The more I watch Jamie vardy the more I think he would fit perfectly into the way we now play, he's fast, direct, decent finisher can go past a man and has fantastic work rate. what do you reckon he would cost.

£15m
I like him but he could always be a 1 season wonder or once he's at a big club like Liverpool he could stop putting in the hard work because he thinks he's made it. Don't see any point in buying him to be honest with studge and Ings to eventually come back.

2.) 01 Nov 2015 16:14:17
15 million plus loads of admirers across the league. I would give Markovic a fair chance. Fast. Can beat a man. Decent goal scoring records in the past. Very young. And would cost ZERO.

3.) 01 Nov 2015 16:23:32
2 different positions, Markovic and Vardy. Watching Vardy and Leicester remind of Liverpool 2 years ago when we just went all out attack.

4.) 01 Nov 2015 16:23:40
One season wonder a bit like Kane let United waste their money on them.

5.) 01 Nov 2015 17:21:50
Another vote for 1 season wonder.

6.) 01 Nov 2015 17:35:10
if he keeps on scoring his price can beeven higher than 15m. He is not a kid either, 28 I think. This may push his price down but also make him less atractive.

7.) 01 Nov 2015 17:36:14
I think we have ings to do that.

8.) 01 Nov 2015 17:39:18
Agree. Seen quite a few 1 season wonders recently - Caroll, Michu, Kane. Let's talk if he does it again next season.

9.) 01 Nov 2015 17:45:30
Rage reds bang on with ings.

10.) 01 Nov 2015 18:45:40
I think we need more of a wing forward more than a central forward. Mane, Mahrez, Berrardi, Felipe Anderson, Alex Teixeira types, particularly of Lallana doesn't step up, or Coutinho goes in the summer. All of them have pace too.

11.) 01 Nov 2015 19:15:09
agree, we did not replace sterling even tho we got 50 million for him, we really could do with a winger/forward who has goals and assists to his game,
I do not agree ref Kane, who I think will become a great striker .

12.) 01 Nov 2015 22:04:23
We have Tekkers, Studge and Ings upfront with Origi and Firmino also options, so even if they might be injury prone I can't see us buying another striker unless we sell one first.

A winger though is a different matter, we have limited options there except Markovic (on loan), and Ibe (or perhaps Firmino at a push but I think he's a natural 10). I could see us going for a Mane or Ayew type player if we manage to sell one or two non-critical players from the squad.

Personally though I'd bring back Markovic and invest elsewhere if we plan to buy anyone at all.

13.) 01 Nov 2015 23:05:43
No point in buying another Brendan Rodgers-style acquisition. That is, overpaying for mediocre talent.

We already have enough CFs.

If we decide to get rid of Sturridge (too unreliable), then we should acquire a CF that would work best in Klopp's system-- a player in the mold of Aubameyang, with pace, power, and pressing ability.

That is, not Jamie Vardy.

14.) 02 Nov 2015 07:45:29
If we are going to get rid of Sturridge - mistake IMO - and we are going to stick with 1 up top, then we have enough strikers with Benteke, Ings, Origi and Firmino if required. Ings is an ideal backup/impact sub. Quick, busy, good finisher and deceptively good in the air. We don't need another striker if we are sticking with 1 up top.

15.) 02 Nov 2015 09:30:29
10 decent games and people are saying we need vardy lol. He's on a good run but he's always going to be decent player in average teams. No top team would go near him and I'll doubt he'll continue his run beyond Xmas. He's 28 as well so isn't going to improve if at all from where he is right now.

16.) 02 Nov 2015 12:37:06
I don't think Coutinho will be going anywhere any time soon. Klopp have demanded control over player sales and no one will leave if he doesn't want them to.

Well you have to give it to Rogers, need stuck to his philosophy of death by football, unfortunately it's us he's killing with it

I posted on Friday that I was struggling to get excited about the United game and felt we are just treading water until Rogers goes,I bet the ones that disagreed are coming round to my point of view after that. There will be more performances like that until sturridge is back and he's forced to play two up top

A keeper is a priority, we won't do too much till we get a top class keeper. just look back at the last twenty odd years, Leeds had Martyn's and lukic in the for of their lives, Everton had southall, Blackburn had flowers who at the time was brilliant, Arsenal had seaman, United had schmeichel and van de sar, all these teams had their best successes with their best keepers, no coincidence.

Milner was definately the worst today, in fact I can't honestly remember a decent game from him yet.

To be honest, I think it was more about how we set up rather than how Newcastle set up today.

I thought Allen was poor, he looks like a 14 year old playing in a man's game.

I personally don't think Allen is good enough for our first eleven.
