Hope your having a good weekend mate? Just thinking on the full back situation, I've been liking at the depth within the squad including the U23 players and the fact we have Milner Gomez who can play there, do you think we have enough cover without dipping into the market?

Also another think I've just heard, are you aware of any injury to Adam Lallana?

{Ed001's Note - cover we have, what we don't have is players to push the first choice pair to make sure they keep their form up. That is what we need.

I don't know, I haven't been keeping up with injuries as there are always loads of niggles in pre-season as players get back to full fitness.}

Is there any one comfortable in both left and right back positions and a reasonable player? Seems to be pointless getting two players in as Trent and Robbo are clearly first choice, so wouldn’t get much game time.

I didn’t even mention cost, I just meant we have cover so we just need an actual full back to push Trent and Robbo. If they could play either side, they could fill in more effectively that Gomez or Milner or rotate. Could get 20 games that way, rather than two players possibly getting 10 each.

Felix passlack. Could cover both left and right back and can also play on the wings. Only 21 and just a year left on contract i think.

If clyne were to leave for 12 million don't think he would cost much more if even.

Im actually surprised we have never been linked (even through lazy journalism) . I remember reading back when klopp was at dortmund that he rated the kid very highly.

Dont know what happened at norwich last season and i haven't seen a lot of him playing. But if we are talking about a player happy to be cover and a bit of a jack he ticks a lot of boxes. I am of course taking a liberty assuming he would be happy to be cover but i couldn't see him turning down the opportunity.

Milner can cover left back, Fab and Gomez can cover right back but none are ideal if Robbo or Trent are out for long periods. We need decent back-ups, preferably players who are specialised in that position, rather than versatile cover.

I know he’s not popular in these parts, but I’d keep Clyne as cover, he did a very good job when he came in against United last season. He’s not the best, but equally he’s not as sloppy as Moreno.

The thing with having players like milner and gomez as cover for fb positions is - they are also playing in other positions, where they can easily get injured. So it feels like we have 2 lbs in robbo and milner but milner may be injured, he may be needed in midfield due to injuries to other midfielders, so its more like having 1 1/ 2 players for lb in a weird way. I dunno if that makes sense.
