Hi Ed, hope you’re doing well mate. Do you know if Nunez is as good as gone in the summer? (Romano is reporting it, but I don’t like taking his word as gospel) .
You used to say in the past that all 3 including Trent wanted to stay, when did Trent change his mind do you know? Thanks pal.
{Ed001's Note - Slot doesn't want to keep him, so he is likely to go, yes.
Who said he has changed his mind? As I keep saying, there is absolutely nothing coming out from Trent at all or his camp.}

Nunez gave up in February. I still think he should've started one of the second PSG game or the League Cup Final instead of Jota, but honestly all that tells you is how off form Jota was at the time, and somewhat proves why Slot was playing Diaz through the middle instead of either of them.
Can't argue Nunez' case anymore. I have tried.

Same here Something Red. Nunez had always been a loose cannon for me, not knowing what kind of performance he'd put in when he's on the pitch. But his work rate had always been second to none. Imo, it's unacceptable for him, or any other player, to not put in effort when they're on the pitch and he has done that multiple times in recent games. I'm done defending him and expecting him to come good. He'll leave in the summer.

I've always tried to back Nunez thought there was a player there and still do. But do question his attitude sometimes. Shame think at the right club could come good, maybe the lack of pressure in the Saudi league will do him good.

I think nunez just bit immature both on the field and off the field to succeed at really big club like lfc. Seems bit sulky if things don't go his way, he nobody to blame but himself he has had loads of games both with klopp and slot but just hasn't played well enough.
Not to say that he won't do well somewhere but I think it will be at a level of club bit lower.

Nunez may have had an emotional baggage, he came to us raw, I got the impression from first few games that he couldn’t live with the club and the legacy of his compatriot Suarez.
When it started to go wrong (first sending off), reset couldn’t be pressed in his mind, up hill battle from that point imo.

He’s just not technically good enough to play in the premier league.
He can’t time his runs, he doesn’t need to be “close to offside” he has so much pace and physicality that he should aim to be 6 inches onside when running. Sadly he can’t seem to get it right. If he’s not training hard enough that makes sense as this is something that should be easily sorted in training.
Secondly his finishing is erratic. He tries to smash the casing off the ball instead of making sure his finish is on target. Again, should be worked on in training.
A striker who’s often offside and can’t finish - yeah there are plenty of those in the Championship.

It would be a shame if Nunez went to Saudi. He's better than that and would be great in Spain, Portugal, Germany or another league just below the PL. He would have more time on the ball and get plenty of goals.
Unfortunately, Saudi is the place we'd recoup the most money so it's the most likely place for him to go.
That money would also mean we can spend it on the best replacement we can afford so Saudi it is.

id keep him over jota and Diaz he’s quick and direct i think the slow build up play the last two seasons have got him frustrated, for a plan B he’d be perfect get him on last 15-20 mins and change the possession based to full throttle while teams are tiring.

If a player has not fitted into the system his team play in two seasons then it is not going to work nothing against the player he just can not get to grips with what the club want and has to be moved on . Nunez is of that stature he will be good else where and good luck to him but not for LFC YNWA.

Nunez seemed to get a free ride with some fans and the word chaos was used to justify his play. In 40 years of playing and watching football I’ve never heard the word chaos used to describe and big up a footballer until a few seasons ago. You can’t even measure it in a game.
I’ve supported both him and Jota but it’s clear to see they aren’t suited to or what Slot wants so happy to see both move on and Slot bring in a striker (s) that he wants.

I'm not sure that he's not good enough for the premier league, last season he was on par with the best forwards in Europe in terms of high quality shots in the box and xg, he just didn't manage to convert them. Theoretically speaking he should have had a 20 goal season in the prem last year, that's why we were predicting he would explode this year with more composure in front of goal. He was a different player under klopp, I don't think this is a controversial argument to make.
He doesn't fit the way slot wants his number 9 to play, that's fair enough and he hasn't managed to adapt his mindset or his game to suit it. He is still a good player and not championship level, maybe not the top top level talent we were expecting him to be (though we don't know the improvement he could have made if klopp had stayed), he just needs to find a team that can suit him.

Absolutely no reason to keep Nunez, has contributed nothing this season and his attitude has been crap. Out of the 6 attackers he's the first one i would show the door, not Premier League standard never mind Lfc.

Klopp dropped him, as well, so I don't agree with this he doesn't fit into Slot's style of play thing.
If the game was played without a ball and without offside rules he might have been ok.

Yeah Rigsby, if the nets were 30 foot high too.
