Quick one for Ed002, please: Milan Å kriniar, possible for january or no go due to cost or other factors?

pronin

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of any approach from Liverpool for Skriniar nor where they would obtain the funds to buy him.}

1.) 07 Nov 2020 12:27:35
Thank you.

2.) 08 Nov 2020 11:00:14
Are the funds not available if they spread the fee over a few years? That seems to be the way a lot of teams are operating now. That was how Jota and Thiago were both purchased.

{Ed025's Note - maybe they could go "crazy georges" or the freemans catalogue and pay so much a week rennie?.. :)

3.) 08 Nov 2020 11:11:59
ha ha fair enough, but i think if there is a need, funds will be generated.

{Ed025's Note - only if you let some players go i would imagine rennie, the financial situation at liverpool is not good mate..

4.) 08 Nov 2020 22:13:25
There is not a need.

5.) 09 Nov 2020 10:00:51
Rennie - i think you are mistakenly thinking that Liverpool have a magic money tree. The club is currently burdened with a great deal of debt and does not have much (if any) cash at hand due to the C.V.. Any purchases in January will likely be financed by sales (e. g. Grujic) if at all.

Red Sandman.

6.) 09 Nov 2020 10:08:12
Oxendales for the more discerning dresser Ed025.

{Ed025's Note - i might try there then barry.. :)

7.) 10 Nov 2020 21:04:08
Have we tried the provident? We can just turn the lights off and hide when the provvy knocks.

{Ed025's Note - i have done that before now PP..

Harvey Elliott is now confirmed. Reportedly in competition with other Premier League clubs in addition to PSG and Real Madrid. I don't know much about him, other than him being regarded as a talented wide player and the youngest ever to debut in the Premier League. He would of course get my support regardless as he is now a Liverpool player, but it is a nice touch that he is a Liverpool supporter. Hope to see him a little against Napoli tonight.

1.) 28 Jul 2019 12:46:58
I've seen people describe him as the 'next Bale' (I'm assuming they meant the Bale who still actually put in an effort), but I haven't a clue what he's really like.

2.) 28 Jul 2019 12:55:08
zpecialone. Bale was also a left back. I'm not sure that comparison works.

3.) 28 Jul 2019 13:33:03
Really don’t want anyone like Bale

He has been a football mercenary for years now and he has a poor injury is recor

Certainly not a player I would have ever wanted at LFC once he left Spurs for that mob inMadrid.

4.) 28 Jul 2019 13:57:52
I think the only reason he is being mooted as the next bale is because of the man-bun lol.

5.) 28 Jul 2019 14:03:56
@EpicPotato: as I said, I haven't got a clue about this Elliot lad. I don't even know what position he plays! I'm just relaying what I've read in headlines, is all.

6.) 28 Jul 2019 15:37:40
From all the things people at Fulham and the England set up say, he’s nothing like Bale. Bale was always pace and power with no finesse. Elliott, although quick, also has quick feet, has a good range of passing and has a good football brain on him.

{Ed025's Note - please dont compare elliott to bale 6times, bale is a multi title winning international while elliott is still a snotty nosed little kid who,s only achievement so far was being a milk monitor mate..

7.) 28 Jul 2019 16:57:35
Yeah, but I absolutely detest Bale Ed025. Titles or not, he’s a cretin of the highest order and I think the treatment he’s getting from Zidane is quite funny.

{Ed025's Note - its hard to detest someone you dont really know 6times, you are going on media reports and stories that may or may not be factual mate..

8.) 28 Jul 2019 20:30:22
Back to OP. I liked what I saw from Elliot's cameo tonight. , he could potentially play for the next SCORE of years!
Born in 2003! :o LOL
He could still be playing in 2040, by which time I'll be XX years old, haha.
Hope he and we win some League Titles in that time. YNWA.

9.) 28 Jul 2019 20:45:02
One for the future and I hope LFC fans give him space and time to develop. Welcome to Liverpool young man, Harvey Elliot.

10.) 28 Jul 2019 22:05:21
He doesn't even turn 17 until next April so very early to tell what path his career goes. Looking forward to see how performs in u23s and hopefully he can show in the future that he's good enough for first team. Elliott 16, van den berg 17, Hoever 17. Those 3 lads are so young and hopefully can fullfill their promise. Could potentially be great investments like Gomez and sterling have proved in the recent past.

{Ed002's Note - And all still at school.}

11.) 29 Jul 2019 01:51:35
Yeah ed002 that is kind of what I mean, they're so young that they shouldn't be expected to break through anytime soon. They will still be teenagers in 2 or 3 seasons so we fans need have to be patient. I remember Woodburn at 17 scored a tap in and everyone was getting excited, he's still only 19 right now but so many seem to have him branded as a flop or wrote him off after 2 years just because he hasn't improved much, we easily forget he's still 19. Grujic has only just turned 23 and he has often been branded as unfulfilled potential. Wilson and Kent are only a few months younger but many label them as promising youngsters. It's rare to see teenagers play at the highest level every week. Just look at allison VVD, Robertson, fabinho, keita, salah, firmino, mane. As teenagers they weren't well known names with big reputations. Elliot, vdb and Hoever should be treated with patience. If Elliot doesn't play in the first team for next 3 years I'd bet that fans will be moaning and label him as failed even though he will still be a teen.

"Detest" is such a strong word, and should only be used to describe someone who has done actual harm to yourself or your family.

Please don't use that to describe a celebrity that you don't know in person.

Even bigger news for Ed001 than Sterling leaving - La Tercera reporting that we are after Gary Medel. ;)

1.) 12 Jul 2015 19:22:02
I love it if true

2.) 12 Jul 2015 19:47:23
Is it true though? Eds?
Remember watching Cardiff he was CLASS. He has great energy. reminds me of dirk

{Ed001's Note - he is available, but I don't know of any change in our interest. Having said that, I am in the middle of moving home so I am about 48 hours or so behind.}

3.) 12 Jul 2015 20:07:41
I must be moving ten houses so lol

4.) 12 Jul 2015 22:41:42
Nowhere near good enough sorry!

5.) 12 Jul 2015 20:46:22
MovinG into a bigger pad Ed with your slice of the Sterling transfer lmao.

{Ed001's Note - I wish, going to be sharing with the outlaws to lower costs.}

The Guardian are reporting that the Moses deal is done and that a £1M fee will be paid, there is no option to buy included. He "rejected" West Bromwich Southampton and Everton. Hope he is a shrewd a deal as Coutinho and Sturridge, and that we can make it permanent if that's the case. Loving the end of this window if it goes as it seems at the moment. :) {Ed002's Note - The deal is not done yet but will likely be completed.}

ED002 if you're around, please: You have of course previously spoken of LFC's many arrogant and stupid moves in the transfer market with tapping up and similiar issues. How bad do you figure this recent shambles with Southampton is?

Thanks for the great work.

pronin

{Ed002's Note - If Liverpool has again made an illegal approach for a player it is serious for the club.}

18 Aug 2016 22:19:23
Benteke to Palace for 27+5. Good deal, hope he does well barring against us. Good player in the wrong team with us.

pronin

1.) 19 Aug 2016 01:21:41
Agree, a good deal for us but also fair given the prices in this market for a very good striker.

Wish him well (except for games against us) . Never a player that made sense as he's nothing like our style of striker, but not his fault he was signed and I felt a bit sorry for him in the end.

2.) 19 Aug 2016 10:51:27
You would have thought we would have learnt that lesson from Andy Carroll.

11 Aug 2015 22:09:43
First of all: Eds, thank you for this site and all your insight. I have followed this page for years and have never needed any other outlet for LFC-related information regarding player transfers and the complicated system around them. I have learned heaps, even about that of which we do not speak; finances.

Over these years there has always been your fair share of plastic fans who slaughter players before they've kicked a ball for us, and jumps on the backs of others who have served us greatly and maybe went into decline. That is to be expected, as that's how things are in society in general. However, there always used to be a certain positive shine to things and a sort of togetherness. This off season though, I personally feel that the negativity is overshadowing that.

Now, I don't mean those who are voicing their concerns about transfers and treatment of certain players, or even the manager - but this doom and gloom about everything LFC.

Surely my little rant won't make a difference, but I just needed to get i off my chest as I really appreciate this site and don't like what is becoming the norm seemingly. You have my full support and I guess I just feel like saying the site deserves a lot better, as does our club.

Support!

YNWA, thank you - pronin

I totally agree that we are Liverpool I remember some saying that a club is nothing without its supporters so let try to comment on the positives let just try

Firmino's medical was completed in Sao Paulo at the end of last week and will join the squad after his two week vacation. I have a good feeling about this guy, and dare I say it: He gives me the Torres/Suarez vibe, although he plays in a slightly different position. Knock on wood, and may he be our missing link in attack.

pronin

1.) 06 Jul 2015 06:22:19
As long as by a 'Torres/Suarez vibe' you mean he'll score loads of goals and not force his way out 😂

2.) 06 Jul 2015 07:17:12
I hope by a 'Torres/Suarez' vibe he means that Firmino will inspire a title challenge.

3.) 06 Jul 2015 07:24:12
Agree with pronin, class player.

22 Aug 2014 06:57:31
Ed002, if I could be so bold: I am aware that you don't like to get into financial specifics due to the complex nature of them regarding transfers, but I wonder if the extras that come on top of the Balotelli transfer are significantly higher than usual? Thus making this less of a ''bargain'' than it would seem? You will of course answer or decline to as you choose.

On another note I have to say that I was certain this was lazy journalism up until today. I didn't think it was worth the risk, but now that it seems to go through I will support him all the way, of course. I have always liked his funny moments, let's just hope he keeps them innocent.

Thanks

pronin

{Ed002's Note - The answer is yes. This is why Arsenal stepped back earlier in the summer when there were discussions held in Brazil.}

Raphael Honigstein which to my knowledge is one of the most trustworthy sources in Germany, has said the he wants to leave and is available, but the price remains the same as they do not need nor want to sell.
