Hi EDs

Sorry to hear about the issues you've been having but I'm oddly happy as it will allow me to personally contribute to a site that has been both informative and entertaining thanks to the posters and yourselves.

I pay for Sky at the moment, I know, sinful, but I am always frustrated by the service it provides. I would go elsewhere but my contract is complicated. It's good to know I will finally be paying for something worthwhile and meaningful for a change. I get paid on the first btw, so that is when I will be making my first donation. I hope this will help even in minor way.

Leaving that aside for now, I wanted to ask you a question about Liverpools youth rather than anything based around transfers in and out. I've heard a lot of talk about Adam Lewis and Rhian Brewster receiving potential opportunities to fight for a place in the first team. I was wondering about the clubs opinion on them was for next season?

I like the look of Adam Lewis, in particular, and it would be nice to see another Liverpool product be in the match day squad, even as a sub. Rhian, I suspect, will find chances limited due to how vital Firmino is to the way we play.

Also, are there any other players that the club are looking a from within to improve the squad in a year or two. Players like Curtis Jones, Hoever, etc. Would love to get your opinion on the players I have listed and maybe others I was no aware of as my knowledge of Liverpools youth system is very limited and I suspect you will have greater knowledge in this department.

Apologies if this message is long winded or incoherent but I have spent the last five hours working on my Project for FA Level Two Coaching and couldn't help but wonder about this topic.

All the best and I would like to thank you and the posters for making this site a fountain of knowledge, imagination and enjoyment.

LFC-S MANGO.

{Ed001's Note - thank you mate, I really appreciate that.

As for the youth, it is most likely that they will be loaned out rather than getting a chance in the first team next season. There is no one seen as on the verge of a breakthrough right now, with the possible exception of Wilson. A lot will depend on who goes/comes in the transfer window and what offers come in for youth players too, as they don't just want to send them to any old club.

Brewster is seen as part of the first team squad now, Wilson will get a shot in pre-season to earn a slot in there too.}

Think it also depends on who is sold and signed in the summer, wether players like Wilson get a chance.

What sort of player is Brewster? Anyone you can compare him to in style - speed merchant, scores from crosses, good in the air etc?

I have seen very little of Brewster but don’t think he’s an arial threat, he’s not big or that strong. Quick enough, good finisher.

Ed can you give us your opinion on Brewster? Strengths/ weaknesses.

What your expectations are of him for next season

Thanks.

{Ed001's Note - there can be no expectations of him, he is recovering from a long term injury. As for strengths and weaknesses, I have not seen enough of him to judge.}

Ive watched Brewster a lot. Prior to his injury. He is an intelligent striker. Makes great runs which on occasion can pull 2+ defenders out of position. Has a cool finish in his locker aswell as tricks and skills. All of this has been at youth level but he is obviously aware that creating space for others is as important as finding space for himself. I can't see him operating from a wide position, but hope I'm proved wrong on that. I assume he has, when fit, been training in the current first team philosophy. I believe we can keep the cheque book closed with him and Origi ready to deputise. Some full back cover and midfield replacements for any outgoing and I think we will be OK.

I still want us to sign a senior full back that can cover for both Robbo and TAA when needed. Not sure throwing Adam Lewis or Ki Jana in to the deep end when there is a possibility that we will need to win 99% of our games next season to win the league is a good idea. Get in someone like Ricardo or Kenny Lala and send Lewis out on loan.
Brewster seems to be a different kettle of fish the way Klopp has treated him. Clearly Klopp sees him as a generational talent and he will likely be an understudy to Bobby. WE still need a versatile forward on top of that though. DEpay seems the latest to be doing the rounds after the Brandt snub. Wouldn't be a bad option to have imo.

From what I’ve seen, his game is based around being a good finisher and good movement. Plays mostly off the shoulder rather than being a classic physical CF, and he pops up in dangerous positions in the box due to reading the game well.

I’d say his style is more like an Aguero type player - without the quality yet of course.

Also I'm sure there are new loan rules coming into play possibly this season oraybe next where basically they limit the amount of players a team can have out on loan so the likes of Chelsea and juventus can't have around 50 and 80 players out on loan each there's others too no doubt but these are the two I know. Perhaps Liverpool may also have to sell loaned out players to keep the ones they really need to.
