Good morning Ed001

Just wanted your thoughts please on the season ahead with a couple of players rolls. Do you see Gomez as Klopp first choice next to Virgil or has Matip played his way into the team? Also with the stack of games to come do you expect Brewster to get plenty of game time as out front 3 can not play every game?

{Ed001's Note - I believe Gomez and Matip will have to earn the place in the pre-season games.

Brewster would have got games last season but for injury. I am sure he will get a fair few games this time round.}

Yeah, i agree. I see young Brewster getting a fair shot. Dom Solanke was given plenty of chances. Was in front of DS.

I know they have both said repeatedly that the relationship between Klopp and Sturridge is fine but do you believe that ed01? I mean, of course neither of them is going to say the relationship is bad on camera, that would be stupid.

I always got the sense that Klopp had no time for him. Would throw him on for the last 30 seconds, did that many times. Can i also ask why does klopp do that? Bring on Sturridge or Shaqiri for a minute or less. Is it a way of saying "look, this is what you're missing, you need to work harder and follow instruction"

I was thinking about shaqiri -
He is, technically, a brilliant player. Very skillfull. Do you think he resents (or finds it difficult) being told how to play by someone who couldn't really kick a ball? (klopp, good header of the ball though)

{Ed001's Note - Klopp and Sturridge got on fine but Sturridge just got less useful by the appearance.}

People are going way over the top about our players. Take the red tinted specs off, Shaqiri is not technically brilliant. Xavi, Iniesta, Messi, Modric these are technically brilliant.

Shaqiri is decent technically but not very mobile for a forward player and lacks some work rate. Hence why he doesn't make the first 11.

Robbie how do you rate D Silva, B Silva?

Subs come on 1 minute or 30 secs from the end for one reason Robbiesline - to waste time - because invariably the ref whilst correct to and suggesting he will add on time he don't add as much as the time it takes for a player to WALK off and the other WALK on. (Meant to be 30 secs) .

Every team does it like it or not!

European cup and 97 points.

How often does that get bettered?

Sturridge was never going to play under klopp, was never the right match, I'd think we could just not sell him all along without him taking a pay cut

Shaqiri has shown no problems with work rate at all as far as I can see. He's just not currently suited to this system. He played regularly in autumn and December on the right wing in 5 man midfield, only was not used when we switched to 433. He can't play in centre midfield and salah was always going to play from the right up front. If anyone can tell me when his work rate or attitude has been questioned? He actually seems like he cares more than he has in the past. He's not tactically suitable is all.

I think his attitude/ work rate has been questioned on here only this week.

By who though? Someone who is just guessing? Or is there evidence?

{Ed001's Note - Shaqiri got dropped because he stopped tracking back and left Trent exposed. That was why we reverted to the old system.}

97 points is irrelevant if you finish second.
