Did we just found our Wini replacement in the midfield in Ben Woodburn. I'm impressed with the amount of good balls he played around the opposition box.

Credit where its due the lad has played well tonight.

{Ed0666's Note - remember voronin was Messi like in pre season

2.) 09 Aug 2021 20:55:54
That’s hilarious 666, had forgotten about Voronin 😂
To be fair, Woodburn has had a good game.

{Ed0666's Note - by all accounts even keita looks ok in ore season I test my case. Players are at different levels of fitness it’s folly to judge them till at least a couple of weeks into the season.

3.) 09 Aug 2021 21:21:22
Tell ya what, that young Gordon lad knows how to play. Has eyes in the back of head.

4.) 09 Aug 2021 21:21:57
Sorry Clarkson is the lad.

5.) 09 Aug 2021 21:33:22
Common now 666 - We need woodburn to play well to get himself a move, so we should be bigging him up - and yes he was like prime messi today :P.

{Ed0666's Note - Even if he shines preseason he’ll be a loan or a free transfer. I truly hope he gets a decent move to kickstart his career. The kid deserves to play week in week out. Not Liverpool standard at all.

6.) 09 Aug 2021 21:47:17
Let him go on a free transfer but big sell on clause.

7.) 09 Aug 2021 21:51:57
Agreed Ed - Woodburn, Ojo need to find themselves a home and kickstart their careers.

With the performance in the last few games and results i hope LFC fans will understand the importance of Hendo. I can't wait for him to come back. ED 001 is hendo back for the Atletico game?

crazy horse316

{Ed001's Note - sadly I don't think he will be back for that.}

1.) 04 Mar 2020 08:22:51
Hopefully being at home will help them get back to winning ways.

2.) 04 Mar 2020 08:31:05
Play him anyway, give him crutches.

3.) 04 Mar 2020 08:56:20
AOE, I think Milner could be that important against Athletico, but he needs game time. Surprised he didn't start last night. I would expect him to start on Saturday.

4.) 04 Mar 2020 09:10:28
Totally agree, I thought we looked a little better when he came on. Not much but a little better. The Bournemouth game can’t come quick enough. Hopefully we’ll be back to ourselves again. A great European night in anfield might well reignite our confidence as well. Chelsea were the absolute worst team to face last night. Fair play to them.

5.) 04 Mar 2020 12:03:15
We may be able to do without him against Bournemouth but I think Milner is a must against Atletico. And I hope Klopp plans it that way. He's one of the few who doesn't shirk away from physical play, and he'll take one for the team far more than most. And there will be plenty of physical play and play acting; we all know it.

6.) 04 Mar 2020 16:04:38
I think Hendo has been superb this season but i don't think its as simple as saying these 3 losses have come because he's injured. A Hendo in the team doesn't solve the issues the back 4 are having or our currently goal shy front 3 are having. We lost to Napoli away this season and 3 CL away games last season with Hendo in the team remember. It was said on the weekend that we couldn't blame 1 person for a defeat (Lovren) but yet we are making out that with 1 player those defeats wouldn't have happened. I can't wait for him to come back and i also can't wait for the rest of the lads to find their form and confidence they seem to have lost but i am under no illusion that its a bigger problem than 1 player. Hopefully a good win on sat and next wed and this blip will all be forgotten about.

7.) 04 Mar 2020 18:15:16
He's so important for us. Our captain. He is the best passer in the midfield and he bullies opposition. We need a goal, badly.

8.) 04 Mar 2020 21:33:26
JK23, cos Hendo played in a few games we lost does not decrease his importance to the team. The guy is a monster and a tactical genius on the pitch. He has the brain and the eyes of a future coach and plays like one, IMO.

Hendo sees things before they happen. His anticipation, positioning, passing ability, drive, bravery and leadership are sorely lacking in the team right now even tho the whole team is physically and mentally knackered. Does that mean we would have won the past few games we lost if he played? No. Would we have had a better chance? Probably but that's it as there are no guarantees in sports or even life.

We are in a blip collectively and that is all, IMO. we just need to keep calm, work harder than we have done (as if that is even possible at this point) and play ourselves out of it. Up Da Pool!

19 Feb 2020 15:08:47
Ed001, help me out. Im a very emotional person when it comes to LFC. Im not so worried about the lost we had last night, im more worried if other teams will take a leaf out of AM book and use it towards us in the league and the injury to Hendo. It seams Deja vu to me probably because of 30 years of heartache, that we are so close to the holy grail and now things and now a lesson for every one to know how to defend against us and then not having Hendo on the pitch for us just like the last 2 games in 2014 season. Hendo was pivotal taht season.

crazy horse316

{Ed001's Note - other teams already have, I don't get your point.}

1.) 19 Feb 2020 16:04:28
If we come through this tie, I think last night's loss will stand to us.

A little reminder on hurt is good every now and again.

2.) 19 Feb 2020 16:18:27
All teams do it, Only man city, southampton, leicester and bournemouth didn't and they were our biggest wins. Its all depends on the quality of the players who are asked to perform sitting in low blocks.

3.) 19 Feb 2020 16:25:17
What, teams will look to get a lucky goal after 3 minutes and then sit back for 87 mins hoping that they can hang on. Only any good if you get lucky, which let's be honest AM got lucky with the goal and only offered a threat because we were chasing the game.

4.) 19 Feb 2020 19:20:28
Why anyone would be still worried about the league is beyond me, all about the double or treble now!

5.) 19 Feb 2020 20:25:40
Ok then.

6.) 19 Feb 2020 20:38:11
OP, you are overreacting here and feeding into the doom and gloom from the rival fans and the media over-hype about the loss. 2014? Really? Come on, man. AM have been playing that way for since Simeone walked in the door 7 yrs ago. They are the best in Europe at what you watched last night. They have very good attacking players. Always have yet Simeone make them do all of that.

They got lucky with the goal but they did the job and frustrated us to the point that we got ourselves wound up and lost concentration cos we started pressing way too much and got nothing for it. That can happen cos you may not have noticed, our boys may be super human BUT they are first off, human beings. Losing is part of sport.

The league is in the bag so why you are worried about that, I have no idea. AM have the lead at the break 1-0. The seond half will be in our house. We'll see what happens.

7.) 19 Feb 2020 20:48:23
It was a lucky break for their goal and for the first time in a long time we failed to grab a goal, it happens! Klopp hasn’t lost a two legged European tie with us, I think we should trust him and the effect of Anfield.

8.) 19 Feb 2020 22:22:43
Defo wyred, the power of anfield cannot be easily overlooked. It'll be massive and quite hostile I reckon towards the cheating athletic players. The only worry is if they score imo I'm pretty sure we can get a couple of goals.

9.) 19 Feb 2020 23:41:23
OP I wouldn't worry about other teams trying to copy Atletico just about everybody we play plays a low block against us. Atletico got jammy last night with the early goal and one of the weakest referees I've ever seen .

They'll come to Anfield and try and nick a 0-0 and I'm sure we'll take care of them at home possibly after extra time . Shaping up for another classic European night . Klopp often talks about getting angry and using it, this is probably the 1st match to trigger anger this season, we'll be up for them in the return I'm sure .

Hi Eds or fellow reds, could someone please please tell me what does Sturridge brings to the team. He is on a very high salary can't give his all for 90 min, tries absurd shots on goal instead of passing, slows down the attack and is scared of tackles. I think any half decent striker will do more than Sturridge and will be on 1/ 3 of his salary.
Im sorry about the rant but feel like Origi would do a better job than him if given more chances.

crazy horse316

1.) 06 Dec 2018 14:42:57
Chelsea would have beaten us if it wasn't for sturridge. His wages are his wages and the club will address that soon. But until then, I think it's nothing to give out about. Particularly in the final year of contract.

2.) 06 Dec 2018 15:06:36
Davey other than the Chelsea goal anything quite significant done by Sturridge? . I know wages are not paid by my money, but the spot he takes on the squad could go to someone who is better than him or atleast more reliable than him in starting few games and coming of the bench in others.
We don't need passengers in this squad and i think we need people who can come in the last 15-20 and change the game if needed.

3.) 06 Dec 2018 15:34:26
I think you need to balance the view on Sturridge and dwell far less on only the negative. For every shot on goal from an impossible angle (while Origi was waiting for a ball to come on to his head in front of goal) there is the swift back heel pass he made to Shaqiri which could have easily ended up with a goal if Shaqiri had been awake.

I think the man is trying to make a transition in his style of play and becoming more of a team player; but it probably takes time. He referred to this in an interview after his West Ham stay. Yes, he won us the game against Chelsea, but sorry, that's what the fat paycheck is for.

4.) 06 Dec 2018 16:04:26
I tnk as a back up striker when fit sturridge is the best in league. own up this is what happens at big clubs. u people r ok wid psg manc paying over the odds for neymar mbappe gabriel jesus but when its one of our own all u do is whine.

5.) 06 Dec 2018 16:23:45
I just seen sturridge in the bookies. Oh no you didn't!
Oh yes I did!

6.) 06 Dec 2018 16:38:45
1969 he did not win us the Chelsea game. Get your facts right. If we need to win the league, we need players who can come and make an impact regularly. Yes he is changing his style and credit where its due but any other striker will do what he is doing and may be even better, so let's give a younster a chance at least they won't shy away from a tackle.

7.) 06 Dec 2018 17:04:29
Im not hearing any of this. He’s a brilliant option for us to hve from the bench and start the odd game. We are lucky it worked out so that he's fitter this season and willing to do the bench role. 5 goals in all comp isn't so bad when you aren't regularly starting.

He had decent shots against everton and burnely too.

8.) 06 Dec 2018 17:12:15
Correction - Sturridge tied up the game for us against Chelsea.

9.) 06 Dec 2018 18:21:58
Why the need for us to slam one of our own when things are going so well?

10.) 06 Dec 2018 18:40:00
How about setting up the third goal against Burnley. Sturridge is a class act with or without pace. He played some masterful little flicks yesterday. Great player to have in the squad.

11.) 06 Dec 2018 19:07:35
Alison to Stud, Stud to Mo and Mo to Shaq. Sounds like a team goal to me. fare point though but I really think the guy is trying but I can see where you coming from.

12.) 06 Dec 2018 19:07:59
Crazy, if you are asking Studge to start banging in goals for fun then you will be waiting for a long time. I have accepted Studge now for who and what he is. He can be frustrating at times and so for Mane, Salah, Bobbie and whoever else. What he is now, is a good option to bring on from the bench who can help us with his unpredictability.

Studge may have lost his pace BUT not his innate ability to find the net, fire a rocket off that left foot with no backlift or play a killer pass. Maybe you should start accepting him as well instead of the constant moaning and nitpicking on what he is not doing (some of which he no longer can do) instead of looking at the bigger picture.

What have the Romans ever done for us?

hi ed 001 i was qondering what do you thing of Emyln Hughes aka crazy horse as a player. do you think he is a legend for Lfc. I have never watched him play but every time i read about Liverpool history his name is always there. i personnaly feel that he along witha few other Shankly had is the base of Shankly and to an extent Liverpool history.
if you want you can add him to the Legends list too
thank you.

crazy horse316

{Ed001's Note - I have not seen Emlyn play, but he definitely figures as a legend of the club. He was a big part of the Shankly era and deserves inclusion without doubt.

I have added him to the list.}

1.) 02 Nov 2017 14:25:04
I watched Emlyn Hughes play many times, he was a huge player for Liverpool, so much heart, hated getting beat, always going forward, I would really want him in this side, truly a great player .

2.) 02 Nov 2017 17:10:20

3.) 02 Nov 2017 17:18:50

Yes he has drifted from out if our financial structure. We will look for someone around the 30-40 mil mark. 90-100 is way too much for us.

Every 3 months time someone will spoil all the fin by being rude to the Ed's. If u are offended by everything he has to say about LFC fans stop reading it, don't **** this up for the other fans. Every couple of months this happens. rant over
Love you Ed's.

crazy horse316

{Ed0666's Note - Eds 002 says it the way it is. If people can’t handle the truth. When he informed us about Liverpool aging contacted Zielenskis representatives I didn’t like it but I didn’t think to abuse him. These idiots bite the hands that feed them then when they don’t get fed anymore they’ll bitch some more.

I have this feeling that if Adama is brought by Kloop it won't be for a forward position rather a replacement for Ox. When Ox was linked we all felt the same- ineffective as a winger, few goals and assist but then Kloop started to play him as a AM or a box to box and you could see his drive, energy and speed come to evidence. I think that what Kloop wants Adama for and he can score against city.

Not a better player than Stevie but a better leader and captain. It will be every hard to replace Henderson the captain, he is surely a role model for all young player.

I personally felt that we started the game slow, too many stray passes. We did not put together 10 passes for the entire first half and that gave them the confidence to except some pressure. We looked lethargic for the first half and Jota was a bit missing. Games like these are not good for my health, gives me too much anxiety and boils my blood. I don't need LFC to do that as I have my family to frustrate me.

I like him to and I agree with the part that if he had a streak in him or was more determined to succeed he would be playing almost regularly. I think for the sake of both the player and club he should move on. I would like to have a player who we can rely on more frequently something like how Jota is for us. Someone a bit younger, hungry and won't mind if he is a bit raw and can eventually replace Bobby or take Jota's place, someone who can offer something different than the one who started yesterday. I don't think we can rely on Origi for 10-15 games for us as an starter.
