easily replaced.

Not a chance that LFC with this current structure will even consider doubling salahs wage, he has 4 years I think left on his contract, already our top earner on 200k. If he wants that type of money he will need to leave. United have messed up with Sanchez, arsenal have messed up with ozil.

Once you set the paying rate that high you begin to create problems within the squad. When Ramsey sees ozil on that money he can then say that he deserves that too, rashford can ask why he's not deserving of Sanchez wage.

Our current situation is good, our first team players earn between 120 and 150k a week, very balanced and similar pay to each. I think firmino and VVD slightly more and salah the top at 200k. Mane only signed a long deal last year happily with only 90k. I like this structure, if any player wants to upset it he can get lost.

De ligt or mbappe would never happen if they can get silly money elsewhere. Madrid are stuck with bale because they paid him stupid money. Players hunger disappears when they get a contract that they know will never be topped. Sanchez ozil Ramsey bale, late 20s being offered 5 year deals on that money, that's when a player can easily relax and stop caring.

Ed25, Salah leaving us does not depend only on him. He wants to play for RM and that is his business. That has nothing to do with the contractual commitment he has with us and he is intelligent enuff to know that. If he wanted to move at all cost, we all would have known about it. He is not angling for a move this summer so he will play out this season like he always has his last two season, killing it in the PL and CL. Next summer tho, things may be diff.

{Ed025's Note - a lot of it is down to his agent redwolf, yet another greedy blood sucking leech who is taking money out the game that should be used to enhance grass roots football imo mate..
