Mentioned a while ago about teams around us strengthening.

Spurs have signed one player and are bound to lose at least 2 key players. Replacements will come at a hefty price.

City have signed Fernandinho's replacement and resigned another player they sold which will unlikely make their first team. Will they sign anymore players when Pep cannot even keep his current squad happy when it comes to minutes on the pitch?

Arsenal have signed none.

Chelsea cannot sign anyone.

UTD have made two signings. They will overpay big time if they want to sign their other targets which is a risk when it comes to those players flopping which has been the case for them since Fergie stepped down.

Everton signed one, oh and made the player they loaned from Barcelona permanent.

I really do not see the fuss at the moment that we have not been active when the teams around us have not really strengthened are either going to lose players or need to sell in order to add or overpay bigtime for their targets.

LFC are in a healthy position as Klopp has built a really good squad and we have not lost any of our first team starters.

So I guess we will all just have to be patient and wait and see if Klopp will actually add anymore players. We have a very big squad as it is and with Gomez and Ox coming back into the picture it makes us that much stronger. I am not a fan of Lallana but on his day he can pull some strings. Who knows, Brewster could have changed Klopp's mind when it comes to adding a new forward.

We can sit here and say but 'what if' key players get injured? That is what we say every season ain't it?

Man Utd with Bissaka filling their problem position should be much stronger. Moreno showed us how much of a negative impact one weak link can be. Young was torrid for them. The problem is I simply can't see Ole getting the best out of the squad. He's so far out of his depth he makes a beached Whale look at home.

There’s actually lots to feel positive about. Best keeper and centre back in the world play for us. Fabinho, Henderson and Wijnaldum are a good midfield unit, our front three need no introduction and we have the best attacking full backs around. And we’re current CHAMPIONS OF EUROPE. Can Klopp get a bit more out of them? Actually, I’m pretty sure he can.

Who is to say Wan-Bissaka is going to make it in UTD's inept defence. One youngster with a massive transfer fee overlooking him when the defenders they already have not going to make things easy for him.

It is like Wan Bissaka has been dropped into a pool at the very deep end, the ddep end may just be too much for him.

If UTD had a sturdy defence then maybe it would have been easier for him to WB to settle in.

UTD are digging their hole deeper. It is going to take more than a Fergie to get them back on track.

Spot on, Max. Utd have massive problems and gaping holes in their team that just dropping near 150m on Wan-Bissaka, Fernandes and Maguire won't fix overnight and that is aside from the huge elephant in the room called Paul Pogba. Using Utd's transfer business to compare with LFC is a unbalanced a comparison as you will ever find. What Utd are doing now is what LFC was doing 2/ 3 seasons ago so they are already three years late and a couple of bucks short compared to us.

WB is a top RB talent but a TAA, he is not. He is still learning the position and like Max said, will be dropped right into the deep end, something TAA did not have to do until his second season as a bonafide first teamer. Utd is doing the same thing they have been doing in the past and failing at as in, throwing loads of money at situations that cannot be fixed overnight. We shall see what happens with them.

Well said Redwolf, I actually think Wan Bissaka would have been better off staying where he was for a couple of seasons and getting more experience, instead at 21 he's moved to a team where, for the price, he'll be expected to be a saviour of some kind. I actually feel sorry for him as the expectation could hinder his career.

{Ed025's Note - i find it hard to have sympathy for anyone who is getting paid around £100,000 per week johnny..

You forgot to mention that Chelsea have sold arguably one of the best players in the Prem as well. They have seriously weakened themself.
He was pretty much the only player for them who ever caused us problems and they can’t even sign a replacement oof.

Think you'll find Chelsea have already signed an above average player called Christian Pulisic. Glad Hazard has gone though. Terrific player who always caused us problems.

OGRed. Hazard is a massive loss but I think they will be a better team for it. They'll all have to pull their weight whereas before I think a lot of the players took their foot off the gas and just hoped Hazard would win the game for them.

Now that they don't have that luxury, the whole team will have to prove their weight and I think they'll be better for it. Maybe not immediately, but over time, they will be a better side.

Good original post that Max and when said it does put a lot into perspective. All fans like to look at what other teams are doing but I think it’s important that we keep our eyes in our boat. It doesn’t matter who other teams sign or sell As it makes no difference if we are doing the business on the pitch. This season is going to be massive for Origi and Brewster as our front 3 have played a hell of a lot of football in the last 24 months. It’s always exciting if we sign someone but if we don’t then the same applies. In the words of Stevie G we just go again.

I only meant in terms of the potential impact of his career Ed025. Fully agree it's difficult to have too much sympathy when you think about the £s.
