Hi Eds and Reds,

Who are the most likely players to leave Liverpool this summer?

I think this transfer window will mostly be about improving the squad by replacing the players that leave with better quality who can actually compete to start games.

{Ed002's Note - Simon Mignolet (G) maybe
Loris Karius (G) will likely stay on loan in Turkey
Bogdan (G)

Alberto Moreno (LB)
I cannot answer what the club’s views are on Juanma (LB/CB) but it doesn’t look like he will be able to make the step up given what we have seen in the past 18 months appearance/bench wise.

Nathaniel Clyne (RB)
Connor Randall (RB)
Corey Whelan (RB) Liverpool will let him go

Joel Matip (CB) could make way if a new CB is to be added
Juanma Garcia (CB) has asked to leave to get a chance of first team football
Conor Masterson (CB) Liverpool will let him go

Marco Grujic (CM) perhaps another loan, no assurance he will get a WP in England but the asking price for a sale is very high
James Milner (CM/RM) perhaps but I think next year more likely
Adam Lallana (LM)
Allan (CM) can't get a WP - a further loan to Fluminese
Edvard Tagseth (CM) wants to move to work with SG at Rangers

Sheyi Ojo (RW) time for a decision to be made
Harry Wilson (RW) needs to make a decision and talk to the club to see if there will ever be a chance for him at Liverpool - there is serious interest in him now and I expect him to leave
Ryan Kent (LW)
Tony Adekanye (W)

Divock Origi (F) perhaps but right now I expect him to stay
Daniel Sturridge (S) Australia beckons, possibly a tier 2 (USL Championship) side in the US
Bobby Adekanye (S)
Taiwo Awoniyi (S) won't get a WP
Danny Ings (F)
}

What I love about that list is none of the players mentioned are crucial first team players we don't want to leave, seems a healthy situation that the squad just needs upgrading and strengthening the quality of depth

Thanks for the overview ed.

Another good summary in potential outgoings Ed thank you. Only surprise on there for me is Matip, I thought he would be in Klopp plans and didn’t think we were even looking to add another CB.

{Ed002's Note - If there is no CB added then expect him to stay.}

Thanks for this update Ed002!

Two questions on what you've said above.

1. Seems a bit strange to have Matip on that list considering he is in line to start for us in a UCL final. Is this incase a substantial offer comes in for him? Or are we looking to possibly replace him? I only ask because I see him as above Lovren in the pecking order. I'd be suprised if we changed our centre back set up at all this transfer window.

2. Would no one from the MLS be in for Sturridge? He is definitely good enough for Tier 1 in the US.

Thank you for your time.

{Ed002's Note - 1. He will stay if no CB is added. 2. Not right now - the one side who might be interested is looking to someone else.}

I'd keep Matip, Milner and Origi out of that list. Even if the rest all go, we won't be any weaker as a squad imo. Add another 3 players to this squad (versatile forward, fullback and 2nd GK) and we will be much stronger next season to have another go at City's crown.

I know mignolet will want to be playing every week if the right club comes in for him but I'd be more than happy with him staying if he's willing to be backup, I don't know his wage situation but I presume he won't be paid similar by a smaller club, he seems a good pro to have about. But I suspect now is the time to cash in.

Michel vorm a free agent I think, wonder would he be a decent option if migs moves on.

Ed002 could u elaborate on Sturridge to Australia please. as an aussie i find it very hard to believe any of the clubs could afford anything like what he would accept. i guess melbourne city are owned by manchester city tho. just feel something like LA galaxy would be more his style and acceptable wages.

{Ed002's Note - There is not much to say - I have no idea what money he would be looking for but he has options in Australia.}

Agree with one of the posters, surprised we are more willing to let matip go that Lovren. Whilst neither are amazing, matip has done well enough recently, and is younger.

I'm with Firmane on this, I expect Lovren to leave before Matip. Lovren is a great guy by all accounts but he has never managed to start 30 league games in any season in his career and that won't improve now he is in his thirties.

Gotta say didn’t realise until a few weeks ago lovers was hitting thirty, I’d rather he left than matipt be honest.

{Ed025's Note - most of my lovers are touching 60 jonesy.. :)
