Fekir and Werner, Liverpool's mission this month.

I think the Fekir ship sailed in the summer. The way I look at it, was that it was out of him or Allisson. If we were to get Fekir we would have ended up with Butland or cillissen as some sort of back up to Karius, and if we went for Allisson we would go for Shaqiri (or anyone else we had in mind for that position) . I think in hindsight we went for the right option but if Shaqiri was to fail then I’d imagine us going for Fekir which hasn’t happened. We’ll see what happens from now until the end of the season, we have 3 players that play that AM role in Keita, Lallana and Shaq so if Keita doesn’t get his s*** together before then I could see Fekir or a player like that coming in the summer with Lallana departing. Although we do have OX, but who knows how he will be once he comes back and maybe he’d need some sort of loan move to get back up to speed.

Werner could be a possibility as that would make sense, any one of our front 3 get injured or lose form and we’re a lot less dangerous and Werner can cover through the middle and out wide. Shaq should be starting more often than not now so I don’t see him necessarily as just cover anymore. That being said, are we even interested in Werner or even bringing someone in this window. For me it’s either quality cover for the front 3 or a CB permanent or on loan, because if lovren or vvd gets injured we’re in terrible shape.
