Thanks edds for all your hard work and patience during the transfer window. Some of you probably still have the ice packs against your head.
Quick question in relation to Lemar, reported in some papers today that Wenger will go in for him again in January.
Was Liverpools interest in him fabricated by Monaco or was it genuine?
Apologies if it's been dealt with but since the window closed I'm trying to convince my boss that I am good at my job and don't deserved to be sacked so time on your site is limited.

verdo1

{Ed002's Note - I explained Liverpool's interest and it was there. And Arsenal will almost certainly continue to talk with Monaco, who accepted their offer, and the player's representatives, who they did not put a firm offer to, in order to see what can be done in January or next summer. They fear Barcelona stepping in. And why would Monaco fabricate anything about a player they really don't want to sell?}

1.) 08 Sep 2017 10:40:44
Hello Ed02, Do you think Liverpool looking at him again in January. I don't know about the future of Coutinho ( if he would continue to angle a move ) in case he would be the replacement!

{Ed002's Note - Right now I don't think Liverpool will be looking at him in January.}

2.) 08 Sep 2017 13:29:10
I'd expect us to go for someone more like Meyer or Brandt now.

Lemar will be cup tied and 92mill for someone cup tied would seems steep for me. Just an opinion tho.

3.) 08 Sep 2017 13:30:05
Liverpool will look to Lemar if Coutinho leaves next summer. If Arsenal or another club snap him up in January, then our bad luck.
There is no space in the squad to accommodate Lemar if Coutinho stays. Its one or the other.

4.) 08 Sep 2017 14:03:05
I still think we should sign Snoop Dog instead ๐Ÿ‘€.

5.) 08 Sep 2017 14:04:22
Thanks Ed02.

6.) 08 Sep 2017 15:03:58
Liverpool will look at him if Barcelona look at Coutinho.

7.) 08 Sep 2017 16:40:14
*Shock Horror*
Are we saying that Coutinho to Barcelona wasn't a one-time only opportunity?

8.) 08 Sep 2017 17:56:42
Ed can I ask why you think that mate please? Appreciate January is a long way off but seems odd you think we wint return for a player who we clearly wanted, especially as when Couts might be gone?

{Ed002's Note - It was simply a knee jerk reaction for a player who Liverpool had not courted in response to the Coutinho situation and Klopp not managing to bring in any one of his four targets for this season. As I have explained, Arsenal will return and the fear they have is of Barcelona making a concerted effort to sign him.}

9.) 08 Sep 2017 20:22:17
Klopp has said before that only if the right player becomes available, not 2nd best fit,

So unless PSG or Sthmptn have a change of heart, (very doubtful)
I don't think there will be any incomings this January,

Hopefully with the addition of Robertson and the emergence of TTA and Gomez our defence will be meaner than last year.

10.) 08 Sep 2017 20:19:43
Keita, Brandt, VVD who was the 4th target?

{Ed002's Note - Sessegnon.}

11.) 08 Sep 2017 22:37:33
Do Barcelona see Lemar as an Alternative to Couts ed? Was it now or never ultimatum for Couts from Barca?

{Ed002's Note - Done to death.}

The window has closed folks so can we start looking forward now. We are entering the business end of the season and our team and club need us now more than ever.
Lets make a promise to cut out the bitching and negativity and actually give our team 100 percent support from now on.
Oh and smile for Christ sake.
YNWA.

We can always hope, Verdo.

31 Jan 2018 18:31:55
A great point made earlier today, if Utd beat Spurs tonight and we beat them on Sunday we would be 8 points clear in 4th.
Would that make us happy or would we still be moaning? lol.

verdo1

1.) 31 Jan 2018 18:40:38
Itโ€™s the united winning part and them being six points clear of us thatโ€™s hard to stomach ๐Ÿ˜‚.

2.) 31 Jan 2018 18:44:14
There would still be moaners mate lol.

3.) 31 Jan 2018 18:45:28
I absolutely want a United win (as much as it pains me to say it) . At the end of the day, what's the difference between us finishing 2nd and 4th? It's still CL football. I'd much rather spurs lost ground and we finished 4th instead of them winning and it being a 4 way fight for 3 places. Even a draw would mean points for them so I'm firmly (unfortunately) supporting Man Ure tonight.

{Ed001's Note - the difference is about ยฃ2m and direct entry to the group stages of the Champions League rather than an early start to the season in the prelims.}

4.) 31 Jan 2018 18:50:26
2 big ifs mate. They will win v Utd tonight and Sunday will be a very tough game at Anfield.

5.) 31 Jan 2018 19:13:41
Personally hoping for a draw in that game. 4th is ours to loose but united dropping points would put us in a better position to nab 2nd or 3rd.

6.) 31 Jan 2018 19:17:35
The fact that Utd aren't gunning for the title I could live with them winning tonight.
You are right kloppsreds7, two big ifs so dare I say it but we need Utd to do us a favour tonight. Then roll on Sunday when we will take three more off them. We owe them big time.

7.) 31 Jan 2018 19:18:12
Personally don't think we'll catch Utd so it's a draw for me.
Think rules change next season and 4th place goes straight to group stage. though it's difficult to keep track with all the changes! Bring back the champions league for champions only!

8.) 31 Jan 2018 19:19:46
Wash your mouth out! A United win? You got to be kidding mate? I will take a draw thanks.

30 Jan 2018 10:19:01
Looks like its over and out for this transfer window for Lfc.
Thanks edds for all your great work and patience.
Fast forward to the summer transfer window.
Five hours into it we announce the signing of Alisson. Then the following day the media report that Real Madrid are preparing a bid for Salah. And so it begins again.

Where is Macca when you want him most lol!

verdo1

1.) 10 Jan 2018 14:54:43
Macca comes when you think he's gone forever.

Gets hailed with his news (rightfully so)

Get abused like mad (wrongfully so)

then disappears into the sunset until the yearning reaches fever pitched again.

My guess is we'll hear from him on 22/ 1/ 2018 at 12:33 AM.

2.) 10 Jan 2018 14:49:13
Rumour has it that Macca was actually Pipco and now that heโ€™s bogged off to Spain there will be no more secret info coming out. Sorry.

3.) 10 Jan 2018 15:18:51
Davey, do you fancy yourself as a bit of a wizard? That was some Gandalf stuff.

"On the 22nd day as the sun reaches the highest point in the Sky, look to the banter page. For a Macca is never late, nor is he early. He arrives precisely when he means to"

4.) 10 Jan 2018 16:30:15
Macca is a mere whisper floating in the winds, that no man can summon such a power into this website.

5.) 10 Jan 2018 21:08:48
Yeah and if his info is not spot on he gets grief from posters, i don't blame him for not getting involved.

01 Dec 2017 13:28:47
Form whether it is good or bad is temporary but class is permanent. Unfortunately the class of some of the players we poses isn't good enough to win the league so our form will fluctuate. At the moment we cannot say with certainty no matter who we are going to play that we will win the game. This I think is what is frustrating the fans most. Having to watch games through our fingers even if we are two or three up.
That's my Friday rant out of the way.
Thanks edds for your great work and patience.

1.) 01 Dec 2017 15:36:28
That's what makes it so exciting! Edge of your seat stuff - even 3-0 up at half time and you just never know.

The thing is I'm not sure how long my heart can take it - it's never an easy ride!

2.) 01 Dec 2017 15:45:12
Verdo, No one can say with certainty if a team regardless of how good they are, can win a game. LFC is not different from any other team regardless of the type of the level of players they have. That is why footie is so exciting and not an exact science. Our fans are no different to other fans of other teams whether it is Real or Stockport as we all want our team to win hence, the nerves we have cos we know how good we can be on our day. Nothing is guaranteed in football which is why we love it. Supporting your fav. team is not for the meek, mind you.

Not sure what you are ranting about but you seem to be moaning about the very essence of football itself and slating our players for not being good enough or for not having class, is nothing but a cheap shot at them for no reason. They are not great BUT they are trying their best of late. We are not the finished article yet but we are getting there and there will be bumps on the road along the way. Enjoy the games. I definitely try to.

3.) 01 Dec 2017 17:50:22
There is a saying in the states about NFL, any given Sunday. That means anyteam can beat anyother during any given game. That's why I love it. If we knew that LFC were going to win every game, what's the point of watching? Granted I want them to win every game.

4.) 01 Dec 2017 18:20:38
Sorry BRover if my post comes across as if I'm taking a cheap shot at our players. To the contrary, I was hoping it would help people understand the level we are at and stop the micro analyses of each players performance. They can do ten things right but will be slated for the one thing they do wrong.
Pointing out the level of player we have is not ranting or taking a cheap shot, I'm just being factual.
I'm supporting Liverpool for the last 35 years and I'm not going to stop now YNWA.

5.) 01 Dec 2017 20:17:59
BRover are you the artist formerly known as Bingo Red. Why the change in name?

{Ed025's Note - maybe he was in a fight with two fat ladies and got punched in his kellys eye....im waiting guys..

6.) 01 Dec 2017 22:34:53
Verdo, I apologize then and thanks for the clarification of your post. Like you, I have supported LFC for 33 years and I will NEVER trade this club for any other. Red till I'm dead, for sure. God bless, my friend.

7.) 02 Dec 2017 04:49:58
Jayden

Bingo goes through the same emotions and pattern that I have been from years ๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿ˜†.

8.) 04 Dec 2017 09:05:38
At the moment we cannot say with certainty no matter who we are going to play that we will win the gameโ€™

What side in the world has that luxury? This is a professional sport with 11 vs 11 and no team has a predetermined right to win.

Swansea's game plan? We should have scored at least three.
Unfortunately though twenty minutes in you just knew it was going to be one of those nights.

Forget about the Ali to Liverpool saga. I'm sure there are hundreds more examples of clubs including others at Liverpool where a bargain was let slip through the net because of a simple under sight.

It also works the other way. Look at Inter. They sold whatshisname to us for around the ยฃ8 million mark.

I find it hard to believe that any professional player in this day and age would demand to start every game knowing they could have 50 plus games a season.
Surely it would have to be down to clauses, wages and length of contract offered if negotiations break down.

Champions league play off game in August will tell a lot. Will Couts actually play or will he be on the bench?

Klopp will be gone by then too so new manager would probably move him on so he can spend another 5 years putting his stamp on the side.

If we are serious about winning the league or any of the other competitions we participate in each and every player who crosses that white line to represent Liverpool football club should be a General.
