Lads, Been talking to my source today (ex player) . Fekir will be done in the week. Also Liverpool looking at Alisson but Roma want crazy money. Lallana will go. West Ham and Newcastle interested.

1.) 30 May 2018 10:52:10
I hope your right buddy.

2.) 30 May 2018 11:02:45
Just read that Roma want 80m. As it is newspaper journalists could easily be £ or €, as they don’t do fine details. Be that as it may, read we are interested in Cillessen but Barcelona want €60m. Alisson is a no-brainer if that is the price of a keeper who is no improvement. Pay the money and our main problem position is sorted for years to come.

3.) 30 May 2018 11:31:27
Goal Keeper will more than likely be butland if we are thinking about this realistically. Really can't see us spend 40 of fab 60 on fekier and 80 on allison. That would bring us to a total spend of around 180 and that's not even taking into account agent fees etc. Not unless we have another big out leaving this year.

4.) 30 May 2018 11:31:40
Yes hopefully. Desperately need Alisson or Oblak. Just passing on the message as always. Dismiss the Cillessen link. No way true. 2nd choice Barcelona keeper, 2 league games in 2 years, 29 years, prone to errors and they want 60m euros.

midwalesred.

5.) 30 May 2018 11:34:15
No way we are paying that amount of money on a GK. It will be Butland.

6.) 30 May 2018 11:49:42
If we sign butland we go backwards we get Allison we go forward simple, how much would de gea cost or courtois easily over hundred million English pounds, if we want a world class keeper we have too pay world class money.

7.) 30 May 2018 12:28:35
Maybe we could buy 2 goalkeepers and use them at the same time.

8.) 30 May 2018 12:07:00
I have my own sauce, he’s German and is called Heinz.

9.) 30 May 2018 12:27:30
Best not to get wrapped up in the numbers - if we can get Alisson then I’d love him to join.

A GK is a critical piece of the puzzle and can make or break a season as we just saw. The best PL sides in recent seasons have had Ederson, De Gea, Courtois and Lloris. enough said.

10.) 30 May 2018 12:40:07
Hailstones, I have to disagree with you. We are Liverpool and we dun pay for World class players, we make world class players. Look at Salah, he was a good winger but now he come Liverpool is a world class forward.

We just need to sign a good GK and we will make him world class. Simple as KLOPP.

11.) 30 May 2018 12:43:18
Hailstones I agree mate and Allison would definitely improve us. Im not saying I prefer Butland im saying I can't see us stumping up the crazy figure required to get Allison or Oblak.

12.) 30 May 2018 13:00:27
If we go with butland we will be repeating mistakes which we have made for years.

Butland is no improvement on karius and it would be £40 mil wasted, spend the extra £20mil and as others have said sort the position for years to come.

13.) 30 May 2018 13:10:54
No way £80m for a keeper, worlds gone mad! i think they would accept quite a bit less for Allison.

14.) 30 May 2018 13:18:29
‘We make players world class’. Let’s keep ‘making world class players’ and winning nothing in the meantime! Once they become world class they then move onto Real or Barca! We need to move with the times. Buy a world class keeper and let’s challenge for titles.

15.) 30 May 2018 13:40:16
We paid £75m for VVD Because we really needed a CB of his calibre, I can’t see how spending £80m on Alisson is that much more of a stretch, he’s the only keeper in the world that will be a massive upgrade on what we have and is realistic, so it’s either stump up the cash or stick with Karius.
That being said I can’t see it happening.

16.) 30 May 2018 13:47:26
Lavers, Butland is no improvement on Karius? You should have applied for Britain’s Got Talent, they could do with a good comedian.

17.) 30 May 2018 14:10:52
I'd love to be proven wrong, but I think Butland is the one who'll be signing. He's not been linked with anyone else.
Being the cynic that I am, seems to me like we're being led to believe that the club wants Alisson or Oblak, but that circumstances/ price will make it impossible.

At least the English media will not be as hard on Butland as they would be on a foreign goalkeeper. The fans, on the other hand, might just go the opposite way if things don't start well with him.

18.) 30 May 2018 14:12:03
I've been discussing this topic for years with fellow Reds. The major difference between Liverpool and Premier league winning teams is a world Class Keeper. My advice to Edwards is to target who we want and pay what's needed to be paid. We want a world Class keeper. 2nd 3rd or 4th place is not good enough anymore! Keep Ward as 2nd Keeper and go get us Alisson Becker or Jan Oblak!

19.) 30 May 2018 14:16:57
People talking about desperately needing Allison like he’s the only keeper in the world.
Anyone steady would do. I’d even take Pepe Reina at the moment.
It’s not hard to find a decent keeper for under 35m with change.

20.) 30 May 2018 14:21:30
Butland is in my opinion a better keeper than either mignolet or karius, although the injuries have set him back a bit. interested to hear the eds and people's views on pope? Peronally I'd go for Allison or Donnarumma.

21.) 30 May 2018 14:28:52
Klopps reds17 gotcha mate I jus hope we bite the bullet an pay like yourself, we sort it now then we boxed off for years too come in that position, I think butland is another Joe Hart an we will end up back on the goalie merry go round.

22.) 30 May 2018 14:29:26
If the £80M Quoted is true I'd pay it. de gea gains united a minimum or 12 to 15 points per season. If the 80M gets us a extra 12 to 15 points a season and stops the terrible mistakes like Saturdays performance from karius I'm all up for it. And most importantly it's not our money.

23.) 30 May 2018 14:30:37
Butland is better than Karius nor Mignolet. Our thinking needs to change if we are to win trophies again! World class talent is the way to go not being a talent pipeline for Barcelona or Real Madrid.

24.) 30 May 2018 14:47:00
Calm down men I’m sure the club knows where and what we need to improve and are looking to do so but also take in to consideration that the club will have a budget for transfers and wage structure to work within it’s not as simple as a game of champ man .

25.) 30 May 2018 14:53:04
sorry not to jump on the band wagon but I truly hope we stick with Karius. I don’t believe in scrapping a player after one season. Until recently I believed Robbo wasn’t good enough and he has proved me so wrong. I hope we stick with Karius provided he can move on and improve. Then the proof is in the pudding! Either perspective, my trust lies in JK.

26.) 30 May 2018 14:55:48
1985 mikey problem with your assessment is that we overpaid for vvd and he isn't even the best cb in England, let alone Europe.

27.) 30 May 2018 15:04:19
Magico. but this isn't DeGea we are talking about. Everyone would spend that money on him. How many seasons has Allison done it. And what is it that he has done? He might pull off world class saves every week, but I'm going to be honest I've not seen him play outside the champions league. I'd wager a guess that's the same for most Liverpool fans. Didn't see anything against us to say he's at De Geas level either.

28.) 30 May 2018 15:08:15
2 seasons uncle Ben. His mistakes early in the First season cost him a place and he was doing the same things that punished us on Saturday. I'm all for giving players a fair chance and I think Karius has had plenty and Imo has still not shown enough to be our 1st choice keeper with or without his performance at the weekend.

29.) 30 May 2018 15:16:31
Watched roma a few times this season and he is a very very good keeper. I agree he didn't shine against us in champs league. Not saying he's the best available but he's twice as good as migs or karius combined in my opinion. Who else is out there? Oblak. never really seen him myself.

30.) 30 May 2018 15:32:34
It’s easy Alisson is a World class keeper young with experience and you know he will make us a lot more stronger than Butland or Karius. Pay the money! 100m is a bargain!

31.) 30 May 2018 15:36:25
Our biggest issue is that Roma and A Madrid know we are in need of a new keeper, I wouldn’t say desperate for one but extremely keen for one.
Neither Madrid or Roma need to sell, both players tied to a contract so they can play hard ball like we did with Coutinho, so unless like Pip did and either player forces through the move it’s going to be tough to do a deal.

32.) 30 May 2018 16:50:14
I would say that the answer to this problem is none of Cillessen, Butland or Navas as we’re just setting ourselves up for a very expensive mistake. There are plenty of alternatives out there if the likes of Becker or Oblak are too pricey. Bernd Leno or Mattia Perin for example. Or we stand by Karius and give him the opportunity to improve.

33.) 30 May 2018 17:49:28
magico. You say that he's twice as good as Migs and Karius combined? Migs and Karius combined would be one hell of a creature. With 4 arms and 2 heads. Maybe that's what we need.

{Ed025's Note - only one head EP...karius.s head went last saturday mate.. :)

34.) 30 May 2018 18:06:13
I don't agree that Butland is either a backwards step or worse than or even same as Karius. He is an upgrade but whether he is the required upgrade is a different matter. Questions over Butland around how much he can improve and how much the long injuries have taken from him. Alisson is a big step up and I'd agree with those saying the money is worth spending. You can tell the competence of a club by whether or not they understand the value of key players and keeper is a key player. Will be interesting to see where this goes.

35.) 30 May 2018 18:12:59
To the person who asked about Pope. If you could guarantee that he would always be as good (or improve) as he was this season then I would definitely say yes to him. But we can’t, and I just wonder if it’s one of those English players who has a good year and then Liverpool buys them to save some money. I do like him though, best English keeper in my opinion.

36.) 30 May 2018 19:24:31
Leno and Reina to replace our 4 keepers.

37.) 30 May 2018 20:28:38
Honestly if we are going to splash on a keeper it should be Oblak. He’s been class for several years and imo is up there with De Gea as best in the world.

38.) 30 May 2018 21:56:56
Fantasy football on here. People talking about 80million like it’s pocket change. 2 years ago that would have made any player the 3rd most expensive of all time.

After this it will be buy another CB for 60 mil, another striker for 80mil and Fekir for 70 mil. The numbers don’t add up.

Some of these players might actually not want to even play for us!

39.) 31 May 2018 09:25:15
Assuming we have the money to spend, I think we need to forget about the fact it's a goalkeeper and that it would be way over the current record fee for a goalkeeper. It's simple - if our big problem was scoring goals and a top striker became available for £70m and we signed him and he scored the goals that made a difference, won matches that would otherwise have been drawn or lost and, therefore, gave us more points and better chances of winning trophies, we'd all be happy with that. So I don't see it as being any different with a keeper.

If we sign a keeper who makes saves that most other keepers don't make as well as making fewer errors that lead to goals, then we'll have more points, win more matches and have a better chance of winning trophies. Look at de Gea. The points he saves and earns for United probably outweigh the points won by Lukaku at the other end of the pitch. If we had de Gea at our club this last season, we'd probably have finished two places higher in the league and might have won the European Cup. So if there is a keeper available who can make that level of difference, and we've got the money, I'd be happy for us to pay whatever it takes.

Lads!
Fekir is done! Spoke to an ex lfc player (Stephen Wright) who is still great mates with Stevie and he is saying Fekir will be done after final! Transfer around the 60m mark. Also talks ongoing with Dembele.

Cheers,
Mid Wales Red.

1.) 21 May 2018 13:02:51
Echo are reporting we are set to make contact after the final. Not sure how anything can be done if there has been no contact up until now.

2.) 21 May 2018 13:14:50
the echo know absolutely nothing.

3.) 21 May 2018 13:48:58
Please, be true.

4.) 21 May 2018 14:23:14
Not a clue if he is any good as never seen him play but from everybody else’s comments hope it’s true😀.

5.) 21 May 2018 14:00:01
I really hope it's true, but I won't believe anything until or unless one of the Eds reports it. They aren't always the first, but they are far and away the most accurate.

6.) 21 May 2018 14:12:21
Thanks for the info mate if true but personally, I'm not buying this one bit. I'll believe it when/ if it happens.

7.) 21 May 2018 14:51:30
Well the Lyon director said there had been no contact from Liverpool. In order to avoid any sort of tampering charge there are third parties employed to work out a deal before hand. I am sure the club have been in contact with his agent who has spoken to Lyon about a transfer. Rarely do clubs blindly go into buying a player without having assurances the player is interested.

8.) 21 May 2018 15:46:24
Lyon and Eds has said we have not made contact.

9.) 21 May 2018 16:15:24
I'm just passing what I've heard on. Pretty accuarate in the past. Told me about Ox deal in the summer before it came out. Hope he comes. Also Tarkowski being mentioned and Alderweireld.

10.) 21 May 2018 16:38:39
Kloppsred17, you need to read between lines. What do u expect the Eds here to say? Fekir has signed and will be announce after? That will contradict many and send whole media to overdrive and Klopp has to come out t9 'dispel' the falsehood.

11.) 21 May 2018 18:38:20
LFC and lyon have agreed fee. personal terms haven't and are yet to be finalised. luckily chelsea failed in top 4 as they have spoke to him but and preffered cfc. but had not agreed fee with lyon.

12.) 21 May 2018 19:33:59
Hope we avoid Tarkowski, he’s a Micheal Keane mk2 if you ask me.

13.) 21 May 2018 21:09:50
Put him alongside a good centre back like Virgil and he could develop into a better and more effective player than the others we have. Premier League experience under his belt. give the guy a go and dump Matip.

14.) 21 May 2018 23:32:21
Fekir looks good and I trust Klopp and the scouts recently but I’m always a little wary of players coming for other leagues, especially France, Italy and Netherlands.

15.) 22 May 2018 03:59:35
The last one coming from Italy league didn't done bad either.

16.) 22 May 2018 09:35:22
Mid Wales red, I have to ask why lfc are discussing transfer targets and supposedly completed deals with the manager of Rangers?

17.) 22 May 2018 14:02:38
Brisbane LFC I'm just passing on the message, He been working with the club last year so surely he knows more than most. We will see when I will be right or not.

Red kurd - no I admire the work Eds have done here. With Fekir it was a done deal till the medical found out about the troublesome knee. Red Kurd - Thanks mate. I just pass on the info. Like I said, I know a few of the ex players who is in the know.

Thanks,
Midwalesred.

midwalesred

{Ed001's Note - sorry but your information is incorrect. There was no done deal and they knew about there being an issue with his knee before speaking to Lyon. It is financial the issue, Aulas is a very tricky customer to deal with.}

Apologies, Also get info from other ex players as well. Also Eds said that if we got Chiesa it would be a direct replacement for Salah so don't believe everything he says. Shaqiri is pretty much a done deal.

{Ed001's Note - says the guy who told us Fekir was done and Alisson was a week or two away!}
