I heard a rumour that we are interested in Alan Dzagoev, who can play in the center or on the right.
Have the Eds heard anything on this or is bull.

C Mon Sturridge, this is the chance for showing your world class. Believe.

I wjinaldum for love
But I won't do that!

2.) 18 Sep 2018 22:04:36
What a game! What a way to win. I thought salah's goal should have stood but.
I tell you what, what a squad we have. Sturridge comes in for Bobby and was really good, worked hard, played on the wing, got the ball on target 3 times. Then we have Shaqiri to come on and he looked lively.

The more I watch neymar the less I think of him as a player. Technically brilliant and would be wicked in 5 a side. But this is football, a game of strategy and tactics. Trent was open EVERY time. What sort of player refuses to defend? I wouldn't swap him for any of our forwards, including Danny Sturridge.

3.) 18 Sep 2018 22:12:22
Divemar was awful.

{Ed0333's Note - I cant believe he just shirked a tackle at the end. It was just arrogance of the highest level. How his PSG teammates tolerate him I have no idea.

4.) 18 Sep 2018 22:17:44
Agreed Ed333, he's just unbelievably annoying, I can't bloody stand him.

{Ed0333's Note - I really don’t understand how he’s is treated like royalty mate. Im incredulous no ones given him a clip round the earole.

5.) 18 Sep 2018 22:20:15
Best bit of the game was late in the first half when Mane squared him up after a corner and jinked past him like a dad messing about in the park with his 3 year old kid.

Look, I know the guy's not a defender and Mane is the easiest player to stop, but it looked so effortless. I've seen U10s make better efforts to stop a cross.

6.) 18 Sep 2018 22:20:16
I saw that too Ed. He just threw his hands in the air and couldn't be bothered. The commentators kept insisting he should've been pulled off.

7.) 18 Sep 2018 22:18:11
I love Mbappe as a player but Robertson was always an option on the left as well. I think PSG wanted their pace on the counter and keep them higher up the pitch. Their biggest problem to me was shoehorning di maria centrally agianst us. That sort of thing works when you're playing an inferior side that wants soak up pressure, but I thought he was a ghost and really hurt them.

8.) 18 Sep 2018 22:31:11
I remember a certain point when the commentary mentioned that Klopp would swap one of our front three if maybe Neymar became available.

Why the f*ck would he do that, everytime he lost the ball that was it. Disgrace of a player. Not in it for the team, only it for himself.

9.) 18 Sep 2018 22:52:50
I thought barcelona were mad for selling him and it was just too good an offer to refuse. But if I were a manager I would hate to have him in my team. Horrible little man, spoilt brat and is not even in the league below the one he thinks he is in. I hope to god he is playing next time we play Paris. We always had an attacking outlet. It was too easy. Of course they have impact players who can hurt you on the break but we should have won 5 1.

10.) 18 Sep 2018 23:12:05
He is a rich mans Balotelli for me, has all the talent needed to be an incredible player but is more bothered about his image and being the main man. IF they actually put some effort in they may of got something from the game, but it is just a squad of inflated egos that need to realise that with talent needs the right attitude or you are going nowhere fast.

I think Mbappe is the star of that squad, but a lot should be said about the defence that Neymar didn’t have an opportunity to con the ref.

11.) 18 Sep 2018 23:14:43
There was only one real Brazilian forward on that pitch and like everyone has stated he was missing for most of the match. Untill he came on for us - FIRMINOOOOO!

12.) 18 Sep 2018 23:49:26
Took my nephew to old Trafford for the Olympic semi final and spent the whole 2 hour drive to the match, telling him you are about to watch a special player in the making. He was rubbish and didn’t do anything special, lazy then also.

13.) 18 Sep 2018 23:59:21
I thought Shaqiri brought a lot of energy when he came on. That was great when it happened.

I'm really happy for Sturridge.

I thought TAA had a very good game. He was very active.

Bobby Firmino. That is all.

I thought Gomez looked pretty composed and VVD was commanding in the air.

I also thought Salah looked more active, especially in the second half. Maybe active isn't the word, but more aggressive perhaps. I liked seeing that.

I know I'm leaving guys out. Fun game overall.

14.) 19 Sep 2018 00:17:37
How about our full backs? Shutting down Neymar and Mbappé like they've done nothing else. So impressive by TAA and Robbo, truly world class defending. They were helped by the tireless running from Milner-Hendo-Gini for sure, but what a solid display from them.

15.) 19 Sep 2018 00:16:18
Milner was brilliant. Ed01 said after the spurs game what a season milly is having. Totally right. He is playing better than I've ever seen him in his 16 years.
Hendo got stuck in all over the midfield. I'm always impressed with the way he controls the ball with his first touch and gini was all over the park.

Fantastic performance. Made one of the best teams in Europe look average. Without mbappe they would have been easily dispatched.

16.) 19 Sep 2018 07:35:28
The commentators should know better random. There no place for insisting such behaviour should occur in today's society.

17.) 19 Sep 2018 08:30:13
They said something along the lines off, "Wonder if Tuchel has the balls to hook Neymar. Doubt it though. "

18.) 19 Sep 2018 08:52:43
I imagine his team mates tolerate him in the same way that many of us tolerate some of our more irritating colleges - think of the money.

Hi ed's, readers, regarding Woodburn to replace Coutinho rumour. I just wanted to ask, with these inflated prices, do you think this is an incentive for Klopp to to use home grown talent.

simoky

1.) 18 Jan 2018 17:52:38
I think he'll always try to use home grown players if they're good enough.
We certainly have a few who have promise, love nothing more than to see local talent.

2.) 18 Jan 2018 20:47:25
Would love nothing more than to see Woodburn given a few games here and there. Aids his development, saves us a few quod if he’s good enough, raises his price regardless even if he’s not good enough! Personally after all the recent failures we’v had with players coming through, I’d love to see just one succeed. Wonder what’s going to happen with our current promising crop - Ojo, Kent, Grujic, Wilson, Brewster to name just a few.

3.) 18 Jan 2018 21:17:31
Ward, TAA, Gomez - I think we'll see at least two of those three succeed at Liverpool, maybe even all three, who knows.
Sterling, Canos, Brad Smith etc. have all come through and left for good money, so it's not been all that bad at all.

My biggest fears are for Wilson and Grujic, two youths who seem to have immense talent but not getting a regular run, we might regret that in a couple of years - think Pogba/ Suso to name just two high profile players of recent times who had to move from the UK and then suddenly are tearing up their new league.

I really hope we don't regret those two not getting enough game time.

4.) 19 Jan 2018 15:33:09
I still expect us to sign one player. Not a direct replacement for Coutinho but a midfielder.

Hi everyone have you read the article sky put out on Lukaku to man u explained. It says that he told Gary Cotterill last month he knew where he was going months ago. This suggests some deal was in place. Is this not tapping up?

simoky

1.) 07 Jul 2017 07:17:19
Could be, But Everton was aware the player would be off this summer and they will have no complaints if UTD pay them the money they value the player.
I wouldn't complain if Palace pay up £30 mill for Sakho given he has agreed personal terms.

2.) 07 Jul 2017 07:37:04
Face palm****

It's only tapping up if they speak directly to the player. Firstly, it may not have been Man Utd he was talking about and the landscape could have chafed since then.

Secondly, whichever club he was talking about could have sounded out Lukaku through his agent to say we're planning to make an offer to Everton, would Rom be interested in joining our club. The agent asks Rom (not the buying club) . Rom says yes. Buying clubs goes ahead with negotiations.

3.) 07 Jul 2017 08:08:20
You have to be able to prove it and if you can't, it is not tapping up. No one really knows what happened and even if it was tapping up, as long as Everton get the fee they want, they won't care. The same thing happened to Salah when we signed him from Roma, per Ed02. We tapped him up and Roma found out. What happened? They shafted us for m more money, we paid it to avoid another embarrassment and all parties were happy. This happens all the time. Now, we got caught cos a) we were guilty and b) it was all over the media and Saints (who wanted a bidding war) got mad that they wouldn't get one, which of course is their right.

4.) 07 Jul 2017 09:33:47
So if Southampton get the fee they want they surely won't care then regarding VVD 😉.

5.) 07 Jul 2017 08:43:07
87 its been mentioned many times on here that talking with the agent before getting permission from the selling club is still tapping up.

{Ed002's Note - No. That is not completely true. Clubs can talk to the agent - but there are limitations - I have explained that.

The process should be along the lines of: Clubs will typically informally ask an agent (a) if the player is going to be available, and (b) would the player consider a move to the club. There may be some broad discussion on the sort of deal that would be offered but no more than that. If the answer is yes, it is then necessary for the club to approach the player's club to ask if they would be willing to sell and if they would grant permission to speak to a player's agent formally about a transfer and possibly even the player about actually making a move. This will typically involve either broadly (through an offer) or actually agreeing a fee and responsibility for any significant costs (agents fees etc.). Once this has happened the club will be able to speak to the player's agent and perhaps the player himself to look at the package that will be involved. Many players are looked at and discussed at a high-level with agents and clubs; a subset of those have an offer placed; a subset of those involve discussions with the player's club; a subset of those involve discussions over terms, and; a subset of those go ahead.

Agents will often try and get more specific details of wages and other financials before they should - but most clubs are happy to follow this process. Players will often talk to other players about moves but, whilst wrong, is tolerated as it would be impossible to manage.}}

I'm really disappointed in that s**bag Suarez, by not apologizing to the club he has really shown his true colour and deserves whatever corrupt moneybags team he wants to play his football at.
I think the ball is in our half and we can maybe play Barcelona against real Madrid and get the best deal for our club.
I would really like us to buy Roberto Firmino, as I think he would be good just behind Sturridge, and that we keep Borini. YNWA

I think there are other issues that contributed to our recent form. Mane and some other players are not playing well at the moment. This could be down to illness or personal issues, They are people, we are supporters so why don't we support. There is quality in the team, I don't think Coutinho leaving is the reason behind our dip in form.
