Coutinho is gone peeps. politics is the only hurdle keeping this one from being announced. Vvd could go one way or the other atm. AOC is done bar the fine details. Lemar is closer to being done than not. YNWA.

Barca are now in for Lemar, per French media and he is keen to join them as well. Liverpool was not even mentioned as a likely destination either. Make of it what you will.

2.) 30 Aug 2017 17:47:17
I never felt confident that he would come for sum reason, they can't buy him an couts can they so we got him for another year.

3.) 30 Aug 2017 17:51:09
Barca will not get lemar Dembele and couts I highly doubt.

4.) 30 Aug 2017 18:15:44
Couts is gone. we have asked them to ho! d off announcing till we have got our targets doing the lean. After all the tactics couts and Barcelona have pulled that this summer they are happy to oblige us. They get their target we sign lemar.

5.) 30 Aug 2017 18:19:15
You say we have got Coutinho for another year, but he has said he's willing to not come back and he's told the club he does not want to play for us ever again, what use is he to the club now? He's still likely to go to the World Cup whether he plays or not.

6.) 30 Aug 2017 20:03:20
I didn't say couts is here for another year I said he was gone is gone will be gone. Do I need spell checker or do you need an English lesson?

Right now emre is going on a free I hope us Liverpool fans don't turn into a bunch of spiteful hypocrites and start the whole "drop him he should never play for us again" malarky. most of us want to sign goretzka on a free in the summer and we'll be praising the boy for showing ambition if he came. Thanks for your service emre and good luck for the future.

ValleyRed

1.) 05 Jan 2018 12:23:28
He only deserves to be dropped if he isn’t performing, which he isn’t to be honest, but we’re not blessed with alternatives in that area so we’re stuck with a player who it seems can’t be bothered and wants to go somewhere else.

2.) 05 Jan 2018 12:30:13
The difference being that Goretzka is currently playing out of his skin for Schalke, and Can is spending more time brushing his hair out of his eyes than he is getting stuck in to challenges.

Maybe Can will pull his finger out, now he has his move lined up. Perhaps it was a distraction? But to me it's come across as a lack of effort and desire.

3.) 05 Jan 2018 12:37:47
Unfortunately my friend, in the world that we live in idiots and hypocrites are not scarce.

4.) 05 Jan 2018 12:54:18
I agree maverick. There are so many idiots who support Can and Coutinho through this tough time of leaving Liverpool, but won't support Lovren when he struggles to cope with being robbed at gun point, and facing the risk of going to prison over corruption in Crotian football.

Then there are the hypocrites who still to this day slaughter Suarez, Mascherano and Torres, but think we should send Can and Coutinho off with a key to the city and a nice picnic hamper.

Look mate, this is my opinion and you're entitled to disagree. I've never been a hypocrite over this though, but i guess it's your opinion if you think I'm being an idiot, and i accept that.

I personally think people are trying to be too nice and politically correct in this modern world of people getting easily offended. Can and Coutinho are self serving millionaires who don't give a damn about you, me, or Liverpool FC. So forgive me for not giving a damn about them!

5.) 05 Jan 2018 12:55:52
Just as long as he gives 100% until the summer and stays professional on and off the pitch then I have no complaints. He’s been a decent servant to Liverpool, never really caused any disruptions and just simply had his head turned after failing to come to an agreement.

It was clearly not about money which I can’t figure out if that’s a good thing or a bad thing but regardless, can isn’t good enough at this point in his career to be our main man in midfield, in my opinion. He’s shown glimpses the past couple of seasons but he’s around the same level as Henderson, who I think adds more and has more ability than can.

If it wasn't for injuries Henderson would be well ahead of can. As it is now we need a better sitting midfielder than both players so cans departure is necessary for that to happen anyway because I don’t see hendo leaving. Good move for him and I hope he reaches the heights he was projected to reach but I personally don’t see it happening.

6.) 05 Jan 2018 13:56:45
Spot on Maverick, some of the comments on here are ridiculous and idiotic.

7.) 05 Jan 2018 14:59:42
Can has always given 100% overall since he's been here. One can never rule out the fact that this kid played thru injury last season to get us top 4 and him being a bit off, should NEVER change that fact, IMO. As long as he gives his all as he has done 90% of the time at LFC, I'm not bothered esp. since we have Naby coming in to take his place.

04 Jan 2018 15:57:16
Is anybody else bored to tears by all this coutinho nonsense? He's been great for us since he signed, developed into a worldie if he wants to go we should say good luck and take the cash from Barcelona if their willing to pay a stupid amount for him. Time to move on and enjoy the rest of the players at the club aye.

1.) 04 Jan 2018 16:15:45
I just want rid mate. He's profiting from us fans, and I don't want anymore of our money lining his pockets, whilst he's refusing to play for us.

I so hope we knock Barcelona out of the CL and Klopp fist pumps the air right in front of the little helmet.

2.) 04 Jan 2018 16:27:17
Made me chuckle MK but well said. Time to get rid. Amazing ability but attitude stinks! Bigger and better have left.

3.) 04 Jan 2018 16:57:23
Adam, I agree largely with your sentiments, but maybe I'm getting diplomatic in my old age (! ) .

Yes, he missed x games during the summer transfer window and looks like doing the same during this one.

However, when he plays, he has been playing very well.

Therefore, thinking of the team performance first and foremost, if it were an option to keep him until the summer, I would not be anti.

However, if he is toxic in the dressing room, get rid. I'm sure Ed001 put up a comment a while back saying that's the case?

But from a purely playing/ performance point of view, having Countinho in the team is better than not, even if he misses a load of games in the next 4 weeks.

4.) 04 Jan 2018 17:12:40
Little helmet🤣 Love it Adam mate.

5.) 04 Jan 2018 17:23:40
Is it better with him in the team? For every Bournemouth performance, we get a West Brom performance. So we're basically gambling on his attitude every week.

It's making us really inconsistent. He either plays well, or he doesn't show up and just gives away possession constantly without ever working to win it back.

We're playing Russian Roulette with this situation and sooner or later there will be a bullet in the chamber in an important game. I'd rather he was sold so we can sign a quality player who might not be as good as the best of Coutinho, but also isn't as much of a liability as the worst of Coutinho. If you get what I mean? It's hard to explain.

Basically i want a player who gives us 7 out of 10 (or better) every week. Coutinho is flicking between 10/ 10 and 3/ 10 from week to week and it is costing us as much points as it wins us. Plus it's infuriating when he is having a "cba" day, and my son's first words might end up being "Coutinho you mother clucker"!

6.) 04 Jan 2018 17:34:23
Phil is not world class by quite a long way. Will he be world class potentially. At this moment in time a good player and that's it.

7.) 04 Jan 2018 17:39:58
I get the feeling frustrated part of it ands let's just get him gone and be done with it. But that's what Barcelona (and the player) are counting on so Barcelona can get a knock down price. I think Liverpool are trying to set a new way of doing business with Barcelona so they understand if they want a star of ours they will have to pay full market value and other tactics don't work.

8.) 04 Jan 2018 18:08:24
MK - I swear coutinho's 3/ 10 performances have come when he has played CM. I haven't kept a really close eye onthat this season but am sure that is largely the case.

9.) 04 Jan 2018 18:27:36
In which game was he 3/ 10? He has played decent in December.

{Ed025's Note - WBA at home mark?..

10.) 04 Jan 2018 19:29:05
One thing you say that i happen to agree with, MK, is thst at times coutinho still does not have the intelligence required in a top football team. The very best players in his position, silva, iniesta, hazard, even messi, are all capable of keeping a cool head on the pitch and trying different things to unlock the opposition defence. 1-2's, tricks, slowing down/ speeding up the play, long balls etc. Even after 5 years, coutinho still has games where he will ask for the ball constantly and just cut inside to shoot from range, over and over and over again. i've always said he is far too direct for barcelona. He has a lot to learn.

11.) 04 Jan 2018 19:56:41
Who was on form in the WBA game? He can't be the sole scapegoat because he wants to leave. He's always had good and bad games for us since he joined. I think we come to expect more now we know what he can do. He may not be working as hard as if we was fully committed but he has still won games for us and contributed positively in decisive moments. I think people should leave the resentment alone, it's not a personal vendetta against Liverpool. If I had the chance to work in my dream job and my employers stopped that from happening I'd throw my toys out of the pram too. I won't be singing his name from the rooftops but he consistently does things that very few in the league do with his shots and passes, making other players look foolish as they try and upend him etc. That's what I watch football for and I will miss him for that.

After reading a few posts about Liverpool buying players the last few days. it is very clear people need to stop playing FIFA and read a few books or informed articles about football! Lol.

Keita deal agreed apparently. Will sign next summer after completing a medical today.

We should just sell courts first as last get the best deal for him that we can. Hendo has had to try and be politically correct with the media about the situation this week and you can tell klopp is proper fed up with the situation from his demeanor with the media. Sell him get the cash in and if our scouts are earning their wage we should at least be able to sign 2 or 3 players with the couts o money that will either improve the squad or stabilize it. Fed up of hearing the names van dijk, keita and coutihno this summer. hoping for a solid away European performance tonight then a proper European an field night in a fortnight when I'm lucky enough to be there in person! YNWA.

The Firm that's from I've seen it on twitter today. totally unreliable and full of crap. Certain youngsters lead rather sad little lives in Bolton it seems.

At the price I've seen sessengon quoted at today for spurs I'm glad he told us he wasn't interested. good p! ayer with a lot of potential but far to expensive for an unproven champio ship youngster.

Everybody wants the window closed early when their club looks to be having a rough transfer window. if liverpool signed 3 worldie players at 10pm on august 31st this site would be full of people praising the fact the window stayed open after the season started! Lo! Us scousers need to be patient trust in the club and the manager and have a little faith :)
