A lot of rumours from the normally reliable Paul Tomkins site he's already had surgery but has done both ACL and PCL ligaments, which is a nightmare scenario and one from which the surgeons cannot predict how well (or even, if at all) he will recover. Hence the lack of news so far. Really hoping this is not true but, if it is true, his career is massively under threat and in the very best case he will need a major rehab period (1 year plus I expect. )

Paul Tomkins did some nice research showing that the best predictor of league finishing position is the team value averaged over the season, allowing for transfer price inflation. For Liverpool this is expected to be well under £500M even after recent purchases; whereas for ManU and City their equivalent values will be more like £600-700M, having spent massively over many years.
The recent spending should take us over Chelsea and Arsenal, but still 20-30% less than the two manc teams.
So, for sure the pressure is on Klopp but in reality it will be tough again, I do agree that we need to be competing until the very end this time.

"Should be top 4 with 300M having been spent": this is simply not correct, LFC have the 5th most expensive squad after allowing for ins/outs, so if all the top 5 teams perform to their nominal level then we come 5th.
In fact it gets tougher than that, LFC have the youngest squad by far of the to 5 and many new players to integrate this season, so you could well say that 5th would be a good result.
But in sport anything is possible, and if one of the top 4 falters (as both Manu and arsenal did last year) and if we get things right tactically and the players gel, then let's hope we're in the chase all the way.
