any truth to the Lemar links?

cb2017

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of Liverpool showing any interest - this would I assume be a Pipco replacement?}

1.) 31 Jul 2017 10:48:10
Lemar the singer from the late 90s? I think he would make an excelllent match day anouncer.

2.) 31 Jul 2017 10:54:55
Ed your starting to convince me Pipco is on his way😂.

3.) 31 Jul 2017 10:58:44
If there's any justice in the world then coutinho stays and lemar just sticks to singing.

4.) 31 Jul 2017 11:25:35
Well played ash!

5.) 31 Jul 2017 11:28:03
Probably Mark Lemar, the nineteen fifties bin man.

6.) 31 Jul 2017 13:03:54
Right about now I'm 50/ 50.

7.) 31 Jul 2017 14:47:13
Just read silly article that claims because city have done so much business they should win the league. What rubbish. Signing 7/ 8 players means your team is seriously disrupted and often it takes a while to gel together.
Okay we missed out on kieta but I think vvd will happen and we have a solid left back HIGHLY promising forward and amazing winger/ forward in salah. It is the same team that looked like winning the league before injuries struck.
I for one am pleased we haven't had a complete overhaul. Our best business will be keeping Phil. Then all we have to do is win the UCL and he will stay!

8.) 01 Aug 2017 00:03:23
I got ripped on here a month or so ago for suggesting coutinio will feature up front this season and so far I think that is exactly where he has played. Just thought I'd mention. Not saying he wouldn't be class in midfield, he would. But I want his skill at the business end of the field. Let's face it, he'd be a good RB!

11 Jun 2017 15:24:47
read that we're going for Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, any truth to this?

cb2017

{Ed001's Note - I wish he looks to be top class.}

1.) 11 Jun 2017 16:32:48
Lazio would want lots of money for him though. However, they might not want to sell should Biglia moves.

2.) 11 Jun 2017 16:46:16
The likes of Man Utd and Arsenal were priced out of a move for Savic. What makes you think we have even an inkling of chance especially after the player just signed a new contract?

3.) 11 Jun 2017 17:56:31
The likes of Man City and Chelsea were 'priced out' of a move for VVD. It's not just about how much money a club has, rather how much they're willing to spend on a particular player. (If we're willing to pay crazy money, when others are not, then we have a chance! )

4.) 12 Jun 2017 02:17:55
If he's as good as eds says he is then why not overspend
The likes of Chelsea city Utd have all been there done that to build their squads. We need to catch up somehow. Then once we have a strong set of players and a hopefully consistently challenge for top 4. we can attract some of the best.

5.) 12 Jun 2017 10:23:44
yeah really we need to sought out the defence.

11 Jun 2017 10:20:51
Hearing Salah will be announced after international break. Any truth to this?

cb2017

1.) 11 Jun 2017 10:28:39
I hope so.

2.) 12 Jun 2017 22:05:39
I hope this just gets done and dusted because the long this deal will take it'll delay other deals as well. Salah or Martins, we need to get the deal done.

14 Aug 2017 13:14:15
just seen us linked with Seri. any truth to it eds?

cb2017

{Ed002's Note - Twitter?}

1.) 14 Aug 2017 14:20:43
no the guardian and other football sites.

2.) 14 Aug 2017 13:45:29
It's in the Guardian.

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of any approach to Nice by Liverpool but will check. There is interest from other sides in him and with Keita supposedly house hunting it would be rather a knee jerk reaction if they have approached Nice - who would be unlikely to want to sell.}

22 Jul 2017 07:44:30
good lord to all the people saying you feel sick at how Klopp made VVD do what he did. VVD would've left anyways and if whatever klopp did will make him come to us then more power to Klopp. get to the top however you can.

cb2017

{Ed002's Note - You think it good that the club also screwed up the career of a 12 year old boy leaving his parents in debt? Would you be proud of a points deduction, where it with pride? How about a transfer ban? Who cares we is Liverpool. You celebrate failure and you celebrate unprofessionalism by the club (who by the way are trying to distance themselves from a couple of other matters that are now bubbling under). The clown like persona is slipping as his arrogance is now being seen in his hypocrisy. To deliberately damage a professional player to the point where his position becomes untenable is completely unacceptable. If the Premier League are fit for purpose they will now have little option but to investigate this matter - something they have been avoiding - and take appropriate action. We are all getting sick of the cretins like you and your "get to the top however you can" attitude. It seems that the club does have the fans that it deserves.}

1.) 22 Jul 2017 08:23:36
Eds is right your not looking at the bigger picture cb.

2.) 22 Jul 2017 08:37:36
Ed002 this deeply saddens me that we as such a so called family club would place a family in debt through our underhand tactics. i know a little of the matter but not the full facts and if it has done to death then my apologies.
But if not could you explain what exactly conspired and how we have destroyed this family financially please?
Also I find it astonishing that a club as great as ours, built on passion and history could not now after realising what we have done not rectified the matter financially at least.

{Ed002's Note - This has been covered and relates to the transfer ban Liverpool is already serving and a pending court case in respect to a child from Stoke. You should also be able to search the internet and find a great deal of coverage. Liverpool falsified legal paperwork, lied to the investigation, tried to have the boy's parents lie to the investigation. There is a pending court case with a cliched smoking gun or two ready to be aired.

And I could not agree more, that the club whose history is very honorable has fallen a very long way.}

3.) 22 Jul 2017 08:46:55
Sorry ed excuse my stupidity but when you say his position is untenable what do you mean?

{Ed002's Note - His mind is not on his job at Southampton who are now having to fight to try and persuade him to focus on them. They know that there is interest from two other sides now but they really don't want to sell - but they will likely have to.}

4.) 22 Jul 2017 09:22:54
Wow ed002,thank you for the detailed reply, I will most certainly read up further on it.
It's shocking that a club like ours where pride, decency honour should be fundamental, would act in this way. it seems by recent actions we are sacrificing our principles to attain results.
Not good at all.

{Ed002's Note - You are absolutely right. They need to very quickly get back on track.}

5.) 22 Jul 2017 09:35:13
Just to reinforce what ed002 says about this "get to the top at all costs" attitude.
You don't get to the top by behaving like this. What goes around comes around and LFC is storing up some pretty bad karma. Personally I don't just blame Klopp, I blame the governance of the club also.
To behave like the club has behaved in recent years just smacks of desperation. It is a clear sign of an inferiority complex and weakness which opponents will be celebrating.
We need to clean up our act as a club. I don't think the people running the club are giving out that message effectively enough.

6.) 22 Jul 2017 09:51:32
Agreed Liverpool's behavior where transfers are concerned is very poor and unprofessional. Yes it's morally wrong, but from even a business point of view it's hurting the club. However I have a very talented footballing nephew and I cannot begin to tell you how badly ALL the clubs interested in signing him have behaved, here and on the continent. So whilst this in no way makes Liverpool and Klopp's behavior excusable, it shows clubs with more money, clout and appeal behave despicably to get what they want, so when you throw our desperation in to join them at the top table in, I'm not surprised we behave like we do. Have to say, Spurs aside in this, they were class.

7.) 22 Jul 2017 10:05:39
Might have missed something here but was VVD not looking to leave after the Southampton/ Fonte/ West ham thing anyway? Surely we were just getting a march on our rivals for his signature. Think his desire to leave runs deeper than Liverpool's interest.

{Ed002's Note - You want me to explain it yet again?}

8.) 22 Jul 2017 10:15:47
Doom - if he wanted to leave, he would put in a transfer request. Simple as that.
Even if he had put in a transfer request, LFC should talk to Saints before they brief the press.

There is no excuse no matter which way you cut it.

9.) 22 Jul 2017 10:19:43
No I'm just saying we are not wholly to blame for VVD wanting to leave. Southampton have a history of complaining about clubs approaching their players and putting up a tough stance, though given our purchase history with them we should have approached it in a more professional manner.

{Ed002's Note - You really don't get it at all. It is not the fault of Southampton that Liverpool and Klopp have behaved in an illegal and reprehensible manner. Scratching away blaming others and them in desparation makes you an embarrassment. Liverpool football club and Klopp are entirely responsible for the damage they have done to a professional footballer who is contracted to another club.}

16 Jul 2017 14:56:11
hi eds. if we got keita, how would we pay for him? in two tranches or multi-payments/ add-ons.

cb2017

{Ed002's Note - I really don't want to talk about the finances.}

1.) 16 Jul 2017 16:44:29
Luncheon vouchers.

2.) 17 Jul 2017 07:30:37
Nectar points.

02 Jul 2017 16:10:47
[Amadou Makadji, Guinea based journo] Klopp spoke with Keita on Saturday and Liverpool will submit an offer this evening. Klopp wants him whatever the cost.

cb2017

1.) 02 Jul 2017 16:22:47
So we've tapped the player up?

2.) 02 Jul 2017 16:24:37
You cannot speak to the player! Am I wrong here? Did RBL give us the permission to speak to the player?

3.) 02 Jul 2017 16:30:44
You can speak to the player if his club gives permission. Although I don't know if that's the case here or not.

{Ed002's Note - RBL has said the player is not for sale - therefore it would take the acceptance of an offer. There should be no surprise in this. Noting he also spoke to Brandt and van Dijk.}

4.) 02 Jul 2017 16:58:17
Klipperty is a very sociable guy 😁.

5.) 02 Jul 2017 17:07:05
Klopp sure does love his Blackpool dates.

6.) 02 Jul 2017 17:08:46
Apology by the end of the week then?

7.) 02 Jul 2017 17:28:04
Or maybe the Guinea based journo just made it all up.

8.) 02 Jul 2017 17:49:38
Doesn't matter as long as he signs. All clubs do this.

9.) 02 Jul 2017 17:54:55
I wish Klopp would be like every other manager in world football and not speak to the player before getting permission. What an awful awful man.

10.) 02 Jul 2017 18:21:37
Isn't calling him an "awful awful man" going a bit overboard without knowing him personally?

11.) 02 Jul 2017 19:45:00
Sarcasm reet.

12.) 02 Jul 2017 20:11:00
It's all rumours and heresay with no evidence of any wrongdoing.

13.) 03 Jul 2017 01:24:33
Klopp has spoken to the player but we have not spoken to his club RBL yet!? I don't like the sound of this again, unless something has changed ed? And we have approached his club.

14.) 03 Jul 2017 01:25:17
Sounds like wrong doing again? We can't have spoke to the player before the club?
