Just read on the old Twitter about a fan who went to the game on Sunday mentioning the hate Henderson recieved every time he got the ball.

So infuriating, the hate he gets just for being the captain.

He was 100% the best choice at the time and doesn't deserve the abuse fuelled by social media and by ceratin so called "fans". He has been a fantastic character and player for us. If we win the league, I for one can't wait to see him lift that trophy above his head. It will feel even sweeter.

Can never understand fans hating on the players that play for their team. Especially exceptional professionals like Henderson.

Absolute disgraceful behaviour if true. All fans have favourite and not so favoured players but you should support them all the same when they are wearing that shirt. For me I think Fabinho should have started but that didn't make me want the players who started ahead of him to do badly. The players and fans should be pulling in the same direction.

c_matthews94, I'm a Koppite and to say Hendo gets "hate" everytime he touches the ball is utter tosh. I'm not his biggest fan and have posted as much on here several times, but he gets the vocal support from me and the vast majority of supporters, home and away, every time he plays.

Rome 1977, as I said I read it on Twitter. I am not saying I was at the game. May not sound reliable but the person I follow always has seemed trustworthy.

Even if it isn't true, and he doesn't get hate at the actual game, what I said still stands. He does get a lot of unnecessary hate. I would only have to refer you to the official Liverpool page on Facebook (I know, more social media) where every post by the page has hateful comments towards Henderson.

If its not vocal at the games then that makes me happy. But the hate he gets elsewhere is completely unjustified.

Henderson has been a central figure in the following

League cup win 11/ 12
Fa cup final 11/ 12
2nd in league 13/ 14
League cup final 16/ 17
Europa league final 16/ 17
Champs league final 17/ 18
England reaching World Cup semi final
England reaching nations league semi final

And whatever we achieve this season.

If a bit of luck was on his side he would have a decent trophy cabinet.

c_matthews, I appreciate that you were passing on what you read on Twitter, but like lots of other regular match goers, I am getting mightily hacked off with the nonsense written and spoken about what allegedly happens at Anfield on match days. I have posted previously about my experience in the Sir Kenny Dalglish Lower Stand (aka The Kemlyn) and Rome 1977 has posted above about what it is like in the Kop. At the risk of repeating myself, the haters, moaners, panic merchants and knobs exist on social media and sites like this, not at Anfield.

If u follow twitter as passionately as u say, then you'll know it's our manager who has been criticesed then Hendo including from rivals fans asking LFC fans who had/ have no answer why Hendo started over Fab lol.

WW--I 100% agree with you. I think there's too much focus on my first paragraph of my original post. I can't argue it as I haven't been to Anfield since Fulham! So I will take your word on it and as I said I am happy to hear the crowd at Anfield are behind our captain. I can put that matter to bed!

We're on the same side. The main point of the OP was to stick up for our captian as I am sure many have done before me and many will again. Just sick of the abuse he gets.

I know Anfield are behind the lads. Anfield was magnificent Sunday and as Klopp said, the reaction after Spurs scored was what the boys needed. The crowd are well and truly the 12th man. Special.

There is a simple solution to this, don’t go on Twitter.

Spot on Smeg Head! After all footy is all abt opinion, especially when one of your best midfielder is sitting on the bench in must win game.

My only intention was to have a positive discussion about our captain. Only because I had seen a bit of (undeserved) hate for him on a number of different platforms. Yes, Twitter being the main one.

I agree social media causes issues. It allows stupid people to give smtheir stupid opinions. Saying that I will most likely persist with Twitter haha. I’ll always ignore the hate our boys receive. Especially when it’s nit picky (we’re top of the league! )

Perhaps I worded it wrong! I’ll leave the posts to the pros!

c_matthews94, nothing wrong with the way you worded your post and for my part I was responding to the mindless critics of Hendo and others, not you. Keep on posting here lad.

Is Henderson being blamed for brexit as well?

Well the government do seem to be going sideways quite a bit.
