Thinking about dynamic attacking players that won't cost the earth, have Liverpool looked at callum macmanaman at all? raw talents I guess but is one of those players that could make the difference as a squad player for next season and wouldn't cost the earth. Appreciate your thoughts edds

{Ed001's Note - he was checked out last season and not deemed to be what we need. His rashness (or nastiness depending on your point of view) in the tackle, added to the kind of money Wigan are talking about wanting for him, have put paid to the likelihood of him joining us, I would expect.}

In terms of a flexible attacking player who can score goals one of my favorite Brazilians is Bernard. He fits the LFC profile perfectly and is currently in the potentially volatile Ukraine. Do the eds think he would be a good player for us? Would it be a very complicated transfer if they attempted to sign him as he only recently was a big money transfer there despite the fact that players must be unsettled playing in that environment? Appreciate your response

{Ed002's Note - Bernard won't be joining Liverpool.}

I am feeling positive about salah, 70 million for van dijk. i can't imagine Bonucci moving for much more and there is a mariana trench between those two guys in terms of that position. I think we have an issue in CM even if we don't sign players. Can believes he should be starting as i imagine does Wijnaldum and i agree with both of them. If Couts drops in i think that's a good enough midfield but i can't see hendo being delighted with that arrangement. If he is man enough to fight for his position that's Hendo, Lallana and i hope Grujic to make up a decent number of players for the midfield.

Much as edd 025 mentioned we need "a slotter" for those games when the bus is parked to make the most of that one chance. Plus 2 new FBs and that would be good business imo.

I wonder if Lallana might still turn out to be the player we were hopping when we bought him. He seems to be changing the way he plays as time goes on and I hope it continues. I would still be moving on Milner, Skrtal, Sahko (sorry but he is calamitous at times), Moreno, Migs, Benteke and Kolo. Maybe Markovic could provide the pace and penetration to counter defensive teams and maybe Ibe can come back stronger next season to do the same.

I see the shopping list as:

a CB to play with Lovren, Matip and Ilori.

a LB to replace Moreno.

a GK to replace Migs.

a striker to replace Benteke although Ings might just provide enough cover if we persist in just playing 1 out and out striker.

A winger IF Markovic isn't kept.

So 4 to 5 more players.

Let's change the manager as well eh, you seem well capable of doing his job. And the CEO job may also suit with your obvious financial know how. Sahko is twice the player of Loren. Striker wise we have Sturridge, Ings, Origi, Benteke, Ojo, you seem to be forgetting about Gomez as well as Flanagan for full back.

2.) 11 Mar 2016 17:21:31
North, I thought the CB to play with Lovren already played with him last night in the name of mama Sahko so don`t know what other CB you want us to buy? We don`t need 5 more players as we already have two coming in. we need a GK, an LB and a wide forward with pace and goals. Nothing more.

3.) 11 Mar 2016 17:29:30
We have a CB coming in already in Matip so that's sorted already. A keeper, left back and winger if Markovic leaves, as you say north, must be the priority.

4.) 11 Mar 2016 17:32:12
We only need 4 players. A top class gk a lb and playmaker and a player like reus. Who can play out wide who score goals .

5.) 11 Mar 2016 14:24:34
Sakho is more than good enough to keep. Don't forget Gomez. Agree LB and GK are a must. The striker situation is fine with or without Benteke. Ings, Origi, Sturridge and Firmino are quality and as we play one up front plenty. Also I'm not 100% what Ojo is, a winger or a forward?

Aside from a LB we are bloated everywhere else, not including up and coming. A GK is an obvious must buy.

Bogdan, Mignolet (highly doubtful), Skrtel, Toure, Milner, Benteke and Balotelli should go. Moreno if we have a decent LB lined up. Any youth who isn't going to make it should be sold and let them have a career. We'd still have a fat squad without replacements.

6.) 11 Mar 2016 17:43:52
Flanno as left back, smith as back up.

7.) 11 Mar 2016 20:08:51
Only need to buy for 3 positions. A new GK, but who? A new lb but again, who? For the only attacking addition, I would do everything possible to sign reus if it were down to me. Reus Coutinho and Firmino behind Sturridge. how brutal does that sound.

8.) 11 Mar 2016 20:38:18
I think what is clear is A gk and wide forward are priorities. As the ed has said the squad needs to be trimmed so there will be more leaving than entering.
The transfer market will be busy as Chelsea, Man City, probably Man U will all have new managers and new managers all generally get a transfer budget that is inflated, so we can't mess about this summer like we normally do.

9.) 11 Mar 2016 21:00:41
Does pace counter defensive teams? I think it's more to do wih angles, 1-touch, creativity etc. But ye anyways it will be interesting to see what Klopp does. I feel that too many changes in one window would be no good.

Desperately hope Lallana has a high tempo game tonight. If he can consistently run in behind stretching them we have a chance, if they all bunch in that final central third we will have a frustrating night.

If he picks his head up he'll do well IMO.

The missus went.

URGH, I bet he don't like that.

Pmsl. Talk about the occasion getting to him. It went from the cheek to a proper lip lock.

2.) 14 Feb 2016 16:40:26
I think that was Waro!

Looking forward to seeing the front 3 play together today, sturridge can expect a few kicks to "test" his fitness I would imagine.

villa don't tackle north, so he will have to wait until Thursday to be given a proper test.

Sound like we will be lucky to avoid a transfer ban.

Ironically "big" players leaving currently only means worrying about Firmino. I would like us to keep couts, hendo and lucas who are also on high wages but the rest of the high earners will be up for sale anyway.

For what its worth i agree with you Davey in essence, he may play small parts but much like kieron dyer his body can't sustain a football career. The evidence says he is done.

I realise were doing our Brazilian big brother Lucas a disservice by not including him, its the Brazilian samba quartet. If we bought a crazy Brazilian GK at least we could have a giggle when were conceding goals as well ;)

I really trust Klopp though, let's face it if he was holding there defence together and star man each week we wouldn't be able to afford him let alone Inter willing to let him go. Bergkamp sat on inters bench before the Arse bought him so who knows. If Klopp wants him ill back him :)

If we play well. and have some sort of point cushion in terms of top 4 then might be the main guys start in the champions league and solanke might get a few 80 or 90 minutes for games just after those matches. Lots of ifs but in a positive mindset with a result on sunday why not.

Awesome work MK, i really like the idea of Omar Colley. I am sure he would be a fans favourite but i don't know how he would fair against some of the more intricate attackers in the prem. Still i would love to see him replace the likes of klaven to give us a genuine alternative. I true warrior.

Well i will stick my hand up and say he has along way to go before I would want him here next season. If were here in june with him having played most matches or at least been available for them ill say I was wrong. I expect him to get injured again and despite his brilliance not be able to help the club like we all want.

This is a great site, its amazing to think how quickly we get responses to posts with accurate information on the club we all love.
Considering i check this more than Facebook or twitter its testament to the Edds. As a fan and someone with an interest in its continued existence I would gently advise you both to take a few hours out to breath a bit. There have been a few low blows said out of anger recently and none are really deserved in my humble opinion.

{Ed001's Note - I was just warming up! I hadn't got to the mummy's boy insults or anything yet. Let alone the soft southerner jibes etc. Oh well, I will save them up for the next podcast we do.....}

double doh, a few clicks later and I found the west ham bit out. They were talking about him playing Ireland so I put 2 and 2 together. Looking forward to seeing him next season in the premiership then.
