Reds very keen on Lucas Paqueta, talks set to start soon.

TopoftheKOP

1.) 17 Jun 2018 19:53:48
Dave Mattock has said on Twitter that the rumoured interest is wrong.

31 May 2018 10:11:51
Stephen Nicol suggesting we have already made a bid for Alisson, so that's alleged bids made for Fekir and Alisson, Fabinho already wrapped up.

TopoftheKOP

1.) 31 May 2018 10:51:06
Does Nicol really have any knowledge within the club anymore eds? I've seen he commentates on matches on some foreign channel.

{Ed002's Note - I am afraid I cannot possibly be expected to know such a thing.}

2.) 31 May 2018 11:14:26
My understanding is that he may know slightly more than the average Joe but that he by no means has some sort of inside information. Take it with a pinch of salt.

3.) 31 May 2018 12:12:53
Stevie Nicol has size 13 feet and runs with his thumbs up

That is bona fide and fact checked knowledge.

28 Jun 2017 20:44:15
With Liverpool being priced out of signing Keita we have turned our attention toon to neves of Porto .

TopoftheKOP

1.) 28 Jun 2017 22:30:06
How has he done anything to warrant any interest?

2.) 28 Jun 2017 22:30:25
Totally different players.

16 May 2017 18:28:47
Any truth in the rumours of rafinha linked with Liverpool? Cheers eds.

TopoftheKOP

{Ed002's Note - I assume this is barcelona's Rafinha? If so, there is every chance that they would be interested in throwing Rafinha in to any deal for Coutinho - Rafinha doesn't play in that many games and effectively is used as cover in central midfield but I don't know of their trying to sell the player, nor the player wishing to leave, nor interest from Liverpool.

If howver this is the Rafinha from Bayern, then it would make some sense if Liverpool were looking for a right back who can cover elsewhere. He would not be expensive and has spoken of interest and offers from England - but again I am not aware of Liverpool interest at this time.}

1.) 16 May 2017 23:10:59
I saw an article claiming Barca's Rafinha was coming to us as part of a make weight for Coutinho. I dismissed it as click bait.

2.) 17 May 2017 08:44:15
Yes I was referring to rafinha of barcelona, although I'd take both ha.

3.) 18 May 2017 18:41:29
Make-weight transfers no longer happen apart from a loan deal of a player going the other way during a transfer.

15 May 2017 08:26:01
Hi eds, would you suspect by the Robertson signing he will Ben a back up LB? With Moreno on the move? I'm nkt a foot ball manager but I can see that we need a better LB than Robertson is.

TopoftheKOP

{Ed001's Note - what signing? No deal has been done, he is one of a number under consideration, but he has not signed as of yet. Hull were not discussing player futures until after they knew which division they would be in.}

13 Jun 2018 11:58:57
I really think we will be sticking with Karius as no1 next season and ward no2 which would be a massive mistake in my opinion, unsure if Alisson wants the move or Oblak for that matter but we need to launwhatbit takes to sign one of the two, that's been our main problem for over 10 years and needs addressing this window, I'd be happy to only sign either Oblak or Alisson and that to be the only other transfer we make.

TopoftheKOP

1.) 13 Jun 2018 12:25:27
If Karius was number one it wouldn't be a disaster but we wouldn't be as good as we can be. For me the question is long term strategy; do we buy someone available this summer who improves us but might not be the long term answer or do we wait for the right guy who may never be available.

There's no right answer but I tend towards improving the team now.

2.) 13 Jun 2018 12:29:20
Unless we get a top line keeper like oblak or Allison, why spend 30m on a keeper with the same flaws as karious. Until the CL final karious since xmas had been pretty good.

3.) 13 Jun 2018 12:40:57
Who’s Karius again? Sorry I have concussion.

4.) 13 Jun 2018 12:43:25
If our only piece of summer business left was a top draw keeper id be happy, thinking Karius is enough is going to get us near but not over the line, we can go for top draw or keep plodding along while rivals actually take the plunge and get top level.

5.) 13 Jun 2018 13:20:27
The only thing I will say about it is that if Karius is considered good enough to continue as number one, which I don't necessarily agree with, I'd be dissapointed if we didn't bring in a third major player (after Keita and Fabinho) .

6.) 13 Jun 2018 13:41:40
No need to be a smart ass UncleB concussion is very serious.

7.) 13 Jun 2018 13:47:12
Karius is excellent at the sweeper keeper role which suits our play. I also Guarentee he will never throw the ball at he feet of a striker again. Work on his concentration and cutting out the errors and he is plenty good enough.

8.) 13 Jun 2018 14:03:30
Jeez give the kid a chance goalkeepers mature older anyways and he is not a total disaster just more consistency required definitely something there to work wit
Up the pool.

9.) 13 Jun 2018 15:51:09
Unfortunately the chance of making the same mistake again is out of his hands (forgive the pun), he wasn't brilliant when he played and isn't going to be top level, he doesn't have the presence needed for top level keeping, we can't make the same mistake as we did with Mignolet, he should of been gone 2 seasons ago but because a half decent finish to a season he was kept, don't make the same mistake with Karius, id rather give Ward the chance.

10.) 13 Jun 2018 15:55:43
Il stick with karius. he only had half a season in goal, we all learn 4rm mistakes. I don't knw y bt i believe in karius. YNWA REDS AND PURPLES.

11.) 13 Jun 2018 19:17:15
Come on Barry, it may be serious, but you have to be able to laugh at stuff or else you just end up living in a politically correct vacuum that just sucks the life out of everyone. It is potentially serious for whoever is concussed, but then so is falling over or mis timing a bike trick, and 'You've Been Framed' is still going all these years later.

12.) 13 Jun 2018 20:00:37
Oh guys I was just playing with words 😂.

13.) 13 Jun 2018 20:47:36
Uncle, that was in bad taste or as we say in the U. S, that joke came "too soon" after the CL final. As for the GK issue, before the CL final, Karius had won the starting job for at least next season due to his play since he came in and the fact remains that he was very good in the final until he got clobbered in the head by Ramos and then, we know the rest. His strong points outweigh his weak points and those are coachable hence, improvemnt still needs to be made on this front.

Now, if we are going to buy another GK who is NOT the answer long term, then to blazes with that idea cos some bandaid like Butland, Pope or whoever, will need time (like Karius) to bed in and mistakes will still happen hence, you are back to square one which I and many others are not interested in.

That time you are giving said bandaid, you can give that to Karius, IMO to give him a chance to get going again. For me, Either you get the true long term upgrade like Allisson or you stick with Karius and Klopp may just do that so the whingers had better get their voices ready cos that may well happen.

14.) 13 Jun 2018 20:57:28
If we sell Karius, we'll live to regret it.

{Ed025's Note - and how do you work that out EP?..

15.) 13 Jun 2018 22:15:30
Regardless of opinion on him, Karius is one of us, did anyone manage to contact him or his representatives to make sure he is ok and knows we, as fans, are fully behind him?

10 Jan 2018 14:56:52
Hi Ed's :, would signing a striker and dropping firmino into the gap left by coutinho be on the cards? As would add more goals on my opinion, and could be a good fix until the summer until we can sign a creative midfielder, I know P. E. A is available but wonder on his relationship with klopp whether that would work out or not, cheers.

TopoftheKOP

{Ed002's Note - I am not sure that it would be sensible to change a system that is working very well - it would cerainly add risk. Aubameyangadingdong is in his late 20s, very expensive with outrageous wage demands and potentially very serious grief. He has been offered to a few sides but only one in China is showing interest.}

1.) 11 Jan 2018 15:27:12
Thanks for your reply.

11 Jan 2018 12:52:52
Surely the Ed's or macca should post the name of the player In question, it's is a Liverpool transfer rumour page after all, it's needed, please put us all out of our misery.

TopoftheKOP

1.) 11 Jan 2018 13:22:29
C. Ronaldo.

2.) 11 Jan 2018 14:03:27
Topofthekop, Macca is probably being cautious as usually players he or the eds mention end up all over the news, and can potentially ruin any transfer.
Maybe we should request macca name 10 players it may be and allow us to draw our own conclusions! It's the only way To find a balance between our thirst to know who it is, and our logic to know patience is a virtue!

3.) 11 Jan 2018 14:38:50
Wouldn't work TIA19, the media will just report we've drawn up a shortlist of ten players -. -.

4.) 11 Jan 2018 14:24:54
what TIA19 said!

totally agree mate, macca has to be fair with that kind of post! im already going bald on top jeez by end of window il be totally bald man! but yeah 10 names one of which is our top top target.

10 Jan 2018 20:37:00
Hi Ed's, any chance we could go back In for Brandt, as his big concern about a move was playing second fiddle to coutinho?

Thanks.

TopoftheKOP

{Ed002's Note - Certainly if Salah leaves.}

1.) 10 Jan 2018 21:20:12
I can actually see Salah being sold and then finally Klopp walking because of it all tbh.
I Seen a stat yesterday saying we've made more money from selling players since 2010 than any other club in the world. Need to start keeping our best players.

{Ed025's Note - you cant keep players who dont want to stay mate..

2.) 10 Jan 2018 21:24:24
Even if klopp was to switch salah to firmino position, firmino to coutinho’s position, and Brandt into salah’s position? That’s what I’d do haha!

3.) 10 Jan 2018 21:44:31
Sorry ed have I picked that up wrong are you saying salah doesn't want to stay or you talking players in general?

{Ed025's Note - players in general mate..

4.) 10 Jan 2018 22:41:45
He is teasing. Salah isn't likely to leave anytime soon.

5.) 10 Jan 2018 22:52:01
Cheers mate.

6.) 10 Jan 2018 21:16:26
You don't think he'd be a suitable Coutinho replacement then ed? Also ed I'd be interested to hear your opinion on who you think would be a good fit for Liverpool this window and who you think should be signed as a Coutinho replacement? We've heard ed001's opinions so it'd be good to hear yours mate.

{Ed002's Note - Brandt was first pick that eventually saw Salah arrive. He would not address the Coutinho position and his future is, quite frankly, going to be elsewhere. In terms of would would be the best fit to fill his tiny little boots, Insigne can play on the wing or behind a striker and is a decent player. Max Meyer has proven adept at pretty much all midfield positions, Krovinovic would be one for the future but Liverpool have been looking and he is well thought of. Nabil Fekir could step up.}

06 Jan 2018 19:32:53
There's no way we'd let coutinho go in January, while we're still fighting for top4 and in 2 cups, 1 realistically that we could win without a suitable replacement. would we?

TopoftheKOP

1.) 06 Jan 2018 20:03:13
If he's causing problems in the dressing room, then maybe.

2.) 06 Jan 2018 20:46:09
Yes he's gone mate. All over the news. Surprised you hadn't seen it.

I’d have Suarez over salah on Fifa but not for my club, salah is much more of a professional and has respect for his club and team mates.
