Salah scores yet again, just saying it would not hurt to get him in the summer since he is surplus at the moment. Kevin Stewart and Jerome Sinclair destroyed chelsea in the u21 match the other day and i must say stewart looked really impressive in that holding role "food for thought" should try them out soon with the first team instead of spending crazy plus origi in the summer so we'll be ok.

y2k3

{Ed002's Note - There is no chance that Salah would move to Liverpool in the summer after (a) what happened previously with Rodgers, and that (b) he didn't settle in England - hence the loan (and probable summer loan).}

1.) 08 Mar 2015 03:24:14
Who would you like to get rid of to take him? Ibe? Sterling? Lallana? Markovic? Coutinho? He hardly set the league alight. 4 goals in the italian league when he's fresh from hardly being played is no basis on which to buy a player. Especially when it comes at a cost of our own players who are equal to if not better than him!

Players like Minamino should not get so much blame although he missed a sitter, Klopp doesn't give him chances other than cup games and as a player not playing regularly affects performance and mindset. He has done well in the cup games so far so I won't crucify him for having a bad game. Hope we get to the finals and win it all.

1.) 14 Jan 2022 11:33:32
Doesn’t get chances because he isn’t good enough this isn’t u6’s mini league!

2.) 14 Jan 2022 11:48:42
If anyone was missed last night, it was Origi in my view.
Bobby and Taki are too alike in their playing styles, and we only had Jota who could mix it up and get beyond the Arsenal defensive line with pace.
Origi would have given a physical and aerial presence in the box too, when Arsenal went down to 10 men.

3.) 14 Jan 2022 12:17:05
Jota isn't a Right Forward and Firmino isn't the player he was, if we had decent squad depth with quality, it wouldn't be an issue, glad to see more and more fans in the stadium and on social media platforms are finally starting to see through the owners.

4.) 14 Jan 2022 13:20:12
Sent last post early by accident, can understand people being frustrated with takis miss but tbh I thought he did a lot more than jota last night he atleast worked hard and got a couple of chances, think it's unfair for people to go at taki when there were a lot worse performers on the day imo.

{Ed0666's Note - I agree mate Taki was industrious but Jota is just not as good as people think he is and when he stops scoring his fallibilities are there for all to see. Apart from football pundits who are oblivious to it. I’m glad he missed as we didn’t deserve to win that game. I thought Arsenal deserved a draw at the very least and i would have hated winning like that. One things for sure we can’t play any worse next week.

5.) 14 Jan 2022 15:37:42
The Juicer, that game was screaming for Divvy all night long, I thought. Shame he is injured. As for Mino, if we are going to hail the guy for literally keeping us in the comp. by rescuing us vs LC (and being the leading scorer in the EFL) then, I can forgive him for missing a tough chance last night. He played a lot better than Jota or Bobbie did YET he is the one getting the slander cos he did something EVERY striker at any level of footie has done. Sad, really.

Mind you, Mino is the highest scorer in the comp. and has scored in every game in the comp. Except last night. I don't play the reactionary game nor do I go into both extremes. Mino missed a sitter. It happens. Mino has produced immensely for us in the comp. That is also a fact. On to the next game.

6.) 14 Jan 2022 17:51:07
You mean like Bobby Ed. Nostalgia is keeping him at the club because he no longer presses, he no longer scores and his link up play is non existent. I’d be starting Jota over him any day.

{Ed0666's Note - to be honest I’d let Jota & Bobby go in the summer.

Lfc seems to have a knack for signing injury prone players, Ox, Keita, Matip etc. no to mention yester year Kewell, now we are linked with Konate which is seemingly injured a lot 🤔 just hope we make smarter choices when it comes to players in this regard. One of the best quality is availability.

y2k3

1.) 01 Apr 2021 06:23:57
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think Keita wasnt that injury prone when he was at RBL.

{Ed077's Note - wasnt when you agreed the move. Maybe him becoming a big time Charlie might have affected his commitment and thus fitness?}

2.) 01 Apr 2021 07:29:38
Ed077, nail, head, hit.

3.) 01 Apr 2021 08:15:23
I think the only previous injury prone players we have signed are Ox and Sturridge in recent years. Matip, Kieta and even Kewell all had decent to good appearance records over the seasons prior to coming. Hendo has missed parts of seasons since signing for us but he’s not regarded as injury prone. The fact that Konate has been injured recently will be of a concern and no doubts Klopp and the medical team will do their homework and will give a thorough medical if we do actually attempt to sign him. At the moment it’s all just speculation.

4.) 01 Apr 2021 08:21:25
100% eds77.

5.) 01 Apr 2021 08:55:56
Acquilani.

6.) 01 Apr 2021 10:37:57
OP, neither Keita nor Matip had any injury issues before we signed them so not sure where that came from. Also, Matip had said years ago that the PL was a very punishing league physically after his first season which ironically, was one of the only two seasons he has completed at LFC, I think. As for Knonate, Konate is just 21 and has been playing for RBL since he was 18 so it is normal for him to have some injury issues as his body is still developing.

Also as far as I know, Konate has only had one serious injury (a muscle fibre tear, I think) which is tough to bear but again he is still a kid and his body is still developing. I would not call the Gomez nor Konate injury prone cos they suffer either contact/ freak injuries (Gomez) or freak injuries/ accidents (Konate and his muscle tear) . Now Matip, Ox, Keita and Studge? IMO, They are injury prone cos they keep getting niggles and knocks constantly. Just my take.

7.) 01 Apr 2021 13:40:34
Perhaps our training is more intense and therefore exposes players to increased stress?

8.) 01 Apr 2021 16:29:12
correct me if i am wrong, but wasnt Stevie G also injury prone at that age do to him physically developing? If so he didn't do too bad for us.

9.) 01 Apr 2021 16:59:25
Spot on, GrinchRed. I think certain people on SM just use the whole "injury-prone" schtick without even know what that means nor without context.

10.) 01 Apr 2021 23:19:36
Do people really believe that being injured and being a 'Big Time Charlie' are related?
Nothing to do with the physicality of the game in this country, the crap refereeing and the intensity of playing for a Klopp team?
I agree with the wanting to see more out of him for the money than we have done so far, but it could just be the physicality is too much for him.

{Ed077's Note - if you don't work hard in training and don't maintain fitness then it becomes harder to deal with the physicality and pace of the game that you allude to IMO.

The reality is everyone including myself love the ups and hate the downs but life on a whole is like this and so is sports. We 1st need to appreciate the fact that we have reason to be disappointed that we aren't a team hovering around 7th or mid table any more, now we have won things don't mean it will always be like this. I will admit tho the players are far of from how we all know they can play and it seems they are not enjoying the game as they used to with an attacking flair but instead they are so focused on getting the result that they are playing a bit stiff and doubtful not relaxed and ready on put on a show and entertain as they can. All in all let's just hope this is our worst point in the season and we recover quickly and get moving again one game at a time with the support of the reds faithful Ynwa gents.

1.) 22 Jan 2021 13:35:51
That front three has been playing for the last 5 years and they are tired. You can see it on their face. Which is why Jota has been a success. But we need more. City has plenty why they always score loads and loads. Take out Salah and Mane and we don't have goals. People are blind not to accept this.

2.) 22 Jan 2021 14:06:12
So why have we scored more PL goals that City this season HS?

3.) 22 Jan 2021 16:23:16
We’ve scored more goals than Utd, Leicester and City. But they’ve won more games and have more points than us. I know which one I would prefer.

23 Nov 2020 13:49:06
Really hopefully Gini signs a new contract as he is very important although he doesn't attract attention he quietly does the business. Good game from Curtis Jones also Neco did well when called upon keep it up you reds ynwa.

y2k3

1.) 23 Nov 2020 14:09:45
I thought Neco was pretty poor. Don't want to slate the guy as he is young but pointless saying he did well.

{Ed0666's Note - compared to Trent and an outrageous performance from Milner most players would look below par. You can’t expect him to be world class with no preparation and games

2.) 23 Nov 2020 16:18:50
The guy was just returning from a foot injury, man. Lay off the kid.

3.) 23 Nov 2020 17:58:36
Thought Neco did alright. He’s young, he’ll make the odd mistake. That’s how he’ll learn. But he didn’t hide and he was always a willing runner.

4.) 23 Nov 2020 18:52:37
Disagree klucas, whilst he may of made a few decisions defending wrong by dallying on the ball to long, he was getting in some decent positions going forward and can put in a cross.

Can’t reallly compare him like for like with Trent or a MOTM Milner.

5.) 24 Nov 2020 03:16:54
What were you expecting from Neco coming in midway through the second with the game basically wrapped up? I'm worried how much we scrutinize our youngsters even when they give their best!
Neco is still a kid; please stop stating him while claiming that's not your intention.

6.) 24 Nov 2020 12:45:26
Nothing wrong with his performance, was a bit eager to play in the wrong areas but getting forward and keeping attacks going he did fine, he is a very good young player.

24 Sep 2020 20:34:40
Hasn't reached half time yet and I must say Curtis Jones looks so involved he reminds me of Gerrard and he might be young but at this point he'd be better for us in the middle than keita. Minamino pressing is impressive, good to see back Shaqiri and Tsimikas is going on well alone with Neco on the opposite side. Grujic has looked good so all on the up and up Reds. Ynwa.

y2k3

1.) 24 Sep 2020 21:23:28
I wonder what Marko Grujic could do as a CB instead of paying millions on a new one. He is surely tall enough, smart enough and aware enough.

2.) 24 Sep 2020 22:22:03
I think it was Jay Dub Red who suggested that or someone else did recently enough anyway (Grujic at centre back) .

Bad idea, would concede a lot of penalties, would get caught out positioning wise, marking/ tracking runs, etc.

He was very steady tonight in midfield though.

3.) 25 Sep 2020 03:10:04
Yeah I remember Sean ireland. It's purely coz he's tall and can play deep. But that's so he can stitch the play and orchestrate. Not coz he's a great defender.

I don't see it at all. He's a forward thinking player. I don't like the thought of losing him. I think he's going to be a top player, he definitely could be in the right team. I like the look of him more than naby if I'm honest.

@woolback so Jota will be fine watching games from the bench? No player wants that role and spending more for a player that is a little lower on quality doesn't sut well with me as a fan but that's life.

Werner imo they wanted to get cheaper but Rb Leipzig weren't budging on their valuation and then came Chelsea like a vulture. I love me some Firmino but think eventually Werner would displace him from the front three as he'd score more goal even though he doesn't do the same work Firmino does. Just my thoughts I maybe wrong but it's still my opinion till I know facts or otherwise.

I did not say they are better than sarr or Thiago please don't interpret me wrong, I don't do drugs either lol, I'm just saying the players we have are really good and with guidance and some confidence would potentially get better and instead of spending to get other talents which may not be much better it would do no harm to give them opportunities. If trent wasn't given a chance or Gomez no one would say they would turn out this good. Brewster, Wilson, Grujic and Neco etc. all good talents that can be explored but if the manager doesn't see it that way got to trust he knows best. YNWA.
