[Lyall Thomas] Liverpool reject approach from BayernMunich for Luis Diaz. He is not for sale and that has been made clear to both Bayern and Barcelona
And so the new negotiating tactics begin. shut down those low ball bids and save the energy until a proper bid arrives and the player is tempted by huge, saudi wages.

We rejected Barcelona last month because they weren’t willing to offer the money we want. Seems the same for Bayern. Quite clear the club is sticking to their valuation and won’t compromise for anyone.

I’d keep Diaz unless a crazy offer comes in which would enable us to buy an upgrade. The players we have bought so far are an improvement on what we have and a necessity for players who have left and also as part of the evolution of the squad. He proved an invaluable member of the team last year and as such there is no real need to sell him and make too many changes to the squad.

No need to compromise on Diaz. We could just keep him if the right offer doesn't come in. He is not the type of guy to down tools either.
If we could sell Nunez, Tsimikas (lb overload) and sign Konate to new deal.
Then sign a CF and CB. That would be a simply outstanding window for me.
Diaz, Elliott and even Morton, i have no bother keeping. If they go, I can swallow it. Only Diaz would need replacing. But I'm very relaxed about those 3.

Completely agree Davey - the squad will have been improved, weak areas addressed, and first team average age lowered.
I agree on not needing to replace Elliot - the guy made two starts last season.

ED001 Can Diaz talk to others?
Or is he just being refreshingly honest?
If Rat boy did this statement last year he would not have spoilt his legacy. Instead he treated us like fools and his smug attitude leading to him becoming the only player I ever seen booed in the shirt.
I hated that! I have been Liverpool supporter since my first match in 71 never considered booing any player. But I would make an exception for TAA.
{Ed001's Note - sorry what do you mean by talk? And how is he being refreshingly honest?}

Looking at the statement I would be very surprised if Diaz was sold this summer unless a very silly offer came in (only Saudi's could do that as Barcelona and Bayern won't) .

Im the opposite 1jj, i fully expect him to be gone this summer. This is all just part of the game.

I prefer Gakkers but Diaz should only go for top money.

Online suggestions over Diaz's wage packet were robustly dismissed by Anfield insiders last year and it's understood the attacker earns around £140,000 at Anfield.

Really wouldn’t be bothered if Díaz goes runs into alleys for me and never seems to get a cross in, works hard but if we can upgrade then do it.

Just going by Slot’s team selections, I’d hazard a guess that we’ll sell Jota, Nunez, Chiesa and Elliott to raise funds before we even consider selling Diaz, who was our first choice CF by the end of last season. Gakpo and Salah I see as untouchable. Diaz, I see as only being for sale if a Saudi club offer something utterly ridiculous, but I doubt he’d want to go there.
I see Wirtz as an Elliott replacement. I’d personally sell Nunez and sign Osimhen, sell Jota and sign Gordon, then sell/ loan Chiesa and promote Koumas. I think that drastically improves our forward options for next season whilst retaining our current first choice front 3. I’d have Diaz/ Osimhen as the CF’s, Salah/ Koumas as the RW’s, Gordon/ Gakpo as the LW’s and Wirtz/ Szoboszlai as the AM’s.

Koumas as the RW!? What are you smoking MK?
We still have Doak remember.

Funny how many things "need" to happen for it to be an outstanding window. I guess expectations are higher when you're on top.

I don't rate Doak as highly as Koumas, personally Skezza. Doak reminds me of Aaron Lennon; head down and sprint as fast as you can. Whereas Koumas has a bit more variety to his play.

I would think that the more likely place for Diaz would be Munich, purely and simply because they don't mind paying big fees.
Kane
Hernandes
Olise
De Licht.

Keep Diaz all day long, best season in a Liverpool shirt last season, why weaken our attacking options in our current strongest area when we have 2 CFs who need replacing! 2 years on his contract, low wages and resale value next year when he is nearing 30, doesn’t make any sense to take low ball offers. Personally I think lot of Diaz rumours is media hype, Liverpool have been consistent all along, not for sale unless rediculous money arrives and more than happy for him to run down his 2 years.
