Hi edd 002
You answer a question on here about begovic not being interested in a move to Liverpool some time ago.
Was this because he thought man united were going to come in for him, about 2 or 3 seasons ago.
Cheers.

blackbob

{Ed002's Note - I really don't know what his reasons were at the time but he had at one time said he wanted to join Liverpool (at a time when Liverpool were not interested in him) and then later when the club did show an interest he was not interested.}

Begovic would be a good option for LFC. If the price is 10 million GBP or less, i would be shocked if the club did not make an approach to Chelsea this summer.

2.) 07 Feb 2016 14:24:13
I struggle to work out why Begovic went to Chelsea when it was obvious he was going to be second choice. I know he's had games but that's because of the Courtois injury rather than anything else. A 'lazy' move by the player in my opinion.

3.) 07 Feb 2016 16:21:33
errrr could it have something to do with money?

4.) 07 Feb 2016 17:28:03
If that really was the only reason then I'd rather he stayed sat on the bench at Chelsea. Perhaps I'm an old romantic but where's his ambition?

{Ed002's Note - It isn't and he will likely be moving on in the summer. Chelsea made offers for replacements in January.}

5.) 07 Feb 2016 17:35:59
I'd rather we didn't buy him as he's not really that good a keeper and frankly there are better available out there, considering we are stuck with Mignolet until the summer we have plenty of time to find a good keeper and a bench warmer is the last place I would be looking.

6.) 07 Feb 2016 17:40:03
Good to hear that then Ed002 - was he made some promises about playing time then? It always felt like an odd move to me.

{Ed002's Note - No, he wasn't made any promises.}

A big thank you to all the eds for making this site so compulsive, I must check it numerous times throughout the day, whether it's transfer time or not.
Just a quick question.
I know it's very early days, but Joe Gomez's natural position is a centre back.
Is there any immediate plans for Klopp to play him there as we didn't get VVD?
I thought he was brilliant against an albeit poor Arsenal side.
Would like to see TAA, GOMEZ, MATIP, ROBERTSON as our back four.

blackbob

{Ed001's Note - he is a back up for there mate. He is (injuries and form depending) expected to play there in cup matches and provide injury cover there for the rest of the games. And thank you.}

Hi edds,
Reading on lfc website yesterday that klopp was going to monitor James Maddison up till the summer.
Looks a great player, lovely touch and vision, just the kind we need to open up defenses.
The article has since been taken down obviously due to the sale to Norwich City.
Why do we mention someone we are interested in and then some other club come in and buy him.
Is this another one that's got away. the transfer committee should be disbanded. I think klopp is the only one with a footballing brain that's on it. if he's on it!
I know he's gone to Norwich, but what are your thoughts. thanks.

blackbob

{Ed002's Note - Firstly, the FA will certainly have something to say if Liverpool are putting such things on the club web site - charges could well come if what you are saying is true.

Secondly, I continue to be stunned by the crass stupidity of some of the fans who think that the transfer committee should be "disbanded" (albeit offering the usual excuse for Klipperty) because Liverpool did not buy some kid from Coventry.

Add him to the list of players Liverpool have missed out on. And add Jerome Binnom-Williams at the same time - Leyton Orient snapped him up.}

I assume this would have been on the media watch pages rather than an actual LFC sanctioned story.

There's only one manager we should be considering.He's beaten the best in Europe and his own league.Diego Simeone.Buy him out of his contract, no matter if it costs the same as a top class player.Tempt him with the history of the club, bonuses, New owners from the gulf(maybe).Just get him please.This man is the new Jose Mourinho.Only success will follow.

Why would he come to us? The arrogance of our fans is becoming ridiculous. We are no longer considered anything special by anyone other than a few with romantic notions of bringing back the good old days. The direct reason for our current predicament goes back to Hicks and Gillette. They ruined us when they failed to build a new stadium. and thereby Moores and his family should be tarred and feathered out of Liverpool for selling to the wrong men because of their own greed and endangering the Liverpool brand.

2.) 20 Apr 2015 10:23:30
Or maybe we could respect Athletico as a club and not rip their manager from them because we're in a pickle?

If, indeed we get a new manager at whatever point in time, let's hope it's because of availability, and without having to ruin another club in the process.

{Ed002's Note - Simeone is not now leaving Atletico this summer - a move to Liverpool won't happen.}

3.) 20 Apr 2015 10:53:26
Ed02,

I didn't think he would tbh. We're not exactly the tantalising proposition people seem to think.

My post was aimed at having a bit of respect for other clubs.

{Ed002's Note - I was taking the chance to answer the first post Jimmy.}

4.) 20 Apr 2015 11:59:55
Ed02,

Ah, sorry, apologies.

{Ed002's Note - No problem at all Jimmy - no need to apologise.}

im sorry,but i don't think manager of lfc would be high on klopps bucket list,there is no doubting his ability,and he has achieved fantastic success but he has been swimming against the tide at dortmund for various reasons for several years now,he is hardly going to move to a club who have a similar financial ethos/problems,he wants/deserves his chance of glory by having a crack at the big boys while on a fairer/more equal footing whilst also retaining his best players every transfer window,i may be wrong but i also don't expect klopp to move to a club owned by billionaire sheiks/russian oil tycoons either,i think klopp and has become so disenchanted at dortmund he has taken a gamble by coming out openly, i feel he knows where he would like to be next season and is hoping to force the issue with a few chairmen/chief executives,he may actually wait 1 year if he gets a cast iron promise/pre contract sort of thing they have nowadays

remember this moment. its should have been to strengthen the squad, lift the the players and the fans to believe we could challenge for the title.i wonder what mr suarez will think of this . strengthen the squad and we could've been top four.now I hope we get top four, impossible to think of us getting any higher . I'm afraid we may be seeing the last 5 months of luis.just remember this moment.
