Eds, who else is interested in signing Victor Valdes? Is he interested in coming to us?

kingmbc

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of any interested clubs aside, seemingly, from Liverpool at this time. Previously Manchester City, Roma and Monaco looked to him but they have dropped their interest. His other option is the MLS.}

kingmbc

{Ed001's Note - it is not true.}

Hello, what a dismal display last night.
I just want to state my opinion of Sterling, I know he is still young, but I really think he is overrated, don't get me wrong, he is fantastic at running at defenders but his final finish either at goal or pass is horrific. Which in my eyes is the most crucial element. I certainly would take the 'rumoured' £50M. What's your thoughts. Particular Eds002?
Regards. Matt

{Ed002's Note - You need to probably stop thinking about particular sums of money.}

Hi Eds, hope your well?
What's your thoughts on Liverpools wage bills, how do we compare with the 'Top 4' ?
Do we have the funds to offer new contacts for Hendon and Sterling and another 'striker'?

kingmbc

{Ed002's Note - The club has the 5th highest age bill and it is not funds that will be an issue but FFP. Sustained growth over the previous year is allowable. It will be help by some high value departures.}

Afternoon Eds, hope your all well.
Just a question, please excuse my ignorence if it sounds daft. When Liverpool enquired about Ings then loaning back for the rest of the season, this was told it would break premier league rules. What's the difference between that and Totenham and Alli, is it different Rules for FL?

kingmbc

{Ed002's Note - A good question. It is simply that the MK Dons are not in the Premier League.}

1.) Ed, I have read that Liverpool are to try and utilise a 'loophole' in the FA rules to effectively sign Ings on a pre-contract agreement with him remaining at Burnley for the remainder of the season. The report cites Smalling's transfer from Fulham to Utd as an example. Have the rules altered since that transfer? Also if we were to offer a fee as suggested would this not have had to be done in the transfer window?

Cheers

{Ed002's Note - There is no loophole and Liverpool are as dumb as a box of rocks if they think there is. The rules that apply are the rules for this season - not the rules from 5 or 6 years ago.

Ings is out of contract at the end of the season and can join Liverpool with compensation being paid to Burnley for developing the player as a youth. Liverpool can talk to his agent and agree whatever they want before then. They cannot talk to the player without the permission of his club. It is simple.}

2.) Burnley did not develop ings at youth, bournemouth did, eddie howe signed him from bournemouth when he went to manage burnley

{Ed002's Note - Ok - so Burnley are due compensation for the development they have provided the player with.}

3.) The collective box of rocks is the lazy media and sadly a few on here who don't bother to check

4.) Spot on, Marshy!

This is the rule in this season's rule book Liverpool are hoping to exploit.

{Ed002's Note - That is about pre-contracts. Liverpool are not allowed a pre-contract with Ings.

Burnley are not involved from a contractual standpoint Ings he will be out of contract in the summer so any contract between Liverpool and Burnley would be of no consequence at all - as he would not be Burnley's player to transfer. I have explained what can be done and that involves talking with his agent. I truly struggle to understand why people think there is any need to do anything, or to keep suggesting ways to tap a player up, or look for rules that can be abused.

The player has made it clear that he wants the move and Liverpool are interested. Come June 1 they can agree a pre-contract or, if he has been released, the actual contract. There is no rush - it can go ahead then and Liverpool will have the new striker the fans crave.}

In fairness, it's the daily express who seem to believe that rules haven't changed since 2010

{Ed002's Note - Was that the paper that had different £35M strikers nailed on to sign for Liverpool every day in January?}

7.) 04 Feb 2015 16:47:20
Yep, that's the one. Well, one of the 5 or 6 anyway!

Hello Eds, specifically Eds002.

Lots of nonsense about Rogers could be gone soon. Do you think the owners are seriously thinking of this, we massively over achieved last year and it was 'almost' Lord Rogers! Now 11 games in, could be game over. What do you think? Is January a serious option? Or is he backed. ? Regards, Matt

kingmbc

{Ed002's Note - I have explained my view repeatedly Matt. Search on "independent".}

Hi Eds! Do you know exactly what is Luis Suarez release cost?

kingmbc

{Ed002's Note - Yes but that was never going to be paid after the latest incident.}
