Sorry Ed’s I know it’s been mentioned a lot! But sky sports are reporting that Werner is ready to join Liverpool, but Liverpool don’t want to pay the release clause before it expires? Can you shed a light in it please :)

Thanks stay safe.

{Ed002's Note - The "release clause" is not of any direct relevance to Liverpool. However ready Werner is, Liverpool have not made any approach to his club.}

So if the release clause is €50m (Or what ever) after the expiry date does it not go up to a higher price? I’m sorry if I’m sounding thick here Ed’s But if lfc are interested would it not make sense going for him before the expiry date? Are we missing Sumthn?

{Ed002's Note - The release clause is of no relevance to Liverpool. I imagine after all of the damage done that perhaps Liverpool will go in with a low offer.}

That would be crap if we went in low Ed after the way we’ve gone about this. I do hope we get him though.

I wouldn’t worry, I don’t think we’re in for Werner, if reports are correct, he wants assurances over playing time. Pulisic wanted the same and lucky for us, with him signing for Chelsea - we dodged a bullet.

I don't get the story tbh,

It states that if we bid for the player then we will get him.

But isn't that how transfers work? Player A has an interest at moving to a club but itll only happen if the club also want him and stump up the cash.

It just strikes me as a slow news day with a misleading headline.

I also don't think its smart for any club to publicly purchase a player in the 'millions' when they have complained about finances. Although I appreciate club finances and transfers are complicated on the face of it it wouldn't look great from a public image standpoint.

If he comes to England, it looks like a shoot-out between us and Chelsea as his destination. I like him and think he’d be a very good addition. It would give really strong options for the front three rotation with Minamino and Origi too.
Shaqiri will leave and it looks tough for Brewster also.

What have liverpool actually done in relation to Werner?

Liverbird it’s been explained by Ed002 mate several times. We have made contact without the consent of his club RBL. If you read up it’s all there in the posts.

Just searched DTD, it’s a shame that we have, I like Werner but we should act in the right way to get him.

No problem Liverbird. I agree WYred, I don’t agree with how we’ve gone about it but there is no doubting he is quality and he improves us.

I don't think the club want to be seen paying 60 million for a player weeks after trying to put their staff on the government payroll.

Or any club for that matter.

So I would not hold your breath waiting for Werner.

As Woodward said, the world has changed. I think this will be a very slow summer for transfers.

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool are not a club who care for such matters.}

What matter if I may ask, Ed002?
