Was thinking today, do you think we will ever see a player/ manager in the top flight league again and if not, why not? We were blessed to have had King Kenny who won us the double in that role. Has football changed that much were chairman would see it as a risk to far?

It has happened hasn't it? Didn't gary monk play for Cardiff? Yeah I could see it happening per has. If team have a strong strong reason for choosing a player to manage. Life of a football manager requires so much more media work it would probably be too much for a player to handle. It has happened in other big league in Europe though, why not here.

Garry Monk and Leon Britton both did it. Ironically both for Swansea, not Cardiff!
Am I right in thinking Giggs, Friedel and Sherringham all had player coaching roles shortly before they retired? Could be wrong on those ones though. Just got it in the back of my mind.

So proud of the team and both sets of fans tonight. I was just looking at some stats and considering the injuries we have had and the inconsistent league form, I think we have had a decent season. League cup final, uafa semi (poss final/ win) and a sneaky chance of top 4. We will have played 62 games (hopefully 63) by the end of the season so all in all think we have done good. Time for another beer.

RE LOAN SYSTEM
The whole loan system has been bugging me now for a while, especially for the "big clubs" Let me try to explain. Clubs send players out on loan "to get regular first team football" with a view to coming back a better more experienced player, however what it actually means is the club saying we don't want you any more, go and put yourself in the shop window. Has there been any recent player at LFC that has been loaned out and returned and gone on to make a career at the club? can't think of many! From the players point of view do you think they know this or they genuinely believe they will go out on loan, play well and come back to play for us?
