Is it likely Ings will be shipped out this summer? Seems a good lad but can't see him getting much game time.

Toul4

{Ed002's Note - The club has made no efforts to sell him.}

1.) 13 Jul 2017 20:48:42
Hope not, the lad deserves his chance, he's just been unlucky, could understand a loan deal but not selling him.

2.) 13 Jul 2017 22:48:53
Worst case scenario a loan.

3.) 13 Jul 2017 23:24:16
Lads come in realistically he will not play this season. He is 4th choice and we play with one forward. Should go on loan to get much needed game time.

4.) 13 Jul 2017 23:43:55
Sakho, you don't know he will be 4th choice. Could force his way ahead of Origi and Studger could spend time injured if things go to form.

5.) 13 Jul 2017 23:55:23
Sakho is Boss, we've got loads of games potentially this year, so he has a chance to get himself in contention.

6.) 14 Jul 2017 01:31:05
I'm excited by our striking options this year, and keep forgetting about Ings.

We've got 5 different players who can play up top, all of whom offer different skills, not least Solanke who offers the element of suprise to a lot of our opponents who won't have played against him before. To be honest Ings offers some of that too as he hasn't played for so long!

I did think going in for Auba was a good shout, but in hindsight, we don't have a limitless pot of money, and I'd rather stick with what we have and ensure we get a LB, CB and possible CM of high quality.

7.) 14 Jul 2017 01:39:32
I can see in getting some time to give lallana, mane or firminio a rest. I still think he'll be great and definitely a fan favorite!

8.) 14 Jul 2017 03:16:13
We actually use three forward players. I know technically two are wingers but we don't always play that way. Injuries can happen and if ings stays fit should get a chance. Before all his injury worries he as tipped as future England star and was capped wasn't he? Could really surprise some I feel.

9.) 14 Jul 2017 07:34:50
I fit Ings is a better option than Origi in my opinion and has far more to offer so hopefully he can keep fit and show what he's worth this season.

10.) 14 Jul 2017 09:00:37
I don't understand the mentality of we already have 4 strikers so don't need anymore. if it's a upgrade get them. Ings and Origi are not good enough to push LFC to where they need to be so do something about it and go all out to get a top striker. Same with anywhere on the pitch if it's a improvement get them and sell what we don't need.

{Ed025's Note - im with you ruud..

11.) 14 Jul 2017 09:53:26
But Ruud, how can you say Ings isn't good enough? he hasn't had the chance to prove exactly what he's worth. I sincerely think the lad will shock doubters if he stays at Liverpool this season.

Origi showed signs of utter class last season, granted not all season but he's young, still learning, still adapting to the PL. You can't write him off just yet, he's 22, got plenty of time to shine.

It's not as easy as selling players and just going out and buying them mate, we're not in cash converters.

Solanke I don't expect to see a great deal of him this season but I hope we do of course, he might be one of them who shocks the league for all we know, that's the thing we just don't know yet.

Sturridge, injury free (I know, for now) but if he stays fit, he could prove to be the best player we have. A fully fit Sturridge is a top class striker, he will bang in goals for fun.

I don't believe buying a new striker will do anything for us, I'd rather go on the 4 lads above and see what they can do. Each to their own of course mate.

You've also got to think, it's not just the choice of strikers we already have, we've got Firmino, Coutinho, *Salah*, Mane who will also be scoring for fun.

Priority is defensive issues, not a striker, we're fine up there.

12.) 14 Jul 2017 11:37:22
I think your looking at it through rose tinted glasses teabag, I feel sorry for Ings but he's never been good enough for LFC but now with his knee injury history he will never be the same. At the minute Origi is not going to improve us and Sturridge's body has we all know is unfortunately not up to it.

You don't win anything without a top striker so it's time to get ruthless and get rid of the dead wood.

13.) 14 Jul 2017 12:20:51
With Salah, mane, firminio and couts as first team starters where exactly we going to play an expensive striker? No top player will come to be a bit part player.

14.) 14 Jul 2017 13:56:18
No one knows how or in what shape Ings will be after coming back from his third devastating knee injury in his career (second in two straight years) so the more pressing question is, will he be able to prove his fitness before you can even say if he will be an option for us or go out on loan to get games and further his development there. That is the question.

15.) 14 Jul 2017 14:31:54
the thing with Ings for me, is I absolutely admire his attitude to get fit etc, but I'm yet to see anything that would lead be to believe he could lead the line for a team with aspirations of winning a league/ being champions league regulars at the very least. Whilst I'm not saying I don't believe he is capable, he's had a torrid time with injuries which surely will have taken their toll, and we've all had very limited exposure to his abilities, so surely a loan makes absolute sense. He needs to show us the injuries haven't impacted him and get a full season under his belt.

{Ed025's Note - i like ings clarkey, but if your talking winning the league and doing well in the CL then an upgrade on him is paramount mate..

16.) 14 Jul 2017 14:54:56
Saying a player has got plenty of time to shine is rubbish. All layers have plenty of time to shine but how long do we give them. Liverpool want to be challenging for the league and cups now not when players eventually start to shine which could be 2,3,4 years. If a player out there is better than Origi is now and is available for a decent price, why shouldn't we go for them.

17.) 14 Jul 2017 15:24:30
Wouldn't be surprised to see luan in red next season.

18.) 14 Jul 2017 15:50:42
You think he's luan for us, Superred?

Will any further acquisitions rely on departures? Obviously right now we have a number of players who are surplus to our requirements.

I love Bobby but can someone please Bic the lads head.

Toul4

1.) 15 Jul 2018 20:51:44
He can put a whole Persian cat on his head if he wants as long as he does the business on the pitch.

2.) 15 Jul 2018 20:53:37
Silver fox in the box 😂.

3.) 15 Jul 2018 21:15:11
He's now got the Whitest Teeth and the Brightest head in Premier League football. He's got to be having a laugh haha.

4.) 15 Jul 2018 21:22:20
I agree, he has stupid hair.

5.) 15 Jul 2018 21:51:44
it’s all part of his plan to blind/ distract opponents to make it easier for himself and others haha.

6.) 15 Jul 2018 21:57:55
They don't call him Bobby Dazzler for nothing lads!

7.) 15 Jul 2018 23:16:13
I think he looks cool.

13 Jul 2018 16:04:43
End of the day Klopp rates him, picked us over other sides. Experienced international with quality in front of goal, for £13 mil. What are we complaining about? Give him a chance, if he doesn't apply himself I'm sure he'll be gone with no huge financial loss. Another step in the right direction for me, with proper motivation he'll prove to be top value for money.

Regarding Wilson I see some fans point of view he clearly has potential, but the harsh reality is he's only proven at championship level. Would much rather see him get continuos game time at this point and develop his game further before he starts competing with possibly the best attacking trio in world for game time.

1.) 13 Jul 2018 16:38:22
Toul4, We are all hoping he will come good and so is Klopp cos per Ed01, this is a Klopp signing and an odd one at that as there is NOTHING in Shaquiri's record in terms of attitude, work ethic, desire and mental makeup, that shows us he is worthy of LFC even as a squad player BUT he is one of us now and will get my support. Here's to hoping.

2.) 13 Jul 2018 19:27:37
If that is your support BRover God help us when you want to slag someone off.

3.) 13 Jul 2018 20:22:30
Although I find shaqiri comments about his FORMER team mates dispicible. I can understand his frustration. He joined Stoke when they were a top 10 side, a side aiming for European football and then they start selling all their best players and things change at Stoke while he is contracted to stay. He is used to winning. I think his attitude will be fine at Liverpool, as I've said, I think he will thrive.

Also, whenever klopp buys a cheap player, the next player seems to be a biggun. Let's hope he is saving money on shaqiri to sign someone massive.

I'm curious Ed's what repurcussions do players face if they refuse to train or play? Surely Costa isn't currently getting paid, i'd like to think if Coutinho 'strikes' that he won't receive anything financially from the club. But maybe that's wishful thinking.

Toul4

{Ed002's Note - Players can be fined two weeks wages. I am not sure why Costa gets mentioned.}

15 Aug 2017 15:16:49
If we do lose Coutinho, who realistically would we look at? Most clubs seem to be very confident of keeping their key players this summer. With 2 weeks till the window shuts how likely is it we will lose him and not find a replacement?

Toul4

{Ed002's Note - RTP.}

No influence at all, booked for a daft challenge. He's no outlet for our defenders, barely seen him. Not a presence aerially nor really has he done anything going forward. Defensively he's been slow, tell me if he's a supposed superstar then why is he not having any influence from the middle of the park? Don't get me wrong everyone has a bad game occasionally but even if your having a bad game, in centre midfield you must have a presence. Mane has done far more defending than him, if either of you see him starting for Juve you need a footballing education.

Lowest pass completion record out of our centre midfielders, that's despite playing a more withdrawn role more regularly. I am not having that he'd displace Khedira, Pjanic or Marchisio, and if you believe he would your deluded. He'd likely be a squad player there based on his versatility. Germany took an experimental side to the confed cup he also got played right mid in a qualifier and he's 23 not a teenager. Decision making and positioning aren't great and although he clearly has large potential I feel as a centre mid he lacks ability to control a game. His overhead kick wasn't the only thing that got us to the CL, dozens of moments and performances gained us points. As for our clean sheets, mignolets performance coupled with having our first choice centre halfs available consistently helped massively. I'm not slating the lad he has plenty of admirable attributes, but we need someone more consistently effective in centre mid rather than 3 box to box midfielders. Think back to Benitez and we had a balanced midfield with a deep lying distributor and a ball winning mid as well as gerrards obvious raw talent to create going forward. Now tell me, which of those categories does he fall into?
