Ed002, a previously accurate Austrian journalist has said we've made contact with valon berishas representatives. Do you have any information or are you aware of any interest?

lmred

{Ed002's Note - Valon Berisha has been watched by scouts of several sides including Liverpool but only one PL side has opened talks - and it is not Liverpool.}

Hi ed002,

You've mentioned the possibility of Dani Ceballos moving to Liverpool before.

Reports coming out of Spain say that Ceballos is now actively pushing for a move to Liverpool is there any truth in this?

Thanks in advance for your time.

lmred

{Ed002's Note - I don't know if he is "pushing" in any way but Klopp is keen.}

1.) 01 Mar 2018 07:28:31
Do you think Dani has received his PowerPoint and information pack then Ed?

{Ed002's Note - Most probably.}

17 Jan 2018 21:55:44
Hi Eds,

Reports from usually reliable sources about a young CB called Ben Wilmot from Stevenage.

Is it true we're interested? (as are many other clubs)

Thanks.

lmred

{Ed025's Note - apparently liverpool and spurs are the front runners for his signature imred..

20 Nov 2017 19:15:33
Hi Eds, Francisco Ferrero agent of benfica has come out in an interview and said Liverpool spoke to himself and benfica about a transfer last summer. Is there any truth in this? Or is it an agent trying to drum up interest?

lmred

{Ed002's Note - A number of clubs have spoken with him apparently including Liverpool. But keep in mind he is not for the first team.}

28 Aug 2017 14:30:02
Liverpool have signed Naby Keita, to join next summer.

Paul Joyce tweet.

lmred

1.) 28 Aug 2017 14:45:48
Is it true Keita has passed a medical and will be coming to liverpool next summer? James Pearce just announced it on Twitter.

2.) 28 Aug 2017 14:47:08
undergoing his medical today.

3.) 28 Aug 2017 14:51:40
Wow! Keita joining the mighty reds!

4.) 28 Aug 2017 14:51:51
Surely you can't pass a medical for a year in advance! Anything could happen in the following season Eds?

5.) 28 Aug 2017 14:52:04
Graeme Kelly is a genius.

6.) 28 Aug 2017 14:53:24
I don't understand why is he having a medical now if it's not happening until next summer? Are we signing him and loaning back for the season?

7.) 28 Aug 2017 14:54:19
Apparently paid more than his release clause, Can's replacement?

8.) 28 Aug 2017 14:55:20
Would make sense to get Sanches on a season long loan.

9.) 28 Aug 2017 14:56:07
Well done Macca! If Keita and Lemar coming in then Couts is gone.

10.) 28 Aug 2017 15:01:40
Now showing on BBC. If right, credit to Macca. Well done pal! I normally hate Mondays. But this. After a 4-0 win over Arsenal. I might evn buy the wife some flowers (cheap ones mind) .

11.) 28 Aug 2017 15:02:45
Slightly gutted he's not coming in now, but if we can bag ourselves Lemar I think that's a good signing as he can genuinely cover a few positions.

12.) 28 Aug 2017 15:02:47
Don't know why it took them this long to realise that was the best possible deal.

They didn't want to lose him
We wanted him
They knew he was off next year for 20 mil less
We want him and are willing to pay
We have can until next summer
Buy him and loan him back

Can't decide wether there idiots or geniuses. Haha.

13.) 28 Aug 2017 14:52:43
If true mr ed 002 owes me an apology from my post on 1st august were he shot me down in flames for suggesting this idea.

{Ed002's Note - Keita does not have a "buy out clause". He has a "release clause" that is not now nor will ever be of relevance to Liverpool. Whatever Liverpool end up paying for the player will be unrelated to that "release clause". Try not to be an embarrassing DF.}

14.) 28 Aug 2017 14:59:06
Bye bye Emre Can then!

15.) 28 Aug 2017 15:04:26
OMG! Brilliant news about Keita. What a player this lad is.
Pity we have to wait til next season but he's definately worth waiting for.
Well done LFC for getting the deal done .

16.) 28 Aug 2017 15:06:47
That is some serious good news.

17.) 28 Aug 2017 15:08:16
I reckon we kept it quiet because we didn't want any other clubs getting wind of the deal we were setting up.

18.) 28 Aug 2017 15:14:15
Now on front page of the Echo.

19.) 28 Aug 2017 15:15:48
I will be really gutted if we lose Can. If you could guarantee me that kieta will perform to Can's standard atm then I'd be happy. That says it all really. Hopefully Can signs as he sees liverpool are serious about building something special. I actually think pipco and Can are crazy for wanting to leave. We are clearly on the way up.

20.) 28 Aug 2017 15:20:54
Agree Supered, I think Can will be immense in time (already pretty immense this season so far! ) and would love to see him stay but I suspect if Keita is signing that might be the trigger for Can to re-evaluate his options and leave on a free next year to a side that will make him a guaranteed starter. Hope I'm wrong.

21.) 28 Aug 2017 15:31:09
I agree Superred, Keita deal is great news but would be dampened by the loss of Can, I want to keep Can desperately. He's shown massive strides in improvement knows not to hold onto the ball to long now.

Fingers crossed Can sees our ambition and feels he can get enough playing time in the side. I don't blame him if he's been told he'll be back up though he needs to be starting often.

22.) 28 Aug 2017 15:40:09
I know SGRED. He's been unreal this season and is clearly getting better. Kieta deal certainly sweetens the fact that Can will leave. The thing that gives me hope is the fact I can't see liverpool missing out on decent money for Can. Surely we wouldn't wanna miss out on a decent fee. If we get lemar I think we need to off load one or two. Perhaps origi and coutinio out lemar and vvd in.

23.) 28 Aug 2017 15:41:34
Finally some movement in the transfer front. especially for our main targets.

24.) 28 Aug 2017 15:43:02
Medical now, finding a house, shouldn't Keita be coming now?

25.) 28 Aug 2017 15:47:03
ed02 obv the release clause is relevant as a starting point for negotiations. If Bayern can take him for 48m next summer clearly we offered a better option to not have him end up at a rival team in the same league as RBL.

{Ed002's Note - The release clause has nothing whatsoever to do with Liverpool - and Bayern Munich has nothing to do with the matter at all.

As for the rest of your post, it was simply abuse. The site does not need you or any other trolling ignorant rubbish like you. I deleted it and your account.

As for the posts you and the other dum fucks have been trolling, we will be deleting those as well.}

26.) 28 Aug 2017 15:48:04
Ed002 as question for you:

I have just read in a german forum that it is not possible for a player to sign a pre-contract one year in advance. Is that true? If so how are these kinds of businesses handled then?

{Ed002's Note - A player can join a club and be loaned back. A player can sign a pre-contract to sign with another side six months before his contract ends (if a foreign side) or at the end of the playing season (if it is a side in the same country). The clubs can agree a future transfer of the player but it cannot become part of the player's contract, the player cannot be registered with the new side and the Application for Registration and provision of International Clearance and the Granting of a Work Permit cannot take place until the move actually happens.}

27.) 28 Aug 2017 15:57:31
Are we still interested in Navy Keith though?

28.) 28 Aug 2017 15:58:01
Wow! Could it bee keep Couts for a title push, let him go next summer, Keita comes in? Need to get the rock solid CD over the line too, then I'd a 8/ 10 to the recruitment team for their summer.

29.) 28 Aug 2017 15:58:54
There's are 3 midfield positions you know guys. It is possible for Emre and Keita to play on the same team. It doesn't have to be one or the other especially if coutinho leaves at some point. Maybe Klopp has a plan to become a midfield force with hendo can and Keita with Gini and lallana the quality depth. Hopefully Emre sees that this year!

30.) 28 Aug 2017 16:00:46
Sky are confirming it now.

31.) 28 Aug 2017 16:07:44
My opinion. Winaldum/ longball hendo replacement Can will sign if all well by xmas. If Ox turning down 180k then im sure thry will up the offer to Can.

32.) 28 Aug 2017 16:15:46
Thanks Ed002 :)

33.) 28 Aug 2017 16:18:37
Depending on how RBLs season goes, could he be ours in January? Say they're out of the CL, Bayern 12 points clear in Bundesliga.

"For a few dollars more" starring Navy Keith.

34.) 28 Aug 2017 16:20:32
Ed002 I said just for convo starter on 1st august do u think we could buy him and lone him back for a year.

{Ed002's Note - Why lie now? Your words were "Liverpool could buy keita for his buy out clause". I have already explained. I don't kow why you wish to embarrass yourself even further.}

35.) 28 Aug 2017 16:23:41
On current form I'd drop Hendo altogether. I know he has had some issues with injury and he is being asked to do the unglamorous jobs in the middle of the park but he's really not been good enough this season so far or before his layoff last. Give him a chance to recover properly and switch back on. even Sunday's game passed him by.

36.) 28 Aug 2017 16:42:38
Kudos to Mecca for calling the Keita signing, when there were so many doubters.

37.) 28 Aug 2017 16:36:25
I know TIA19 but apparently Can is concerned about playing time. That is why he hasn't signed an extension. More midfielders coming in can only be a bad sign. That said, I hope you're right and the thing is, if Can isn't getting playing time that was because he wasn't doing enough in training. That certainly seems to have changed and for me he is the first midfielder on the team sheet. Hendo, Can and kieta would be awesome. Can kieta and lallana too. We will have too much class in the midfield.

38.) 28 Aug 2017 16:37:46
These are great problems to have though. Last season I wouldn't have believed we would be arguing about who to pick out of such a good pool.

39.) 28 Aug 2017 16:56:28
No way, Jock. Hendo is getting better and he was more than solid last night. You can regain full fitness without actually playing, end of. Why would you drop a player who is getting better esp. if he is coming back from a long injury lay off or were you not aware of the fact that he has not played a game since February? Hendo is getting up to speed and he was good vs Hoff and much better vs Arsenal hence, he should not be dropped.

40.) 28 Aug 2017 17:38:37
Jock, did you even watch the Arsenal or Hoffenheim matches? Henderson was one of our best performers and led by example. Think before making unfair and silly comments.

41.) 28 Aug 2017 17:42:08
WTF you lot on he's not coming till next year bloody hell hardly took macca to tell us that would happen. The centre half is the real area of concern D day tomorrow!

42.) 28 Aug 2017 17:50:29
Naby should leave the house hunting for a year and pick up a Brexit bargain.
My hope would be that we can secure Can also, with Gini that would be a powerhouse midfield.

43.) 28 Aug 2017 18:32:43
I said for the buy out clause which it sounds like that plus a premium why u being a pump.

44.) 28 Aug 2017 19:01:04
Bingo Red. Keita is the ball winning driving the team forward, kante type player. Hendo is the sit along the back four sideways passes and longball to the wing. he doesn't drive the team at all, and is not a spoiler. better suited to Man U than Lpool. Personally Can, Keita and Lemar-kovacic is the better midfield.

45.) 28 Aug 2017 20:15:06
You need someone like Hendo in the team. He plays it sideways a lot but that is stitching the play together and switching the ball. This is how you break teams down. His ball winning skills and leadership quality and stamina and speed make him an absolute must for me. Can Hendo and kieta would be devastating.

46.) 28 Aug 2017 20:33:25
Whos going to play defense splitting balls. Goals fron Mid. that's why lemar kov. Are being looked at. 1 had got to go.

47.) 28 Aug 2017 21:28:52
"Hendo is the sit along the back four sideways passes and longball to the wing"
Ok Rio. let’s completely ignore the freedom he had vs Hoff and Arsenal where he was able to fly forward and press the OPPONENTS cbs and win us the ball for a goal scoring opportunity.
That is his game. He was always MUCH better in an advanced role and our midfield 3 seem to have the freedom to swap who sits back while someone goes forwards so he will be doing it a lot more (I hope)
He isn’t just a 'sideways/ backwards passer' or 'long ball to wingers' type of player. He brings a lot more than that. You must be thinking of the great Welsh Xavi or something or you only watched a friendly game when Hendo had A LOT of catching up to do with his fitness and speed.

48.) 29 Aug 2017 13:29:16
You're spot on red Phil. Anyone who thinks Hendo isn't good enough for liverpool simply don't know what they're chatting about. The lad oozes class.

Ed001, have you managed to watch any of Grujic early games?

I was highly critical of him at Cardiff but by all accounts he has been exceptional at Hertha who are 2nd in the league (unfortunately got injured this weekend) . Would be great to hear your thoughts!

Just picked up a few quotes from their head coach and some of the press here in case you're interested:

Pal Dardai (coach) : "Marko is an exceptional player in midfield. I've never said that about anyone since I was coach here. It's not normal for us to be able to get him. "

Michael Preetz (sporting director) : "Marko has managed to make a significant difference to our game in the short time he has been with us, which is why the loss for him personally and for us is very, very bitter. Now we will look after him and help him, so that he can play that role as soon as possible. "

Even the press have been quite nice! "Another key to the Hertha upswing is Marko Grujic. The Serb, loaned for a season by English championship leader Liverpool FC, embodies unremarkable top class. ".

lmred

{Ed001's Note - I haven't seen any of his games, about time he knuckled down though. His problem has always been himself.}

1.) 25 Sep 2018 13:26:27
‘Unremarkable top class’ doesn't sound like the best compliment ever.

31 Jul 2018 00:40:30
Ed001 and for any posters familiar with the academy, we signed a very young lad apparently for 6 figures in 2017 called Emeka Obi from Bury but I haven't seen a peep from him since. He came after some high praise from the Bury manager.

He's not played in our u18 squad since signing, but doesn't appear to have left Liverpool? But he has made a handful of appearances for Wigan's u18 side? Have we not registered him?

Anyone with any knowledge of the situation able to help?

lmred

{Ed001's Note - he is just a kid mate, almost impossible to keep track of at that age.}

1.) 31 Jul 2018 06:24:19
On the This is Anfield site he's listed in the u18's squad for this season.

2.) 31 Jul 2018 10:14:48
This is the guy I asked about 6 months ago. We eventually decided he’s been playing for Wigan u18s whether on loan or permanent.

04 Jun 2018 17:26:58
French publications saying Madrid have an agreement in principle with Sadio Mane to join. Ed002 has said Madrid dropped their interest some time ago. Can we go ahead and assume this can be ignored?

lmred

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of any agreement.}

1.) 04 Jun 2018 17:43:19
God I hope not. Unless it involves us getting Asensio, we hen actually, that might just be epic :)

2.) 04 Jun 2018 18:00:03
I’m going with Ed002 over some dodgy French rag.

{Ed025's Note - good idea FMS..

3.) 04 Jun 2018 18:11:25
Damn it. At this rate our front 3 will be down to a skeleton crew. All we have left now is:

Suarez, Fekir, Dembele, Werner, Fekir, Firmino, Luan, Fekir and Woodburn.

4.) 04 Jun 2018 18:18:55
Lol Mk. You forgot Messi.

5.) 04 Jun 2018 18:18:55
Lol Mk. You forgot Messi.

6.) 04 Jun 2018 18:30:25
I've not seen a Messi confirmation yet. I did see interest in Bale though. Apparently he came into our dressing room and gave Lallana a big kiss (with tongue) . So that is as good as nailed on.

7.) 04 Jun 2018 18:54:42
Luan's a shoe in ;)

8.) 04 Jun 2018 19:14:18
You forgot Arda Turan as well MK - surely he’s nailed on this year (finally) .

9.) 04 Jun 2018 19:41:01
None of that is true.

29 Apr 2018 21:09:52
Rumours that Assistant Buvac will leave the club.

lmred

1.) 29 Apr 2018 21:44:29
And I'm the real Salah.

2.) 29 Apr 2018 23:16:45
I just read it on the Daily Record. I'm not sure how reliable it is but it clearly says that Buvac had some sort of dispute with Klopp. It says that the players were informed this morning. It further states that the two "had a big falling out". Again, I have no idea how reliable this is.

3.) 30 Apr 2018 00:09:10
I doubt it very much. It's all over the internet now, but they are all quoting the same one guy, as the source of the story. A notoriously unreliable guy.

4.) 30 Apr 2018 00:36:42
Could be, tensions and stress must be high at this stage in the season especially with what's left to play for.

I hope not though. Something like this could severely upset mood around the squad.

5.) 30 Apr 2018 00:48:37
Good luck to him 🤝.

6.) 29 Apr 2018 21:46:09
Yep, heard the same on social media. Was just here to post about it.
Ed001 - how reliable is this? I do not want what happened to Rafa happen to Klopp by losing one of his best back room staff.

Krishna.

{Ed001's Note - no idea sorry, I have only just woken up.}

7.) 30 Apr 2018 01:18:43
This better not be true!

8.) 30 Apr 2018 01:25:42
I am sure this is utter rubbish. The person who wrote the story is Duncan Castles, that should be enough for all of us to know it is crap!

9.) 30 Apr 2018 01:40:05
Considering the source, I very much doubt it. Klopp and Buvac go hand in hand. BUy one and you get the other for free.

10.) 30 Apr 2018 05:54:33
Reynard correct me if I am wrong but wasn't castles the one who broke coutinho pitching a fit and refusing to train story and that was rejected by all Liverpool journos early on only to agree with it later, same happened with Mendy injury where Mendy himself refuted the severity of the injury but again castles was correct.

Whatever one thinks of his general fan baiting behavior, he does seem to have excellent sources.

11.) 30 Apr 2018 06:54:24
Just heard it on radio Merseyside this is a big blow.

12.) 30 Apr 2018 07:34:15
Oh my word this is crazy what the hell is going on, klopp has worked with this guy for nearly 20 years he is apparently the one who implements the whole genkepressing strategy too the players, the timing of this is horrible.

13.) 30 Apr 2018 08:35:49
Yes it’s very concerning if Zeljko Buvac has decided to leave. Shades of Rafa and Paco. It was never the same after that. What a bad time go and fall out, if it is true.

14.) 30 Apr 2018 10:20:56
@ common_sense moyes He does seem to occasionally have his finger on the pulse but it is only rarely the case on LFC (except when an agent is trying to cause problems - Castles is always happy to stick the knife in on us! ) . In this case he has run off half-cocked and taken "leave of absence for personal reasons" to mean something not even related. I will not pretend I don't hate him. he is a horrid person and an enemy of the entire City of Liverpool so my comments are obviously tainted by my view as well.

15.) 30 Apr 2018 10:32:04
Disappointed my “good luck” message got only disagrees.

16.) 30 Apr 2018 10:40:03
Reynard to me it looks like a gardening leave, Liverpool trying to make sure that no one rocks the ship days before your biggest cl game in ages. I am speculating but if there were any non footballing reasons he would have been given an official leave of absence with club reporting it or atleast the news would have come from some Liverpool itk like Pearce or Reddy.

About castles, he is a grade a prick, you won't find me disagreeing. Until mourinho signed for us, all his utd related news had innumerable sly digs at us with a healthy dose of trolling.

06 Feb 2018 13:44:25
Don't know if it's been posted but Liverpool has started working with goalkeeping consultant hans leitert. Eds any info on him as a coach.

lmred

{Ed002's Note - I recall Spurs not being impressed and sacking him a few years back.}

1.) 06 Feb 2018 15:17:31
Appointed by Damien Comolli and sacked by Harry Redknapp. Make of that what you will :)

2.) 06 Feb 2018 15:48:46
At least they recognise a problem area and are trying something.

3.) 06 Feb 2018 15:56:40
Typical Liverpool - when they need some fillet steak, they go out and get a Gregg’s pasty.

4.) 06 Feb 2018 16:48:30
At least it’s not tofu.

5.) 06 Feb 2018 18:46:41
Seems like anywhere Commoli goes, becomes a disaster.

6.) 06 Feb 2018 20:20:18
In his defence, he did bring in Suarez.

7.) 06 Feb 2018 21:16:41
Cardiff, even a dead clock is right twice a day. That does not negate the fact that it is STILL a dead clock. Commoli is rank incompetent and bringing in one or two good players, does not disprove that fact.

Appreciate the reply ed002, but it's impossible this day and age to ignore finances even if you wanted to. Net spend, wages, transfer fees are bandied about on Sky Sports every other game, in all the paper headlines, spouted when you listen to any conversation in a pub and they're especially all over social media.

I know you say you don't watch much football or read the headlines etc but it's impossible to avoid. I actually find the clarification on here very useful (though I appreciate you get dogs abuse for it when you do speak about finances)

Perhaps the first time I disagree with ed, but combining the men and women's games would eliminate so many women from being able to make a professional career out of it.

If Serena Williams were on the Men's tour she'd be ranked 100+, she's admitted this herself. The difference is massive, in reaction times, acceleration, speed, strength. The average difference in the mens game between a match winner/ losers serves are only 2/ 3 KMPH. The difference in serve speed between men/ women at the top level is 20/ 30 KMPH and they play three fifth's of the sets.

In games where speed doesn't particularly matter women still struggle. Golf for example - the few elite women that have managed to get on a Men's PGA event haven't succeeded - Annika Sorenstam a superstar at the time, failed at colonial.

Cyborg in the UFC, a known steroid user and perhaps the scariest looking women this side of Ann Wolfe would get decimated by any of the top UFC fighters at her weight (and below) . The same with double Olympian Nicola Adams who I have great admiration for, she's a brilliant athlete, person and fighter but would be a club level boxer in the men's game. Football is not unique in that regard and it is still an athletic game, despite it now being softer.

The separation of the sexes has allowed women to forge their own career, sponsorships and inspire lots of other women. Merging the two would likely get rid of most if not all the women at the top level in football.

lmred

{Ed001's Note - they are all individual sports you are referring to and so absolutely irrelevant to a team game.}

{Ed002's Note - Certainly Liverpool are starting to move in that direction. It will take along time.}

Tyson isn't a top 10 heavyweight, or if he is he's in the bottom half. I work in boxing amongst other things now (mostly with Warren and occasionally with GBP, Haymon and TR, never had the pleasure of Matchroom) .

Tyson was a brilliant fighter for a short period of time and a fascinating man, but his body of work isn't what it should be and that is how fighters are judged over time. Tyson's era was as weak as Holmes but he was more exciting which is why he largely gets a pass. He had fundamental weaknesses that people seem to ignore because he knocked out an old Larry Holmes, Michael Spinks (who has spent the majority of his career two weight classes below) and a decent Berbick.

Tyson was a mid-range hooker that would destroy you if you stayed in the pocket and didn't know how to step further inside or have the movement, footspeed and jab to stay out of the pocket. Holyfield beats him 9 times out of 10 for that reason, Holyfield wasn't a better Heavyweight than Tyson but that sort of fighter Tyson is always going to struggle with. Lennox Lewis the same (who is British and identifies as such Ed001, by his own admission and in conversation with him, was a bullied relentlessly as a child for his British accent in Canada) Lewis gives Tyson trouble no matter which version of Tyson he fights.

There are styles which have exposable flaws, rewatch Forrest destroy Shane Mosley to become the consensus best fighter in the world only to lose twice to the 'caveman' Ricardo Mayorga. Or the late 40's where one of the best defensive fighters to even live lost to roughhouse Sandy Saddler 3 times. There are instances where fighters lose on a bad day like Lewis - Rahman or Ray Robinson - Turpin, the losses to Holyfield especially were not an example of that.

He's a fantastic player whose composure can desert him but gets into great positions and makes great runs. Improved leaps under Guardiola in my opinion. I'd much rather still have him in the team than have that £50m.

And no not anyone does as well as he has in that City side, Pep is willing to sacrifice anyone not good enough. Nolito left a year after he arrived, you have to stay on top of your game to keep your place in that City side.
