Hey Eds

Di Marzio is reporting we are going after Emerson Palmieri from Roma who is a left back. It says we are looking to sign him and send him back on loan or make an agreement for him to come next year.
You heard anything about this or even have you heard of the player and do you rate him? Never heard of him before so was wondering.

{Ed001's Note - no mate sorry, nothing. Italian football is not really my strongpoint.}

15 Jul 2015 18:40:09
Its being reported that Villa and Manchester United have agreed a fee for Benteke just now. Any truth Ed? I know you said earlier that Machester United interest in a striker is elsewhere - not Benteke

{Ed002's Note - Well if that is what is being reported I am surprised. But at least it means no more repeated questions about strikers for me.}

1.) 15 Jul 2015 18:48:30
Wouldn't the questions about strikers intensify Ed2, as I don't see us not buying one and it had come to be accepted that would be Benteke?

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool are not showing interest in any one else - and certainly don't have the money for the likes of Lacazette etc.. And there are no shortage of strikes/forwards at the club already.}

2.) 15 Jul 2015 19:11:14
Were has it been reported they have agreed a fee for him?

3.) 15 Jul 2015 19:17:55
where has this been reported at ?

4.) 15 Jul 2015 19:29:05
He is more suited to their direct play though so maybe

5.) 15 Jul 2015 19:36:19
Ed. Appreciate what youve said on the situation mate but anyway you can find out if Utd ate in for Benteke please? The situation could of changed?

{Ed002's Note - I have answered that already.}

6.) 15 Jul 2015 19:53:16
Not true .lies ,even on sky sports there rumour wasn't true that it's more cavaliers and Robert lewondaski.

7.) 15 Jul 2015 20:00:14
Metro has reported most other outlets are just reporting interest

8.) 15 Jul 2015 20:02:06
utd are not in for benteke and aston villa are desperate for a sale,sherwood has came out twice in the last two days,firstly that lfc have too many strickers and then today saying if anybody offers the buy out clause he would probably go ?starting to get desperate as they have had no bids.if villa rated lambert at 5 million in jan, why don't lfc offer 27.50 mil + lambert.1 in and 1 out just my opinion.

9.) 15 Jul 2015 20:06:48
Ok mate no problem. I see you said he isn't even there second or third choice target. that's good enough for me Ed. Cheers.

10.) 15 Jul 2015 20:18:05
United are not in for benteke.it will drag on for a while yet whilst Liverpool find the money villa want.they will sell when their ready

03 Jul 2015 22:58:50
Screwed up my last post just there Ed, this was meant to be on it as well
Liverpool hoping to sign Allan Rodrigues de Souza, an 18 year old midfielder, for £500,000 from Brazilian club Internacional.

1.) 04 Jul 2015 06:56:38
from Brazil? wouldn't work permit be an issue?

2.) 04 Jul 2015 08:13:20
There has been some sort of change in rules so it is seemingly easier. Chelsea and Man Utd have been actively seeking to buy plenty of these "wonderkids".

3.) 04 Jul 2015 10:49:17
ah, didn't know of that AG. any links about the changes? or any keyword i can search on here to find out about it?

30 Jun 2015 14:53:49
Another rumour for ye. Apparently we are in talks with a player called Ludwig Augustinsson. don't know anything about him but apparently he is a Dutch fullback

1.) 30 Jun 2015 15:23:25
He's Swedish and Ed002 has already suggested that he won't be moving to at all this summer, especially to England.

2.) 30 Jun 2015 15:23:50
Augustinsson is swedish and plays for fc copenhagen and the Swedish U21 team. (Plays the final in U21 championship tonight against Portugal.)

3.) 30 Jun 2015 15:32:45
swedish

4.) 30 Jun 2015 15:34:21
Is he not a swedish under21 forward

5.) 30 Jun 2015 19:06:52
He's a left back - competition for Moreno.

6.) 30 Jun 2015 19:48:57
He's a keeper.

7.) 01 Jul 2015 15:37:27
DaveyBootle.he will be when BR had finished with him. LOLZ.

29 Jun 2015 22:53:51
Apparently we are about to announce Sean O'Driscoll as our new assisstant manager. Yep me too I have never heard of him but appartently his last management role at club level saw him sacked by Bristol Ciy

{Ed001's Note - he performed miracles at Donnie Rovers and I said back then if we were going to take a chance we should get him on board. I am beginning to wonder if FSG are trawling the archives with Firmino and him joining us.....}

1.) 29 Jun 2015 23:09:13
Higuain and Medel next for you ed001. Lol

{Ed001's Note - depends on how far back they trawl. Could be Keisuke Honda, or they will be dragging some long retired player back into the game from when we first started the site!}

2.) 29 Jun 2015 23:17:49
I swear eds I was thinking the same thing as I read this there literally copying what you said so skrtel should be gone soon too, he'll ya. You guys should be in the board

{Ed001's Note - I am always available to the club if they need me!}

3.) 29 Jun 2015 23:25:24
I remember back in the day on here ED1 talking about O Driscoll, great shout mate

{Ed007's Note - Don't encourage him.}

4.) 30 Jun 2015 01:11:57
It's Donny 😇

5.) 30 Jun 2015 01:33:17
The most important question ed01, is wether he is a good/excellent coach instead of a yes man like pascoe or the token scouse in mike marsh.

{Ed001's Note - he is a very good coach first and foremost.}

6.) 30 Jun 2015 01:46:07
I don't understand how people are happy with this appointment. we should be getting experienced coaches, who have actually achieved something in the game. looks like another Yes man who will back up BR. can't imagine him having any impact on the players. very poor decision, and shows the mediocre standards LFC fans are accustom too under FSG

{Ed001's Note - you have no idea if you do not think he is an experienced coach!}

7.) 30 Jun 2015 02:06:35
Reading the Echo BR was quoted into saying something. looks like he is back from holidays and gag order removed.

8.) 30 Jun 2015 02:08:35
haha you make me laugh english managers and coaches are pesh full stop untill we start producing players like brazil and spain. then we can call our coaches and mangers something special we got no flair or technical abilities that's a fact our coaches makes us defend and pass backwards and you call this good lol Bournemouth England 19 August 2000 10 September 2006 326 118 98 110 36.20
Doncaster Rovers England 8 September 2006 23 September 2011 268 97 72 99 36.19
Crawley Town England 16 May 2012 19 July 2012 0 0 0 0 —
Nottingham Forest England 19 July 2012 26 December 2012 26 10 9 7 38.46
Bristol City England 14 January 2013 28 November 2013 44 11 13 20 25.00
England U19 England 4 September 2014 Present 7 6 0 1 85.71
Total 671 242 192 237 36.07
wow look at the ratios we are going backwards getting sky betchampion ship and sky bet 1/2 coaches we need spanish and brazilian coaches from u6s upto u18 to bring us flair and technical ablities

{Ed001's Note - stats are for those with no understanding to quote. Doncaster had the lowest budget in the division yet he kept them up for years through good coaching. I suppose you think Dario Gradi is a crap coach? You have absolutely no idea.}

9.) 30 Jun 2015 02:27:29
Hell if we're going back in the archives I still want ken aguero, cracking player, loves his crisps. ;)

10.) 30 Jun 2015 06:00:53
Any chance we go in for Ronaldo then? Wasn't he under consideration at one point!! ;)

{Ed001's Note - the fat one....}

11.) 30 Jun 2015 07:21:00
Ah good ol' Seany! :) Former Irish international, long been respected as a coach, bags of experience and excellent working with young players, which is why he got England U19 job. Must admit i'm surprised by this news this morning, but pleasently. Good luck to him. :)

12.) 30 Jun 2015 07:22:52
FSG will be after Ken Aguero next if they keep following the sight

13.) 30 Jun 2015 07:45:01
@ ksbhogal. That is a really dumb and groundless assumption and just shows what a mediocre football fan you are.

@ dannycad2. It strikes me that you're about 12 years old and have played a bit of Championship (Football) Manager. Just because he doesn't have a nice tan doesn't mean he's not a good coach.

14.) 30 Jun 2015 10:44:14
Ed001 mention Messi and then we shall all sit back with a big smile 😉

{Ed001's Note - the only problem with us signing Messi is I would never hear the end of it from Ed007! I have spent so long complaining about Messi's illegal (in sporting terms) usage of HGH that I would never live it down if he played for us. Mind, if he came and won us the league, I would gladly put up with it!}

15.) 30 Jun 2015 10:52:47
Dario Grady now that's a coach we should have brought in yrs ago performed miracles at crewe an knew a thing or 2 about bringing youth through, the club bringing in Sean o'driscoll is the most positive coaching move we've made since the jaffa took over

16.) 30 Jun 2015 11:09:47
Monchi in as DoF next Ed1?!

{Ed001's Note - that would be nice, shame it won't happen.}

17.) 30 Jun 2015 11:20:30
Haha, but does taking it as a child count? At least I was under the assumption it was during his childhood/teen years? Obviously once you turn professional I'd assume it's deemed illegal.
Side note - This is only the second time I've seen Ed007 comment. Which page/s does he/she usually frequent?

{Ed001's Note - if it was needed to live a healthy life, then fine, but he didn't need to take it for that, it was taken to improve his level of athletic performance. Ed007 tends to be kept in a box at the side of the sites to be let out when we are desperate for cover. Though most people know it as the Celtic site....}

18.) 30 Jun 2015 12:40:36
I have no idea???? He's experienced with DONCASTER. when did they last qualify for the CL?? What u and most of the people on here don't understand is the players need someone who has actually won something to look up too. like the old boot room, we had the chance to go get an amazing Assistant like Pako etc, and BR gets this pile of crap. We also needed someone to actually organise the defence, this guys teams let in more goals then we do. no hope and just like to add, can't see BR lasting too long, mediocre manager who got lucky having Louis Suarez in his team

{Ed001's Note - so Paisley, who was the assistant to Shankly, must have been useless as he had won nothing before taking the role. Thankfully you are here to tell the club the error of its ways or we could have ended up in real trouble. As for pile of crap, the only pile of crap is the imbecile judging him without knowing a damn thing about him. You are truly ignorant and yet you still post abuse. You have no constructive criticism, just idiotic notions about running a football club based on complete idiocy. Embarrassing.}

19.) 30 Jun 2015 13:32:42
Ed001. don't u dare even bring Paisley up. how can you even compare the two??? You really must be an imbecile.
1) Paisley had retired as a footballer, and joined the Boot Room straight after
2) Paisley was 35 when he joined as a physio, and 40 when he became Assistant, not 57 and been sacked by numerous clubs before being Assistant Manager, with a very poor club record.
Your lack of football knowledge is surprising, and the way you pick facts and twist them to suit your argument is a disgrace. your a typical bully who tries to belittle any poster who doesn't follow what you say.
and just to finish, every statement you made above was simply a reflection on yourself, as every comment was baseless. looks like you're the Moron

{Ed001's Note - bye bye, don't bother coming back until you know something about O'Driscoll and won't make such a complete idiot of yourself. People like you don't deserve to have a football team, you only want to abuse every one who is a part of it. Then you have the cheek to call someone else a bully after posting abuse of a nice man who has just taken a role at the club you pretend to care about. Utter and complete moron is what you are. Go find another place to infect with your idiocy.}

20.) 30 Jun 2015 13:36:46
Well said Ed001. These are exactly the kind of 'fans' we really don't need.

21.) 30 Jun 2015 14:21:35
Take no notice ed.
Seems to me that O'Driscoll is EXACTLY the type of fella that would have fitted in with the old boot room.
Anyway, I am liking the look of the first team coaching set-up and good to see talented people being given the chance.

22.) 30 Jun 2015 16:34:53
What a doughnut!!bit embarrassed for ya lad, try and see the positives out of this appointment and SUPPORT your club!!can't believe the shite the Eds have to put up with!not on really

23.) 30 Jun 2015 17:30:29
He did well at Doncaster Rovers !!!! This is Liverpool Football Club I want o hear he did well at Barcelona or Real Madrid or Bayern Munich Doncaster Bloody Rovers is this a joke cause I do not find this at all funny or are FSG giving Rogers enough rope to hang him self ?

24.) 30 Jun 2015 17:49:03
Haha, I think he created a new account Ed001 ^^

25.) 30 Jun 2015 21:57:06
Totally agree with Ed001, O'Driscoll is a very experienced coach who was/is very highly regarded. My mate played under him at Bournemouth for years and said he was an excellent manager/coach who obviously knows a thing or two as had Defoe on loan there when he was about 17/18, he coached Eddie Howe and if I am not correct was he not the manager who gave Danny Ings a go as a 17yr old???? Give the guy a chance for goodness sake when are people going to realise we are not living I the past and past glories count for nothing nowadays.

26.) 01 Jul 2015 01:51:10
This guy did work wonders for Rovers; He did so on a very small budget and with the fans more often than not on his back. He is no stranger to a challenge and he actually got Rovers playing a good pass and move game (they just didn't have the quality to be successful with it). He was hugely let down by the board and Ryan in my opinion.

He should be much more passionate than our previous number 2 and will bring some good critiques to the mix, differing to those opinions of Rodgers, of which are well documented, "we showed great character in our defeat today, we are proud of our performance" etc.

27.) 01 Jul 2015 06:12:24
I don't know much about the guy, but he is highly regarded and not a yes man.

28.) 01 Jul 2015 06:15:22
People on here claim to know about football yet they have never heard of Sean O'Driscoll! Most people reading his wpedia page probably think he's a poor choice but like has been said he worked wonders at Donny and was prematurely sacked by forest. He is renowned for the attractive style of football he plays so i'm pretty happy with the appointment.

Seeing a lot of people saying we don't need to sign a new starting midfielder for next season as we have Fabinho, Hendo and Thiago to start and they are 3 great players don't get me wrong but what maybe 3 or 4 goals a season will come from that midfield. Surely we need a more attacking midfielder that will get us some goals especially as how bad 2 of the top 3 were this season. Don't know who would have to move to the bench or if formation would need to change or whatever but feel as if it is a must that we sign an attacking minded midfield option.

1.) 21 May 2021 00:58:58
Hahahaha just like we "we don't need to sign a cb because we have Gomez, Mario, vvd and quality players in the academy" last summer.

The club is permanent

The players are not

Keeping moving forward or get left behind.

You are only as good as your next signing. Football is, after all, 90% signings.

2.) 21 May 2021 01:15:44
We shouldn’t be playing all 3 at once. Play 2 keep one on the bench and add a midfield goalscorer and rotate. Gini and Keita out for 2 new midfielders would be ideal.

3.) 21 May 2021 02:38:23
We clearly have to replace Wijnaldum. And we have 4 aging midfielders in Henderson (30), Milner (35), Thiago (30) and Ox (28 soon) . Heck we might even need two midfielders. I can see Thiago easily giving us 3 years or more, but I don't see Henderson being able to do the same. Hendo's game is physical (and he'll wear out) while Thiago is all about technique.

{Ed0666's Note - I agree ArAy I think we need to replenish and stack the midfield with some youth for the very reasons you specify. I don’t think we can should rely on just a Gini replacement. Hence why I advocate purchasing two midfielders and selling Keita, Ox and Gini (Bosman). Next season I’d like a midfield of Thiago, Hendo, Fab, Jones, Nehaus, Milner and Bissouma. I think hendo will have to be managed till the end of his Liverpool career as the time he’s spending on the sideline is increasing, Milner is the same. And Millie will leave at the end of next season anyway. The midfield used to be our strength and I can see it turn into our weakness if we aren’t savvy this summer and next.

4.) 21 May 2021 05:04:42
I don’t think I’ve seen anyone say we don’t need to buy a midfielder this summer.

5.) 21 May 2021 06:25:18
I’m pretty sure everyone is unanimous in saying we neeed to buy a midfielder, just not everyone is agreeing we bring in 3.

6.) 21 May 2021 08:19:09
We also have Jones and Fabinho who aren't so old. Yes Gini will go and we should move on Ox and Keita in my opinion. I would rather buy one quality midfielder than a lot of squad fillers. Six midfielders for 3 spots and a space for an up and coming youngster is fine by me.
Henderson will be ok in 3 years. He might have to alter his game a bit but to think that he would be done within 3 years are far from the mark.

7.) 21 May 2021 08:21:29
People seem to forget that we actually added a midfielder in Thiago last Summer, who didn't actually replace anyone from the squad or did he?

8.) 21 May 2021 08:55:55
What IR said. and the fact that bobby we also still have minamino (AM) and grujic on the books.

I think klopp will move to 3 5 2 next season. 3 out and out defenders.
Trent and robbo wingbacks. Thiago and fab/ hendo midfield enforcers. Bobby everywhere in the final third and salah and jota upfront.
So.

9.) 21 May 2021 10:13:31
I don't see klopp moving to 3 5 2, he’s never used that system apart from a couple of random games.

10.) 21 May 2021 10:35:42
OP, where have you seen on this forum where it was said that we need to by just one midfielder? Cos all that I have been reading on here is not whether we buy a midfielder but how many and it is surely not just one? I'm baffled by your question.

11.) 21 May 2021 10:46:50
Grujic is likely to be sold, I suspect the same for Minamino. On paper it looks like we have loads of players, but dig deeper and really beyond Henderson, Fabinho and Thiago the options are not very good.

12.) 21 May 2021 12:30:18
absolutely 0 chance we move to 3-5-3 next season.

14 May 2019 16:04:20
Hey Eds, have we shown any recent interest in Brahimi of Porto? I believe him and Hector Herrera are out of contract in the summer so was wondering if we had shown any interest and if we haven't do you know where they could be headed? Both players are 29 so wouldn't be the worst business for any club to get them. Cheers in advance.

{Ed002's Note - None.}

02 May 2019 10:00:37
Very unlucky scoreline last night but that's football, they took their chances and we didn't. But we showed that we are able to give them a game so as unlikely as it seems I think its possible we can turn this around at Anfield. Would also like to give Matip some appreciation as he played very well last night and has done a good job for us this season when he got called upon since Gomez got injured. I hope he gets the contract extension that was rumoured about a week ago and I hope he got rid of the doubters who doesn't think he is good enough.

1.) 02 May 2019 13:05:15
Totally agree zincho. He was good last night, despite shipping 3 goals.

05 Aug 2018 21:01:46
Well Eds,

Just wondering what the story is with Danny Ings and where do you think he will end up? I know Palace were looking at him but are no longer interested and have also heard Newcastle are after him but he doesn't want to go there apparently so don't know where he is going to end up. Any thoughts?

{Ed025's Note - non league?, thats just a guess of course..

1.) 05 Aug 2018 21:53:10
I find it hard to believe that Ings hasn't been snapped up.

Palace would have been perfect for him. I thimk he would do well at Brighton too. Weirdly Everton could do with someone like Danny.

He could play for arsenal. He should be looking at 10 to 6th place teams.

{Ed025's Note - i like danny robbie but to be blunt hes not all that, im sure he could do a job for someone but low prem to mid championship would be my guess mate..

2.) 06 Aug 2018 00:26:18
Ings is better than championship level. Still think he has to prove fitness to get into a top side, and he won't get enough games with us to do so unless Solanke and Origi move on. Goes to show the depth we have that our nth choice players would be star signings for top ten clubs.

3.) 06 Aug 2018 04:08:35
I think Palace are waiting for the Zaha to Chelsea deal go sign up Ingsy.

4.) 05 Aug 2018 22:29:44
Fair enough ed025. I dunno, he was ace for Burnley. I think he can score goals in this league but I guess you're right. Lower prem. He is too good for the champ surely?

{Ed025's Note - if he sorts out the injury issues he well could be robbie, but he would be a gamble as it seems a very long while since he had a run of games mate..

5.) 05 Aug 2018 23:01:16
So a team like Everton, ed025? ;)

{Ed025's Note - he would be behind niasse in the pecking order so i dont think he would relish that mate..

6.) 06 Aug 2018 04:57:07
So ed25 what your saying is you think he should sign for Everton.

{Ed025's Note - he wishes ted..

28 Aug 2017 14:31:41
Paul Joyce has just said we have agreed a fee to sign Naby Keita next summer. Could explain why he was getting a house in Liverpool.

Oh sorry Ed, thought AFCON was on every year. My bad.
