Do LFC still have interest in Guilherme Siqueira.

Thanks

Hi Eds

Seems like the intended targets are changing
ever so often.
As we stand right now,
is Yilmaz and Cissokho the only known
players LFC are showing "interest" in
or are there any others that
you know/aware of.

On the outs, is it still safe to say that
Skrtel, Assaidi, Suarez, Coates and Agger
(Depending on the offer from Barca and Aggers
Decision) are the most likely to be moved on.

Thanks for the reply in advance.

YNWA-SA {Ed001's Note - that Siqueira is defo of interest too. As for Agger, it will be Agger or Skrtel to leave, not both and preferably Skrtel as he is the one we would prefer to sell.}

1.) 25 May 2016 07:28:28
Some serious heavy hitters in that list.

2.) 25 May 2016 07:48:04
Bacon you really need to quit drinking buddy. These bar fights aren't doing you any good. Who does hit the hardest just out of interest though? My money is on Klopp or Bilic!

3.) 25 May 2016 08:00:24
Hoping they finish in that order too.

4.) 25 May 2016 08:02:00
Its a shame rafa didn't keep Newcastle up otherwise u could add him to the list.

5.) 25 May 2016 08:05:22
Id say bilic tbh them eastward countries can take a hit too. The italians and posh be useless klopp would be accurite and fast like all germans and jose 10/ 1 on to fight dirty. Only man to put it up to bilic is roy keane bita irish spirit 😝.

6.) 25 May 2016 08:29:42
I have my doubts about Guardiola doing so well in his first season. He has a complete rebuilding job to do. He should have a talk with his buddy Klopp about the surprises, learning and setbacks that are all possible.

7.) 25 May 2016 08:58:48
Tony Pulis
Sam Alladyce
Mark Hughes

lmfao.

Hi eds

Is the fee for Sterling the highest for an English player?

YNWA-SA

{Ed001's Note - I don't know sorry.}

1.) 12 Jul 2015 20:41:56
Yes. Second highest transfer fee ever for a British player (after Bale).

2.) 12 Jul 2015 20:49:15
Fir an English player yes. I suspect levy might coerce Manchester United into shelling out more for Kane

3.) 12 Jul 2015 21:00:30
Think it is . As bale is Welsh

06 Jul 2015 07:58:48
Hi guys

Just would like to know from all the strikers in the team, it seems like these will be our options.

Sturridge
Origi
Benteke (possible)

Possible outs
Lambert
Borini
Balotelli

Do you see goals and would you be happy with those 3 and some of the youngsters given a chance hopefully.

Our midfield options looks awesome on paper, defense getting better. So just concerned how many goals will there be from the front men (hopefully lots).

Thanks

YNWA-SA

{Ed002's Note - You have forgotten Ings.}

1.) 06 Jul 2015 08:04:49
And Sinclair

2.) 06 Jul 2015 08:11:09
Correct Ed, Completely slipped up with Ings

Looks a bit better with the four upfront

Sturridge
Ings
Origi
Benteke (possibly/hopefully)

3.) 06 Jul 2015 09:04:50
If like a fit Sturridge and ings . They compliment each other very well. Like him and Suarez . A presser and non stop striker (who can finish )working in and around Sturridge , who on he's day is as good as anyone . But I see the need for a different type for certain games so maybe if he joins benteke will play and suit v big centre halves like Chelsea for instance . All in all we need that pressing from the top end so ings would be my shout with Sturridge

4.) 06 Jul 2015 09:09:18
Don't rule out a loan move for Origi. Certainly possible.

5.) 06 Jul 2015 09:57:46
Balotelli and Firmino

6.) 06 Jul 2015 11:54:44
You can have the best strikers in the world still struggle to score if the team is laying without any purpose or idea. Our biggest challenge is to become as formidable as we can be with the players we have available. Our style of play and working towards our players strengths and playing them in positions that will bring out the best in them is as important as who we have playing up top in my opinion.

7.) 06 Jul 2015 13:09:15
We've signed so many players that fans are already forgetting some. Brilliant.

8.) 06 Jul 2015 15:18:03
Spot on, back! We always had the squad to compete. It`s the mis-management and TW bunglings that have cost us. Sort those out (which Pep and Sean hopefully can) and we`ll be ok

Hi eds

When a player is loaned out, who pays the players salary?

And sometimes I hear a club agrees on a loan of player X @£2m, how does that work?

I'm just trying to understand if a club actually makes a profit or loss on a loan or its it either/neither.

Thanks

YNWA-SA

{Ed002's Note - It is case by case - for younger players there will be no loan fee and the owning club will typically pay the wages. For others there may be a small loan fee and the wages may be split. For the higher end players, such as Falcao, there was (in the case of MU) a significant loan fee and MU paid the wages, but for Chelsea there is a different agreement with a player or two going on loan to offset some of the loan fee and the wages more than halved. So there is no hard and fast rule.}

1.) 06 Jul 2015 08:01:02
What is a youth loan?

{Ed002's Note - It is the loan of a youth player and quite unusual because there are a lot of limitations about where they can live, schools etc..}

2.) 06 Jul 2015 08:04:01
Excellent Ed, and thanks,

Answered my concern about the future of the youth players,
So it's actually an investment in the younger players by the parent club. I like the sound of that.

{Ed002's Note - It is not something Liverpool really do much of. A few younger players have had the chance in the past couple of years - the older players were just dumped on loan for the sake of something to do. Their is clearly no plan or infrastructure.}

3.) 06 Jul 2015 08:16:49
Well here's for praying that all football clubs and especially LFC start implementing a plan and infrastructure.

4.) 06 Jul 2015 09:11:09
Ed02, what if the player loaned is made permanent? Does the loan fee is deducted from the actual transfer fee?

{Ed002's Note - It depends on the contract.}

28 Jun 2015 06:59:50
Hi Ed

It may be vague but I hope you get the gist.

Just to gain a better knowledge on transfers, is it possible for you to explain the different "Options" of an accepted offer and which one would be the best. And why would that club choose the one over the other?

For example, a selling club has 4 offers for player XXX, which one would be the best offer to accept.

Thanks

YNWA-SA

{Ed002's Note - Any offer has to be acceptable to both the club and the player, and that is what is most critical in terms of completing a transfer where there are several acceptable offers. So I will try and provide a couple of example scenarios.

Scenario (1) 19 year old "wonderkid" with partial third-party ownership from Brazil - with offers made by an EPL side, a Portuguese side and a Russian side. The offers might all be for the same amount of money - in which case the club will be consider the terms of the transfer and the player will be considering where he wants to go if (a) the EPL side need him to go on loan for two years but are offering him more money and his club payment over 18 months and third party owners cash up front; (b) the Portuguese side are offering him less cultural change, retention of third party ownership but a year or two playing in Portugal with some time in the Europa League; (c) the Russian side, who already have three Brazilians in the squad, will pay good money to the player, cash to his club, cash to the third parties and a contract for the player which makes any future move easy.

It is also not unusual to see player options or partial ownership deals on young players at the same club rolled in to negotiations. There is one EPL side that are part owners of a number of Brazilian youngsters which they have picked up over the years - these can be traded either way during negotiation.

Scenario (2) 25 year old solid international making the first major move of his career since arriving in Italy from South America. Speaks Spanish and Italian with a smattering of English. Culture change is no issue. Offers arrive from Germany, Spain and England, with a second offer from Spain including a player as part of the transfer. So the considerations for the club and player are (a) the English offer is higher than the others financially but spreads payments over a three year period. The offer to the player is better than the Spanish but not as good as the German one. There is a language issue and it remains unknown if he can easily settle, but he is mature and he should be fine – the club propose to employ an old friend of his to help out. (b) The German offer to the club is €5M lower than the English offer but it is a single cash payment. The offer to the player is slightly less but the German side are multi-national and they have been successful in national cup competitions. (c) The first Spanish offer is the lowest cash offer with the money spread over one season – half up front and half at the end. The offer to the player is lower, but language isn’t an issue and the team has consistently got past the group stages in the Champions League. (d) The second Spanish offer is for a small cash some, paid up front but a player the selling club are interested in provided as part of the deal. The offer to the player remains the same. The selling club know that chances of doing a deal for the player they want from Spain will not be so easy if they sell to England or Germany.

Scenario (3) 18 year old English defender playing for a Championship club in the South of England. Four offers from the Premier League, a top four club based in London, a mid table club whose ambition is to stay clear of the relegation zone, a first time ever to the EPL club looking to play good football and establish themselves and a top four club based in the desolate North of England where there is choking smoke from the pits rolling across the snow covered, wind-swept moors – where the “beast” roams free at night. (a) The London-based top four club offers £5M up front with another £5M based on winning the league again within three seasons. They offer a good life-style and regular Champions League games, but will require the player to go on loan for one season and then to be integrated in to the squad with perhaps a few League Cup games in the second season. Wages are not an issue. (b) The mid-table club offer £7M spread over two payments paid within a year. They are reasonably low profile but the player will be paid well and will be part of the match day squad from the start. (c) The new to the EPL side offer £8M paid over a one year period with a £1M bonus if they stay up. The player is straight in to the first team squad on good wages but will lose 50% of them if they drop out of the EPL at any point. (d) The Northern club offer £4M up front but up to £3M in easy to achieve bonuses based on qualifying for the Champions League rather than the Europa League. The player is offered the best salary and is part of the season’s squad but not initially the match day squad.

These are all possible scenarios and the sort things that players and clubs need to consider when negotiating a transfer.}

Ed002, your knowledge on these subjects is awesome, truly amazing. Its a lot more complicated for the average supporter to understand. Thanks for explanation,really gets home the message about the difficulties of signing a new player. Nothing is certain until they sign, clearly.

I hope you are well Ed i havnt posted a lot recently, but i am an avid reader of your comments, and humour. How you get time to respond to articles while your getting your nail varnish done i will never understand.

{Ed002's Note - Thanks Tel - I hope you are keeping well.}

2.) 28 Jun 2015 10:08:25
Great post ed. 👍

3.) 28 Jun 2015 11:39:03
Yes, very interesting and amusing.
Do you know how Liverpool's Firminio deal was structured ed002 ?
And, if the situation with Greece and ECB goes heads up, what effect that may have on the Euro exchange rate - could be some bargains to be had ?
Are PL players ever paid in Euros by the way ?

{Ed002's Note - I have no interest in getting in to that in any detail J.}

4.) 28 Jun 2015 16:56:39
Thanks for your knowledge and time ed002.
I had to read it several times to wrap my head around it.

Your are a true gem.

Hi eds

Thanks for the input. Best we don't know the petty things that are disruptive. However we do know that there are "BAD" things going on behind the scenes.

Lets just hope that the player comes in and be a success and not let these things effect him.

VR I guess LFC fans would surely say FIRMINO but I hope that young STERLING goes on and truly realizes his potential.
For me both CITY and LFC got good young players with great potential and I just hope that they are both success stories next season and seasons to come.

Forget the price tags bud.
