Morning Ed, I agree with everything you say regarding the players. How can you let Klopp away with that?

Mourinho out thought him. Henderson didn't play because some idiot thought he should play agains't Porto. The defence was not compact TAA was I assume told to get forward, when for 20 minutes he should not have moved from his defence shape.

Klopp was as bad as the players and I say worse. I said to my son after 10 minutes they are targeting Lovren and TAA. We know our players are a bit thick and can't think for themselves and it looks like Klopp can't get the basics right either. All it needed was one instruction from the bench. Mourinho would have changed it earlier.

It just shows we are a mile off challenging for the title.

{Ed001's Note - sorry but we disagree because you know f all about the situation and so to call someone an idiot for making a decision you don't agree with is the only idiocy I see here. Perhaps you should try finding out why Henderson played against Porto before assuming it was the wrong decision. Or is it more fun to shout abusive names against someone who is not as damn ignorant as you?}

2.) 12 Mar 2018 08:29:16
Thanks for the match review Ed mate.

{Ed001's Note - welcome mate.}

3.) 12 Mar 2018 08:30:33
Interesting on vvd, I have to agree though. anyone can be calm on the ball with no pressure, and react once or twice on the break. It feels like to me it's like he's a centre mid, who just happens to be playing at the back. As though he wants the ball, but doesn't have that desire to keep a clean sheet, to get his body in the way, or knock someone about a bit. His positional sense also suggests he has not played Centre half either.
I wonder if we could go with a back five and allow Him to be free, and see if he can sweep up anything, although he really should be dominating in the air agaisnt most. The full backs will also probably prefer being wing backs, and allows Gomez to get some time at CB.

4.) 12 Mar 2018 08:36:55
There can be no correct reason for playing Henderson v Porto. There was no fun whatsoever watching that match it was painfull from start to finish. I stand by my opinion that Klopp (had a total shocker) and was as bad or worse than the players.

Some idiot is not abusive.

If possible tell me why Henderson played 90 minutes v Porto before the Man U game I would really like to know.

{Ed001's Note - plenty of reasons given that he is not match fit and needs games to get there and that he is not going to be fit enough to face United regardless so may as well get him game time in a dead game.}

5.) 12 Mar 2018 08:46:01
Nothing like a bit of ED1 vs weird posters to start off the Monday morning.

6.) 12 Mar 2018 08:48:39
We will have to agree to disagree I can't have that for a second.

{Ed001's Note - I can see why as you would much rather blame everything on Klopp. You seem to think basic schoolboy errors are his fault, when they are basic they are down to the player, not a tactical tweak. They are things players should do automatically not need telling to do. So that makes them the players' fault.

As for the rest, you clearly do not want to do anything other than make a knee jerk whine about a defeat so I will just ignore you after any other defeat as you add nothing to the conversation, just bitterness.}

7.) 12 Mar 2018 08:58:00
It's woke me up Welsh lol.

8.) 12 Mar 2018 09:02:20
Ed001.I can’t belive how shambolic the defence was in the first half and you’re right about Mata peeling away from Lovren and VVD, they both just stood their side by side watching him!

For me though, Can was one of the players I was really dissapointed with and as you say, he should have been the one initially tracking Lukaku !

I also think we lacked any width, we didn’t stretch United at any point and the one time we managed to whip a ball in from a wide position it led to our goal. Our build up was also terribly slow, now urgency whatsoever

Whilst Mourinho’s tactics to limit the space worked, we should have been looking to get to the byline, beat a man which then creates its own space as another defender needs to move to cover. We were never going to open them up through the middle, not without the likes of a Couthino player, ability wise that is.

Very frustrating.

{Ed001's Note - even with a Coutinho type you do not beat teams without using width. Barca had Messi but it was the width from Alves that made them so difficult to stop.}

9.) 12 Mar 2018 09:12:45
I agree with you on VVD ed, especially the analysis on the Mata chance. VVD could see Lovren being deeper and Mata making the run, but makes no attempt to at least track the run. I think even Mata was expecting VVD to be closer to him, causing him to take the shot first time!

Another thing I noticed on VVD is that even though he's supposedly our best CB on the ball, he spends more time pointing to where Robertson/ Karius should pass the ball to instead of making the passing angle so that he can receive the ball. It's not just the United match, but I noticed this in many other matches as well. It's so frustrating knowing that he has the ability but just seems to hide whenever he's on the pitch.

{Ed001's Note - it worries me.}

10.) 12 Mar 2018 09:33:04
I went to a Man U v Liverpool match just before Keane left for Celtic. He had been out injured for months and it was his first game back. Match finished 0-0 and Keane just shut Gerrard out and managed the game, organising his team.

Henderson should have played v Man U not Porto.

Gomez should be playing in all games agains't the better sides and staying in touch with the center backs. Klopp should have been still giving them both game time.

Klopp should have instructed Can to challenge for the first header, it was in his area of the pitch anyway.

I stand by my opinion that Klopp had a very poor game. Just as we both have the opinions that the players were poor as well. Put it like this if we play them later in the season Klopp won't make the same mistakes again. Klopp has broad shoulders he should be taking his share of the blame. It is far better than most on here digging out TAA.

11.) 12 Mar 2018 09:21:23
Ed1 said this about VVD before he even joined. I just hope it was one of them games for him I really do but it's certainly concerning. Overall I think VVD has done a good job since joining but seeing such performances like that is more then disappointing and just confirmed exactly what Ed1 said before he was signed.

No more of that please VVD! you play for Liverpool now mate.

{Ed001's Note - fingers crossed. Though the times when he is under that much pressure for us are much less, so he won't be exposed so often as he was.}

12.) 12 Mar 2018 12:12:00
Those who know me usually will say that I'm an extremely easy person to please. I thought we played better in the second half, and wasn't really that disappointed with the whole performance, just a bit on the result.

13.) 12 Mar 2018 12:42:46
Stop bashing Klopp. he had his idea early stupid goal stopped us from making it work. and this Gomez should play not TAA. Nice way to kill selfconfidence to our brightest prospect. wasnt gomez at fault for city first goal and burnley goal on second post? Every player have a bad day and you don't win at old traford with 2 players having bad day. simple as that. we lost against United but i wouldn't change their team for ours or their manager for ours. we have so much potential! Stop crying we are building something good.

14.) 12 Mar 2018 14:23:21
Klopp was wrong as well the players on the pitch. Mourinho is a tactical powerhouse and he did nothing other than exploiting our weakness and he did it brilliantly.
Klopp did not exploit their weakness which is exactly what’s ours! Full backs! Young and Valencia are crap! We did norm once stretched them. Salah needs help on the flanks when he is marked out! TAA was not seen anywhere. Same on Robertson!

Our attack. Well when you can’t pass the thread through the needle, you switch to the flank and stretch it. Let me be honest our full backs are useless going forward. Robertson is like a downing, A lovely guy who will win heart of every Liverpool fan but can’t hit a barn door foing forwrad.
Gomez has shown enough in the past how vulnerable he is against long and direct ball! He would have done nothing yesterday.

Now Klopp knows what we have at the back and what needed to be done! We need real quality payers there. Playeds whk don’t buckle against big fellows!

15.) 12 Mar 2018 15:40:05
Generally agree with Baby here.

Also with Mark, calling something idiocy is not abusive. Generally agreed with him too.

Hendo should have started. Klopp was outwitted and even worse, he didn't react in a way that was purposeful for us.

{Ed001's Note - he did not say it was idiocy, he directly called someone an idiot. There is a huge difference.}

16.) 12 Mar 2018 17:37:52
There is a difference alright but I don't think it's huge, especially in this case. It's a phrase we sometime use, some idiot did this or that, to express that we thought it was the wrong decision. Calling it abuse is stretching the intent for me.

I'm not trying to cause a kerfuffle her Ed. Love your site especially your work. I think Klopp should have risked Hendo. Obviously I don't know the ins and outs but I think it would have been worth it.

Again, I understand abuse is not wanted here and I'm not trying to defend it.

{Ed001's Note - in the context of his rant, it was clearly overstepping the mark. There is no need for it from someone who is ignorant of the reasoning behind the decisions made, so is in no position to decide if anyone is an idiot. I would say it is far more idiotic to make such a statement without having any information to make a judgement from. Ignorance is no excuse in a court of law nor should it be here.}

17.) 12 Mar 2018 18:41:17
Cheers Marto. I didn't mean anything by it. Perhaps I should have said it was an idiotic decision to play Henderson agains't Porto and not Man U. I don't really know now how I should have worded it. But for me it was a terrible decision and had a bearing on the match.

18.) 12 Mar 2018 19:30:36
Cheers Ed for the response, and Mark.

Most of us have to be aware that our opinions have some ignorance somewhere amongst them.

Whether we admit that or not.

Let's hope Hendo is fit enough for whenever Klopp thinks we need him. I think he's our best midfielder.

Cheers lads.

I though Carragher was better than that.

Having seen the video of the incident though it really is disgusting.

What an idiot.

{Ed001's Note - agreed.}

2.) 12 Mar 2018 07:05:19
What’s Carragher done and what video are we talking about?

{Ed025's Note - there is a video of him spitting at a driver and teenage girl who were apparently giving him pelters after the game on saturday mate..

3.) 12 Mar 2018 07:14:39
Yeah, that's not going to end well for him.

4.) 12 Mar 2018 07:45:50
Oh dear not good, me thinks good bye sky sports career. Why even think of doing that and he knows he is being filled. i've lost a lot of respect for the guy.

5.) 12 Mar 2018 08:11:40
Well the respect I once had for Carragher and now gone, what an idiot, disgusting behaviour and an apology just doesn't cover it.

6.) 12 Mar 2018 08:12:04
My guess is that there is more to this than we've heard, I mean should the driver have been filming anyway and what exactly has been said, however. I agree it doesn't look too good does it!

{Ed001's Note - I don't care what was said, what he has done is reprehensible. He has been the first to criticise players for spitting.}

7.) 12 Mar 2018 09:51:38
Pundit career over. Helping Tranmere academy would be a decent move for Cara right now.

8.) 12 Mar 2018 09:54:48
Thanks Ed, I’ve seen it in the paper now. If his job at Sky Sports goes tits up he can always get a job working with Bob Carolgees.

{Ed001's Note - why didn't you just click the link and read the article rather than wasting our time having to explain it to you? It is not like I spend hours each day bloody writing them or anything so some lazy get can just ask us about what is contained in them. This is why we get annoyed with lazy gets like you who make us have to repeat ourselves over and over and then complain when you get us riled up.}

9.) 12 Mar 2018 10:09:11
Forget Carra, it was a class act by the Burnley ben h to let youngsters sit on their bench and be sheltered from the pitch invasions and what not, also guardiola is right, England (and Wales) could do with more youngsters abroad learning a different style of play.

10.) 12 Mar 2018 10:25:55
There's a lot of anger on this site.

11.) 12 Mar 2018 11:55:59
disgusting he wants sacking from sky. can't take a bit of banter, all ways come across as he likes the banter no place for behaviour like.

12.) 12 Mar 2018 12:23:03
While I’d almost rather be punched in the face than spit on, I think the worst part of the whole incident is 2 grown men acting like school children while the teenage girl is being the adult. It’s clear the dude just wanted to cause an incident (which is why he was recording in the first place) and Carra has to be smarter than that.

13.) 12 Mar 2018 12:54:18
really am disgusted by carra, his apology was tosh as well, goaded 3/ 4 times? the guy said 2-1 to him. spitting is the sort of thing joey barton or el hadji diouf condone, and now apparently jamie carragher. disappointing.

14.) 12 Mar 2018 16:23:25
semi, just to be clear Carra was a complete bellend in this and his actions were reprehensible. However, on the specific point of him being goaded, clearly the videoing only captured the end bit, not the (I imagine) few minutes before hand which was more and more goading.

Totally abhor his actions, but wanted to clarify that one point.

Carra, you should hang your head in shame as you submit your resignation.
